This place probably deserves 6*‘s!!! Very clean. To begin with, the salsa was outstanding!!! Service was great. I went with Fajitas and they were some of the best I have ever had anywhere. We just returned from vacation in Mexico and the food here reminded me of vacation. Highly recommend eating here if you want authentic Mexican food. One of the best in Nashville!!!

The best original Taco and Burrito in the area. Come hungry as the portions are quite generous and the service is really good. Loved the carne asada and the fresh salsas. Great to crash for an afterparty treat.

Watch out for those sauces. They’ll jump up and bite ya. Spiciest Mex food I have found in the area. Not the best salsa though. Margaritas were OK. The place is a solid three. Oh yeah, be aware, they charge full price for EVERY refill. So two glasses of sweet tea(1 plus a refill) $ 4+

This place is fucking awful. Don’t waste your money. Makes sense it was previously a Waffle House because the food quality was about the same. Carne asada was so tough it couldn’t be consumed. Literally. It was hard to chew and swallow it. My chimichanga was pouring out grease onto my plate and soaking my rice and beans. Who the hell uses mozzarella cheese in a Mexican restaurant??? Wtf? And who serves bottled soda to customers in a restaurant? Keep your money!!! Go somewhere else.

I’ve always thought you can tell how good a Mexican restaurant is by the beans– and the beans here are AMAZING! I’m originally from the Southwest, and have been looking for great– AUTHENTIC Mexican food here in Nashville for the past year and a half– and I’ve finally found it! My husband and I have been back 4 times in the last couple of months. All the food is delicious and you can’t go wrong with any of the dishes. We get something different every time we go and have yet to leave without having to unbutton the top button of our pants. This place is seriously good. Don’t be deterred by the location(I think it used to be a Waffle House) or the décor. The wait staff is fantastic and the quality of food is the best Mexican food I’ve tried since moving to Nashville. And the prices are very reasonable.

Been in Nashville for a few years now and after moving here from the Gulf of Mexico area I wrote off any and most all food in these parts. Hey I love Granny’s Biscuits and Gravy but come on! This is my second order from AB. The Gordia, and I ordered two, was just fantastic! Why, because it reminded me of a time when I was down south the street food was where it was at! Not to get into politics but there was a time when you could travel down and not have to worry! Ordered the Tex-B also and with the green sauce. All I got to say is, GOGREEN! It’s REAL! The Tacos al Pastor were just good and the Enchilada Mexicanas, beans and rice just great! While enjoying this fine food I had to listen to some presentable music from a Little Ol’ Band from Tejas to make it right!!!

Paid 11 dollars for 4 taco dorados with guacamole side… Way too expensive. Decent food.

Just ordered via grub hub. Seen the place a lot and didnt think much to try it. I’m from Arizona and grew up in el paso. That said, Mexican food is my favorite cuisine and I know it well. I thought Oscars taco shop had decent stuff and was the closest to flavor I’ll get. BUTWHYDIDN’T I TRYTHISPLACEEARLIER!!! OMG!!! FLAVORTOWN!!! very spicy, but just right for me. My wife ordered the Chile Colorado. That’s my main dish but gave up trying to find good red Chile so she tried it. AMAZINGOMG!!! Not authentic as far as southwest goes, but very very flavorful. I got the Chilequiles with Asada. Amazing. I couldn’t believe the home run hit we scored by trying this place. Seriously. If you have doubts. Don’t. If you’ve pondered but haven’t committed, just do it. They are very good. I went out of my way to download this app to write a review.

First visit, noon on a Sunday. Mostly Latino crowd. I ignored the chips and salsa and ordered the chicken Enchiladas Mexicanas. Rice and beans, perfect! Enchiladas even better! A nice creamy enchilada sauce. Wow, good Mexican food in middle TN! I returned on a Saturday night at 7pm and the owner was not there. The tacos al pastor were good, but not hot and were served on a cold plate. I also ordered beans and rice on the side, and not just the plate was cold, so was the food! I came back a few weeks later at 11am on a weekday for a late breakfast. But they don’t have any breakfast items, so I had an early lunch instead, chicken nachos. It was great, with the owner sitting right there by the door. My advice, don’t go too late when the owner isn’t likely to be there. Or go to Señor Burrito in La Vergne, where the owner’s always there, and the enchiladas are great(other items not so great).

