Was not impressed with their customer service. I scheduled an online sitting. Then they called to change the scheduled time via leaving a voicemail only, not asking if this new time would be acceptable. Which it was not, so we had to cancel our appt. Then we went as a walk in today, and we were turned away. their comment was they only had one photographer, Even though they clearly state walk ins are welcome online. Not even an apology offered, I won’t be going there ever again. It was a waste of time getting everyone all ready,. Clearly not family friendly, customer focused or empathetic.

I can’t say anything bad about this location of JCPenney Portrait Studios. The two gentlemen that day were very professional and personable. I’m not sure of our photographer’s name, but he was so patient with my busy 2 year old and we even struck up a little conversation during the shoot. I also came with a Groupon deal and wanted to stack a coupon in addition. My pictures came out so well that my husband and I ended up buying a $ 99 sale package (w/​coupon) that included 18 digital shots that I chose out of about 25 shots, so I will be putting my Groupon to use later on for fun pictures. My shots were delivered to my email about 20 minutes after choosing them and I LOVE THEM. Thank you employees of JCPenney Portrait Studios Annapolis.

Our family had an absolutely horrible experience with this studio due to scheduling issues. I had scheduled online an appointment for 4pm on a Sunday and showed up promptly at 3:50pm to check in. I was told that they were still working on another client and that there was also another family in line (i.e. I had 2 others in front of me). I asked about the potential wait time and was told «we’ll get to you as soon as possible.» 1hr later we were still waiting with grumpy kids and they were still working through the 2^nd group. They spent 45mins on the first customer in front of me and then about 45min on the second customer (by the time we left, they were still shooting pictures). While I’m glad that they didn’t rush the other clients, they made us wait a total of 1.5hrs until we finally walked out. I asked why there was such a huge delay and their response was that people were late for earlier appointments and some sessions ran long. If that is the case then 1) late customers should be rescheduled 2) they need to schedule more time in between sessions so that customers after them are not inconvenienced and left waiting for over an hour. If you schedule an appointment online there are 10min slots. With each session running about 30 – 45 minutes, you can do the math. Finally at 5:15pm, they were still shooting the 2^nd group of customers in front of me. Realizing that the kids would be starving by 5:30, that the others customers were still not done, and that it would be at LEAST another 30mins to take pictures and review them, I LEFT. I WAITED FOR 1.5HOURS AND NEVER EVEN GOT PICTURES TAKEN OF MY KIDS!!! We WASTED 3HRS getting the kids ready, driving to and from the mall, and then waiting 1.5HOURS! What an awful way to waste your Sunday afternoon. This store and their corporate owners Lifetouch Inc. need to re-​evaluate and change their scheduling policies. It’s ridiculous to have to waste your entire afternoon and STILL not get any pictures taken.

Place turned out to be pretty good

Very impreseed: Groupon Greatest Deal
1. They honored Groupon deal with no problem.
2. They called 2 and 1 day before sitting to give a friendly reminder.
3. They were ready to start as soon as we got there, with no delay.
4. Our photographer was Ariel she was super sweet, patience, and professional; we never felt rushed.
5. We had a lot of freedom to pose how we wanted and Ariel was able to direct us when we got stuck, so it was a good partnership.
6. All the photos turned out beautiful. I really appreciate Ariel retaking all the pictures that she knew didn’t look good.
I highly recommend this place, we will definitely be back!
