Curt’s Appliance Service

Called Fischer Paykel for our dishdrawer and they referred us to Curt’s. Came out same day within promised window. Explained how the dishdrawer works to prevent misuse in the future, demonstrated how to access and use the test cycle to fix the problem, and explained likely replacement needed if problem continued. Only charged for the service call ($ 100). Also helped locate replacement filters for Dacor range hood.

I have a Thermadore range that stopped working in October 2013. My home warranty company sent a technician out and several visits and 4 months later it was still not repaired. I was without an oven for over 4 months. Thermadore recommended Curt’s. I call them this week and set an appt for today. He came out and was professional and proceeded to diagnose the problem. I didn’t have a lot of faith as the previous repair tech had been out multiple times over 4 months and my oven still did not work. Within 20 minutes or so he diagnosed the problem and within 90 min I had a working oven. He fixed in 90 minutes what others couldn’t in 4 months. I highly recommend Curt’s Appliance Repair not only for their ability but for their integrity. He knew I would’ve pretty much paid anything to get my oven fixed but he didn’t gouge me. His price was fair and reasonable. I HIGHLY recommend this company.

Glad to see Curt’s on Unilocal!This is a long overdue review. My oven went out and was having problems with my freezer. He came our today and I realized Dick (the owner) and I have been working together for 20 years. Wow, time flies! We have had him work on every appliance we’ve had in two different homes all this time and we keep coming back because the service is just that great! Calls are answered promptly and professionally, service arrives on time, repairs are done quickly and cleanly, he’s up front and honest and prices are always fair! What more can you ask for!

I called this morning to have my dryer fixed and Richard arrived today within the time frame promised. He quickly assessed the problem and had the parts necessary in his truck to repair the dryer quickly & efficiently. In addition, Richard is a very nice guy! I will recommend Curt’s Appliance Service to my friends.

When I asked for a technician to come and fix my dishwasher, I explained my problem on the phone was that my dishwasher was leaking from the bottom. I had assumed I needed a new seal, but I’m not a Bosch technician and therefore relied on their technician’s «expertise» to determine what was the problem.
When the technician arrived, he told me that it did look as though my seal needed to be replaced, but further more, there was a film over the entire inside of the dishwasher and the sprayers were plugged. He did not know what the film was caused from and told me that he didn’t think it would be worth it to fix my dishwasher and told me I should just buy a new one. I was very discouraged by this because my husband and I had paid $ 1300.00 for this «Top of the Line» dishwasher not more than 3 – 4 years prior. I have owned 2 homes and a few dishwashers. I have never seen a dishwasher which needed to be replaced so frequently and be so expensive! I asked him to replace the seal, which he told me would only cost about $ 20.00. He replaced the seal and then charged me the whopping $ 143.88 for his services. He was here for less than 45 minutes.
After he left, I proceeded to run my dishwasher, empty, with some boiling water, vinegar and baking soda. I did this 3 times on the «Heavy Duty Cycle» and my dishwasher continued to leak! After running 3 cycles and getting no where, I decided to try and tackle this problem on my own. I pulled the dishwasher out and saw the side access panels. I removed them and found a trap on the left side, which was filled with soap residue which was not allowing the dishwasher to drain. I pulled it out, along with the hoses, which were also caked with soap residue. I was able to clean all of them out and put my dishwasher back together. I then re-​ran my dishwasher on the Heavy Duty Cycle, and it ran beautifully without leaking!!! It also ran in half the time it had been running. When the cycle was finished, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the inside of my dishwasher was immaculate and there was absolutely no residue on the inside or on in any of the sprayers. The entire process of me taking apart my dishwasher, cleaning out the hoses and trap and putting everything back together took me less than 90 minutes. I then thought about the almost $ 150.00 I just paid for a «Bosch Certified Technician» to come out and obviously not know a thing about my Bosch dishwasher and the only advice he could offer me was to trash it and buy a new one. I will never use them again and do not recommend to anyone!!!

I highly recommend Curt’s Appliance. The repair person showed up on time, diagnosed our problem quickly and repaired it. We have an older top load washer that continued to fill up and not shut off. The repair person was able to fix the problem in less than an hour and our washer has been working again perfectly. The price was reasonable (only $ 100 including the $ 80 diagnostic fee, and less than other repair people had quoted us)

Highly recommended. Easy to contact intitially. Showed up for the appointment within the time frame stated. Had all the tools to fix a broken fan in my oven. He did not have the part, but ordered it and came out the very next day and had it fixed. Whole operation took two days. Richard is the owner and is a pleasure to deal with. Very friendly, clean, and knows his work. I would contract with Curt’s again in a moment.

Would not recommend. I was charged $ 100 for a call just to advise me I needed a new switch, I told them the burner only had high and off, which would have been obvious that a new control was needed. A 2^nd service call was needed to do the actual repair for my stovetop and the technician spent 45 minutes going over the written repair instructions repeatedly and less than 30 minutes doing the actual repair. I would expect someone who does this for a living to be able to figure out how to do the repair faster than that. That visit I was charged for $ 165 for 1hr 15 min.
