Hands down: MYFAVORITEPLACETOEATMEXICANCUISINE. Why? Because it is authentic, inexpensive, and tastes so good. I do not live near the twin cities, so when I am unable to visit Tacos La Paloma, I have major cravings for it. My first time trying it was about two weeks ago now, and I’ve been there twice now. I know it will keep me coming back whenever I’m in the area. My boyfriend and I went there for dinner after stumbling upon it on Google. My boyfriend lives near Anoka and had never heard of the place before, and once we arrived, it appeared to be an unassuming little place. You may even miss it while driving because we definitely did a few times before finding it. Do not disregard this place based on its appearance. The food is the best authentic Mexican food I have ever had, and I swear I could’ve eaten 100 tacos. My boyfriend got the fried tacos and really enjoyed them. I got three of the soft shell tacos: the fish, the carne asada, and the carnitas. After eating our tacos, we decided to go back and buy more. My boyfriend expressed that he liked the soft shell tacos better than the fried tacos, but you won’t be disappointed either way. My favorite taco was the fish taco. The fish had amazing flavor and was cooked perfectly. The carne asada and the carnitas were delicious as well though. I also ordered a cup of horchata that was very good as well! This was the first of it that I could find in Minnesota! The second time I went there, I got the carnitas taco as well as the barbacoa taco and let me tell you, the barbacoa taco was to die for! The meat was so tasty. The tacos come with a jalapeño pepper as well as mild or hot sauce and limes as well. Please pay this little place a visit! They will show you what authentic Mexican food is supposed to taste like with tacos that are less than $ 2.00 per taco(the fish taco is the only taco that is over $ 3.00 but is so worth it!)

This place is one of those hidden treasures. The appearance might not be top tier, but the food is of the gods. If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food, please stop here. The prices are inexpensive and just right. You can to go Taco Bell for $ 1 soft taco, but you can go to Tacos La Paloma and get a soft taco for $ 2 and it’s AUTHENTIC! You can choose any kind of meat you want in your dish and it won’t cost you a penny more. A lot of places will charge more for different types of meat, so this is a treat. Try this place out. If you’re a water drinker, bring your own water bottle as they prefer you to buy something instead of asking for a glass of water.

This restaurant has great authentic food. I work really close to this place and eat here pretty often. I don’t think that their has been one thing I haven’t tried off the menu. It’s all just great! I also love coming here with my labtop to do work — jose the owner is friendly and nice. I would totally recommend this place to anyone.

Small, overlooked place with fantastic food. Really like the Tortas and tacos. Burrito was pretty good as well, but would still probably take a Chipotle burrito over theirs. Get there at the right time, as I’ve had the place to myself and other times it’s quite busy. A regular place to visit with my coworkers.

This is THEBEST place, bar none, for tacos and tamales in the area. The tacos el pastor and the tamales(any variety) are worth trying. The owners are really friendly. Not much to look at from the outside, but you will not be disappointed.

Had 25 minutes to kill as my daughter took her drivers license road test. From the outside the place looks a little sleepy but nothing ventured nothing gained. I was in the mood for tacos so I ordered Asada and Carrnitas. The counter waitress was friendly and communicative. Order placed in 5 minutes or less. Five minutes later a plate with two tacos, a side of guac and a roasted jalapeño were delivered. Piping hot which was nice as sometimes mexican food has cooled by the time assembled and served. I had to wait for my first bite. Both the Asada and Carnitas were excellent. The place is a little worn and some of the tables needed a wipe. A bit surprising as the lunch rush was over and the counter staff was sitting in a booth. I would return again if I lived nearby. My daughter passed her drivers test so it may be a while until I return. But no doubt if I am in the area, I’ll be back.

Small place = Big flavor! The food here is absolutely fantastic. I visited this restaurant with my wife and sister in law, and tried a few items. First, we had the chicken quesadilla. It was filled with delicious chicken and LOADS of cheese, and was well worth the $ 7.49 price tag. I had the Barbacoa Enchilada combo which came with two enchiladas, covered with melted cheese and green enchilada sauce, and a good sized portion of refried beans and rice, for only $ 6.75! My wife had the chicken tacos, and my sister in law had the Barbacoa hard tacos, both of them said they really enjoyed their meal. I would have liked to give this place 5 stars, but I felt the temperature of the restaurant was a bit warm, and our table was very sticky. To clarify, I don’t think the table was dirty, I think that they used a clear coat on the table that was either not appropriate for the application or wasn’t allowed to dry and cure properly. That, plus a hit humid space, gets you a sticky table. Overall, the it was a good experience, and you can’t beat the price.(It is pretty difficult for 3 adults to get a satisfying meal and beverages for under 30 dollars nowadays) I will definitely visit this restaurant again in the near future, but may just do their take out option to avoid the table unpleasantness.

Fresh ingredients, authentic, flavorful taste, great prices and friendly service. A friend, I and my 2 year old stopped in for a quick bite. We ordered the enchiladas and fried tacos. The lady brought out some«bonus» rice for my daughter. The food was excellent! The chicken was well seasoned, the sauces were a perfect blend of flavor and spice. Definitely going back there.

I work nearby and was excited to try this place out. I picked up an order of chicken tacos and one fish taco. The fish was not bad, I just would not order again. It was no breaded which was awesome but the texture of the fish was chewy and overcooked. I almost thought I was eating the chicken tacos. Those were tasty, yet small; on corn tortillas which I love love… I will be back. The Barbados smelled amazing while I was waiting… yum.

The food here is so good! I love the steak burrito and there’s usually enough left over to have the next day. The prices are good and the staff is very friendly.

Apparently I’m pretty American. I asked for the al pastor fajita meal but the guy kind of stared at me, smiled and went and asked the cook if that’s possible. He said yes, was very pleasant and said, «No one’s ever asked for that before. Usually you choose chicken or steak with the fajita because the other ones are already marinated.» I laughed and then just got the steak instead. It was excellent. Service was great, price was decent($ 8.99) for a good size meal, and the food was hot and delicious. The food may have been steaming more than usual because it was cold as hell outside and was pretty chilly inside too. Will come back. They also have cow brains so if you’re into that, go for it.

I have worked in this area for many years an came across this location when our company relocated at the opposite end of town. I was overly surprised to love this place the food is amazing n will even give you enough for the next day! It can be a little over spicy n then they give you extra containers for more spice too. Staff is pleasant and very quick! Check it out!

Easy to miss this place, as it’s in the middle of an older strip mall and tucked between an ecig store and laundromat. Stopped by today and ordered a few tacos to-go for a late lunch. I have to say, we were floored! The woman behind the counter was patient and explained the meat options to us. Decided to forego the cow tongue and head. Opted instead for more typical meats. The restaurant itself was clean with about 15 tables and a few other customers on this Sunday afternoon. Our food came quick — within 5 minutes. Each taco($ 1.99) came on two 5″ diameter corn tortillas and was garnished with onions & cilantro with a side of limes and radishes. They were all extremely good, but my favorite was the marinated beef. Will definitely return soon, have a full meal and eat in!

I love, love their chicken tamales. Only available on the weekend. Make sure to ask for both salsas. You can order them ala carte.

This is the best authentic Mexican that I have had in MN. Everything that I have tried has been good after at least 5 separate occasions. I recommend the barbacoa and the al pastor for meats. It is a similar style as El Taco Riendo in North Minneapolis, but i prefer the flavor here and it is much closer to home.
