Unless you know where it is, you’ll drive right passed it. The nature center has a nice soccer and baseball field, along with a large wooden play ground that many of the residents of Ansonia came together and helped to build. There are picnic benches and a couple of trails to walk. If you look long enough in the pond you might get lucky and see some turtles or frogs. Many butterflies and birds can be spotted in the field during the summer but Make sure to use bug spray ! A simplistic place for a nice day outdoors.

Enjoyed most of our first visit here with our son who’s just about 5 years old. Admission to the visitor center is free to the general public. A large wooden playground is mostly fenced in and shaded with seating for parents. One major complaint, they had tires lined up(like a tunnel) for children to climb through which were filled with water and breeding mosquitoes… my legs & feet were royally chewed up! Anyhow, we loved the owl, bearded dragon and many other creatures. I’ve read that this used to be a family owned dairy farm and has 2−½ miles of nature trails… make sure you bring the bug repellant and enjoy!
