I love the place. High quality ingredients. Interesting combination, awesomeness flavors. Shame it is in a back corner of the mall where there is very little traffic. Limited staffing due to business which makes it challenging when more then two to three customers are there. You may wait but it is well worth it!

It’s lunch, it’s balanced, and it’s healthy. I love the kids options here too, I feel like the food is healthier than some of the foods you can get at the mall. They have sandwiches mostly and they are the back side of the mall(kids area). The children usually get a pb&j or cheese sandwiches, I usually get something with chicken and I am always pretty happy with it.

I’ve been working at Westfield for years and was very excited when Smak first opened that I had a nearby, quick, semi-healthy option for lunch. When they first opened it was great, I frequently visited, but the service has taken a nosedive in recent months. The menu was changed, and new options were made available which is great, but the focus needs to be on hiring competent staff. There’s typically one guy working and a long line of orders for him to complete that is constantly put on hold to take more orders. I went today and had to wait longer than my break for my food which hadn’t even been started in 15 minutes. The employee working was barely able to communicate due to a language barrier and was unsure of how to give me a refund. I will not be returning.

Labor Day weekend 2014. I really don’t know what the reviewers are referring to when they mention slow service. I’ve eaten here twice and both times I got two sandwiches and a salad within 10 minutes. They got everything correct on the ingredients too! The food is delicious and feels fresh.

Ok — yes, the service is slow and the counter is extremely understaffed, but honestly — it was still worth it one of the healthiest options you could even get at the mall and for that, I appreciate Smak tremendously. I can’t remember what my sandwich was called, but it was basically salad(peppers, cucumbers, shredded greens, etc.) on ciabatta with a spicy spread of hummus and avocado. FABULOUS! I opted for the half, but really should have gotten the whole sandwich or a wrap. It was super fresh and refreshing and gave me a great boost of energy that I was sorely in need of. There’s also a nice selection of healthier juices to pick from, which is nice. I can’t speak for anyone else here, so far I am totally a fan. Excited to try something else on the menu next time I am at this end of the mall.

I enjoy Smak sandwiches… I’ll go to the mall just to get one! I, usually get the Turkey, Brie, avocado, fig… comes w/l&t, on(fresh) flat bread/ciabatta – It’s delicious!(They changed the name of it recently.) so 2.5 stars for that.(Because it’s take-out) *However *Service can be a bit slow, only because they are short staffed. Mgt. really should have 3 – 4 people(Not: 1 to ring & the same 1 to assemble– but, the kid tries.) Maybe mgt. will see this and make the necessary adjustment; Weekends require more staff, don’t shortchange yourselves cutting corners. So I’ll stand by .5 star for that.

I recently went for the first time and had the Brie/Tomato/Arugula sandwich, it was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. There were lots of other items on the menu that sounded good as well. I’ll definitely be back. There was only 1 person working when I was there, luckily it wasn’t that busy or I think it would have been slow to get the food.

Terrible. The food is fresh and it is nice to have salad options, but they take forever and cannot make anything correctly. You’ll either get protein you didn’t order, or the wrong protein, or the wrong dressing, or it will be missing 1 or 2 of the salad ingredients called for. Such a shame for the healthiest lunch option at the mall to be so incompetent. Set aside 45 minutes if you want the meal you ordered. They will need to make it 3 – 4 times to get the standard menu options right.

WOW. Ok, I came here a few months ago and really enjoyed my sandwich(the Brie, Arugula, Tomato sandwich). Today, not so much. The menu on the wall lists the ingredients on this sandwich as also having avocado, baby swiss cheese, havarti cheese, red onion, fig marmalade and is on a sundried herb focaccia. Today(Jan 27, 2014) I ordered the same sandwich that I listed above. I am not sure what I got. At first, the guy who served me could barely understand me, and I could barely understand him(he spoke Spanish, which normally is not a problem for me to understand really), but my receipt was correct. I got home(about a 15 min drive away) and started eating my sandwich. There was NO avocado, NO fig marmalade, NO onion and was on a plain white ciabatta bun. Basically, my sandwich was a bunch of cheese, two small slices of tomato, a ton of arugula and some kind of spicy sauce. When I called to speak with a manager, the guy who made my sandwich answered the phone and when I asked if there was a manager working he said yes… then silence. I asked if I could speak to the manager, and he said they wouldn’t be in until 4. So I thought I would let him know what happened. I said that my sandwich was incorrect and he thought I was trying to ORDER a sandwich. I told him no, that my sandwich didn’t have everything that should be on it, and that there was a spicy sauce on it that shouldn’t be there, and that it was on the wrong bread. He didn’t seem to care, just said sorry, and said something about coming back to get it fixed. Uh no thanks… that will take me 15 min to get there and 15 min to get back. Not cool. I will not go back. When I went the first time, I felt the service was slow(20 minutes on 2 sandwiches and a cup of soup?), and wanted to give them a second chance. Both times there was no manager present. I have managed a fast food restaurant and a sandwich shop in the past. I would never leave someone alone at a restaurant who cant make a sandwich correctly. I would not recommend going here.

Extremely slow service. It took them 20 minutes to make a salad. The staff didn’t even acknowledge me when I approach the counter until about 5 minutes of standing around. I asked for a salad without onions, I got onions but didn’t even care anymore because I had waited so long.

When I went to the Annapolis mall last Friday night, I saw Smak. I was not sure if I wanted to buy something from the Smak. So, I decided to order Asian salad and I ate the salad. I loved the asian salad. It’s so good! I definitely will go back and buy the salad.

The staff is wonderful. I’ve visited twice and both times the young men working were extremely thoughtful. I’ve ordered two sandwiches & both were delicious and extremely well-priced.
