Everytime I come here I leave disappointed with something whether it was the price of the equipment, the sometimes unknowledgeable staff or their questionable sales techniques. I feel prey to their awful selections when I was younger but honestly the stuff they are paid to move is more times than not garbage and they won’t recommend anything else of course.

These guys are great. Very professional and extremely knowledgeable would be the best way to describe these guys. I took my acoustic guitar in that had some neck warping issues. I had previously taken it to GC and they informed me it would be $ 250 and they were going to remove all my frets and sand my fret board to make it level again. I called Marty’s which is where i bought the guitar and they told me to bring it in. They ended up fixing the guitar with a few adjustments and some care tips for $ 30. I needed the guitar to play out and they had it done the next day. I spoke with Shaun who also worked on my guitar. I will never go any where else again. Even thought its a 45 minute drive its well worth it.

I’ve been a Customer of Marty’s for over 5 years. They are very professional, knowledgeable, reliable, and efficient. Most importantly they are very nice people and will care about you as a human being. I’m buying pretty much all my stuff here for playing out professionally again after a long disability. I recently purchased a mint used J3 electric guitar here at a price too low to mention! and they set it up perfectly. Also got my line 6 floor pod here last month. I plan to get a lot more things as i am able to here. For me, there’s no need to go anywhere else’ for my music needs. thanks Marty’s.now if they’d just add me to their sponsored musician list :) no kiddin, get your gear HERE!!! mateo

This store was an exciting find for me as a musician. I hadn’t heard of it before but stopped in this week after having passed it in my car. They have their own building, which from the outside looks decently sized. Walking in, the hallway clearly branches off into lesson rooms, which is also encouraging because good music education is hard to find these days. Entering the store, there is a counter along the right wall and one in the center of the room. I stopped in twice this week and there were no more than two retail employees working at any given time. Perhaps this changes on the weekend but I can’t be sure. The store is reasonably spacious, but not luxurious. The aisles can be slightly difficult to navigate — I especially noted that a wheelchair would have difficulty in the corner where the guitars and amps are displayed. They may want to consider reconfiguring for accessibility. On my first visit I asked if I could play a guitar, to which the sales guy replied«oh, you want to buy a guitar?» with a smirk on his face. That’s not what I said, I replied — I would like to try a guitar. «Which guitar do you want to buy?» This immediately turned me off. But I kept dealing with him(he was the only person on the sales floor at the time so I didn’t have a choice) and answered his questions about the kind of guitars I like. I purposely wanted to try a brand that I hadn’t previously been interested in because I knew they had a new model available. He spent the next few minutes trying to convince me that the guitars of this brand I had experienced before were likely not correctly adjusted and that’s why I didn’t like them. Of course that’s ridiculous — I sold guitars for almost 15 years and have played since I was seven years old. To write off every example of this brand I’ve ever tried is ignorant and assumes me to be gullible and unintelligent. I left after a few minutes, not wanting to deal with this guy anymore. I decided later in the week to try again, hoping to talk to someone different. I got my wish, as guy #1 was busy on my second visit and guy #2 spoke to me. I told him I wanted to play this particular guitar again, to which he responded«can I see your credit card first?» Are you KIDDINGME? Who the heck teaches these guys about sales?(sarcasm) Way to go.(/sarcasm) I’m sure the store does a fine business or they wouldn’t have any nice guitars or a nice building. But just think — they could be so much more successful if they would stop being so off-putting. I only found this store because I was in Lebanon helping a friend buy a car from a dealership, and she commented to me how the salespeople at this store were more aggressive and more difficult than any of the five or so salespeople we had spoken with about cars at different dealers. Guys, wake up. You don’t have to be wheeling-dealing Superman-salesman to sell guitars. You have to put people at ease and share their excitement about the instruments. The moment they put their guard up, you have severely damaged your chances of making a sale. ESPECIALLY with all of the options available to people for purchasing online from dealers who are no-pressure with great pricing. You cannot survive in music retail by giving off the high-pressure vibe. I will not likely be visiting this store again. If I were to decide to buy a guitar of this particular brand it would definitely be from another independent dealer who does not pressure the customer.