When going to an authentic restaurant, and trying to determine if the food will be food or not, I like to look for two clues. I look for the the ethnic group and for hipsters. This is a sure fire way of knowing the food was good, and this place was textbook. In my opinion this is the BEST Mexican food in Nashville! The food wasn’t that frozen, and microwaved«food» they serve at most«Mexican» restaurants in the area. The portions are enormous, the salsa and guacamole are fresh, and the tortillas are HOMEMADE! They even serve freakin 32oz coronas! Highly recommend this place and then you’ll never want to go to a Mazatlan or Cinco again. Real food people.

Having just moved here from California I was quite wary of all Mexican restaurants in Nashville. As my boyfriend and I were heading down to Atlanta for the weekend I had the sudden urge for a burrito. After a quick Unilocal search we found Acapulco Burrito and thought it looked promising enough to let our spoiled CA taste buds decide. After tasting the Burrito Mexicano and Burrito Mole I can proudly proclaim that we have found a Mexican restaurant that can satisfy our cravings! The chips and salsa were delicious as well! And our server was incredibly attentive and sweet. Tldr: this place is amazing!

If you are looking for a genuine Mexican experience, look no further. Nestled in a repurposed Waffle House behind a gas station is this gem of a restaurant. First the tejano music was amazing, considering it was blaring for over thirty minutes from a road worker’s cell phone. We were in fact the minority and the majority did not seem to mind. The food was a treat that will make you feel like you truly went to Mexico. My chimichanga was filled with chicken, peppers and onions that tasted like a chicken philly cheesesteak. At 2 this morning… we will leave that alone. When people say you get what you pay for, they are right. This place is cheap. Now as far as the rest of the reviewers giving this place high marks… No. No. No. No. No. No. I don’t know who is paying or falsifying reviews but no effing way. No.

The food is outstanding: wonderful homemade corn tortillas come with the Carne Asada, delicious salsa, great guacamole and the chicken enchiladas suizas were very good. Although they were very busy the Sunday we went, they seated us within 15 minutes. The service was average and the food took too long. It’s not very clean. The parking is limited. We’ll try getting take out next time.

Generous portions, excellent shrimp diablo and seafood soup. The soup had clams, crab legs, shrimp, and calamari. The tortillas that were served are handmade. This is the most authentic Mexican food I have eaten in Nashville. Highly recommended!

Five star? Keeping the price and location in mind, yes! Flavor, spice, variety — all are here and well priced. Everything I had came with a good base seasoning, and a choice of salsa and two different hot sauces, you have the heat scale covered. This is my first time, but I shall become a regular if this is the standard. Oh, and their beans are not the typical bland fare. They have a really nice hearty flavor. I’ll be back!

Authentic Mexican/Central American food right at the highway exit! The food is fantastic. We ordered one Mexican burrito, cheese & chicharon papusa, and steak chalupa and two cokes for the two of us. The burrito was the best. It was fresh, filled with ground chorizo and fresh veggies, then topped with Mexican melted cheese. The papusa was a close second and was a soft homemade corn tortilla pocket filled with cheese with specks of pork. It was warm, soft, and delicious. When you order they provide you with fresh chips and the best fresh homemade salsa for free. The food comes with two types of homemade hot sauces, or you can choose from about four bottled international brands that are on the table to use as you like. The bill came to $ 17 and it was quick and convenient. One star was subtracted for the cleanliness. The restrooms are only for guests but are dirty and the floor in the restaurant was slippery from food on the floor. I will be back the next time we are going through Nashville.

Caldo de mariscos con coco is absolutely the best soup I’ve ever eaten! This place doesn’t look fancy, but for a lunch it’s ok.
