We scheduled an appointment to meet with «Donover»
(hindsight, red flag. Donover is not a name)
from K2gc at our property in Antioch.
He was unavailable to come until the following Tuesday (5 days later).
But we went ahead and made the appointment since they have excellent Unilocal reviews and we wanted a quality contractor.
Tuesday arrives, we drive from our home in Sacramento, to our property in Antioch. 20 minutes after the appointment and no sign of Donover and no call from him, I give him a call.
He says «ohhhh. Um. Im still in a meeting»
(WHAT THE H##L ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT. WE HAVE AN APPOINTMENT)
I said, we are here at the property, we drove 90 minutes to meet you here?.
Donover: «I dont know when I will be finished. Is there a lockbox, can I stop by later?»
(we would like to go over the repairs with the contractor, its a $ 50,000 job with numerous details to disucss)
With little choice we leave confused and give him the code to the lockbox, our day wasted, and head back to Sacramento.
He then calls two days later (Thursday)to say he will be out to the property next Monday and have the bid to us Wednesday.
(That would be Wednesday — 13 days after we first called)
So swinging by the property «later», apparently meant 6 days later.
At that point we had decided we are unlikely to use this contractor due to the terrible service, but we are curious about their estimate.
Wednesday comes and goes. No word from Donover.
On Thursday I called to see if he had been to the property. He said yes, but we are not going to write a bid. We know we wont be the lowest bid.
(WHAT? WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN.)
Long story short, two weeks of wasted time and money and frustration with this contractor. He never even sent the estimate, never called to tell us he decided not to do the estimate.
No showed at the appointment, and never called to say he couldn’t make the appointment.
I can’t recall a worse experience with any business I have dealt with in recent memory.
NEVER contact them if you are looking for a decent contractor.

Quality work and good people!

I had water damage in my home that caused a complete remodel of my kitchen and lots of work in the dinning room as well as replacement and sanding of hardwood floors. Everyone down the line from Kenny, to Bob, Jim, Matt, and all the staff saved my sanity. It is difficult to be displaced while your «castle» is being repaired. The entire team is professional, friendly and highly capable of getting your home back to perfect! Thanks everyone! I would never hesitate to recommend this contractor and his team to all my friends, family and clients!

I don’t even know where to start because I was so overly impressed by this company! Kenny came out to give me a quote on a kitchen remodel. He was very professional, honest and really took time to help me figure out where we could cut costs to help stay within our budget. I am so thankful I chose this company to do our remodel.
I don’t think I have ever seen a cleaner demolition process! LOL. They completely seal the area with large plastic sheets and zipper the room off to help keep the dust down. At the end of every day, they clean up and its like they were not there
The entire crew that works for this company is phenomenal! Our project manager was Jim McCarthy and he did an excellent job of keeping things on task, providing me with daily updates and helping work through the minor issues as they arose. Jim was nothing but professional and really lets you know that he cares about YOUR project. We had a couple of hiccups along the way and he promised to make things work out… and they DID. I never had to worry about anything.
George, the painter, was so sweet and just did a great job as well. Honestly, I wish i knew all of the workers names so i could call them out, but know that every single one is professional, and do excellent work. George took the time to help me with my paint selection. I was nervous to go too ‘bold’ and he went and got my paint choices and made swatches on the walls to help me figure out which was best. I LOVE LOVE my choice, thanks to his input.
And lastly, Steve the tile guy! All i can say is AMAZING. Steve was so incredible… he helped design the backsplash, and figured out a way to ‘correct’ my poor tile color choice by adding an enhancer over the tile! It completely helped match up the colors and my tile could not look better. Steve also helped to correct an issue where my dishwasher didn’t fit! He made it work and for that, I am forever grateful. Steve is pretty much a one man show and I can’t believe how fast he works and what a fantastic job he does. Need tile work… THIS IS YOUR GUY.
Anyway, i know this is a wordy review, but i feel like great work deserves the time and effort to let people know if they need any time of remodeling… this is your company, no question. I would not hesitate to call them again for my next project.
