I hope this place gets better with time. I’ve eater here twice already and all three things my friends and I have had have been mediocre to terrible. The front counter is a mess with order tags and receipts everywhere. The cook doesn’t use gloves and mixes food with his bare hands, even if you wash your hands they still have hair and oil on them naturally not to mention what’s under your nails. I hope this is just the opening blues. I won’t be back for a month or so, to let them figure out what they need to do, to correctly run a restaurant.

I am SO happy about a new Peruvian Restaurant in Antioch!!! I LOVE Peruvian food and came here for take out on their second day. I will have to work my way through the menu but so far their Seafood Arroz Chaufa style was pretty good. ESPECIALLY with the spicy green sauce. Rice and beans were also good. Service was very friendly albeit a bit slow but I think that is because it was only their second day being open. I will definitely be back and probably become a regular so I can try all of their delicious offerings. I wish the would offer a Peruvian Lamb Stew, Seco de Cordero as I have been obsessed with the one at New Parada in Walnut Creek and have had to try my hand at making it which came out pretty good. They do have a beef version which I will try next.

I think I happened to stumble upon this place during their grand opening the day right after New Years Eve. The place was overflowing with people and there was even a crowd waiting to get in. I can’t say I was pleased with the long wait until we got to actually sit down and eat but I’m not sure there is anyone to blame because there were so many people… Seems like this is the new hot spot in Antioch to get your fix of Lomo Saltado and Pollo a la Brasa. Once we got a chance and our name was called me and five friends sat down to eat. Never really do family style but we wanted to try a little bit of everything. We ordered Papa a la Huancaina… the sauce was to die for. So good. I just had to ask for more on the side to splash a little bit of it on everything. Next came the Anticuchos and order of Choncholi. For this we were given a green spicy sauce. Waiter warned us it was a really spicy but wow. It was very spicy. The other dishes were ordered were lomo Saltado, Pollo a la Brasa, Arroz con Mariscos and Cau Cau. I think overall our dining experience was really good and my friends enjoyed the food quite a bit as did I. I have been to Peru before and really enjoy Peruvian food so I’m happy I got to introduce my friends to the cuisine through this restaurant. Will definitely be coming back. Also also all the pictures and the smell of pollo a la Brasa and Aji de gallina as you walk into the restaurant will make your mouth water so get ready.
