I had been going to one of the large chains to get my haircut before I stepped into Cowboy Mel’s. I was tired of the assembly line like experience and always having my hair look like a 10 year old’s. Cowboy Mel’s is just the opposite. The folks are always kind. It’s calm and relaxing. Every time I go I’m reminded of how great a quality cut feel can make a man feel. I even look forward to getting a haircut now. I highly recommend Cowboy Mel’s.

First off the country/western genre is not my cup of tea. That being said I can appreciate the hunting pictures and cut out of John Wayne. I love the homely feel. Mark(owner) And Justin are excellently skilled in their craft.(Not to say other employees are not these are just the two I have dealt with) they are willing to really take their time and not just rush you out the door. The small talk is genuine unlike most places where they interrogate you and add small empty comments. They will also stay silent if you aren’t much of a talker. The price is reasonable(never ashamed to give up an extra dollar or two to support the small business’s) but I tip generously everytime. Salt of the earth people Artisans of their craft

Needed a haircut and had an hour to kill, so I stopped in at Cowboy Mels. Décor was a little cheesy(you can imagine with the name) and I was expecting to end up with a geezer buzzcut but was pleasantly surprised with the results! The barbers were pleasant and talkative and also apparently, skilled! The only thing that kept me from giving 5 stars was the price. Seemed a little high for a barber shop but I guess you gotta pay for the ambiance. I will return.
