Decent food, fantastic service by Tiffany. This place is located in Antioch’s quaint downtown area. I love the artwork painted on the walls, too

Second time to try. Last time service was bad. Waited over ten minutes, finally had to flag down watress to get even a glass of water. This time the food was terrible. Corn Beef Hash bore no resemblance to classical. Taste was metallic and consistency of mash potatoes. Hash browns under cooked and cool. Eggs were luke warm. At least not dried out. Toast was pre-buttered. One slice drowned the other dry. The good point was the wait staff. Will never be back.

Solid breakfast spot. Wish they were still 24 hours for a late night stop, but not missing anything with closing before dinner.

Las Vegas has always been a staple for the Antioch community. The name Las Vegas is not necessarily as fitting anymore being they aren’t open 24 hours/day; it’s still the same family atmosphere. But it is very disappointing they are no longer open even for dinner. Vegas used to be the go to place to have breakfast for dinner or broasted chicken. They now no longer serve broasted chicken and you can only get breakfast for breakfast(or lunch). Although the change of hours is a huge disappointment(and the reason they didn’t get 5 stars) the food is still delicious and the service is still great. You can never go wrong with a skillet, homemade soups, or chicken strips.

Great people, been coming for five years and the people are always warm. Food is great, the renovations are lovely and the new menu is super tasteful and offers variety.

first, our server Tiffany or Jennifer(sorry i forgot her name, just drove 1 hour in a monsoon rain storm) was awesome! She was very friendly, my wife and her cousin have not seen each other for a while, so it was family catch up time, we were there over 3 hours, and we were never pressured to leave. The coffee and ice tea was constantly refilled even after we paid our bill. now for the food, it was good, chicken dumpling soup, Grilled Chicken sandwiches, salads out the wazoo. Very affordable prices. Even though we live an hour away, we will come back. Again our server made the visit so remarkable. Good food, good prices. PS, we stayed so long we were going to ask if we could wash the dishes.

The Las Vegas used to be one of the best breakfast places in Antioch Illinois. That is no more. The current vegetarian skillet is now a gnarly, oily mess of potatoes with a hint of vegetables and eggs any style. The vegetarian skillet used to be more like crispy country fries, with a healthy portion of vegetables on top and eggs any style. It is sad to see this restaurant go downhill as it was one of the best, that, as I have stated before, is no more. Anybody got any hints on a better breakfast place?

Breakfast all day, but note that Antioch’s Las Vegas restaurant«day» only goes to 3:30. Good for them. Friendly, helpful service and I just go with what my server recommends. Be sure and ask about the specials. I like the breakfast options better, not the omelettes as much as the other egg dishes and amazing pancakes. Good coffee which seems increasingly hard to find, and plentiful. Bottomless good soup. Clean, family run diner and it shows. SOMEBODY is paying extra attention to your meal and it is somebody from the family. Some nice window booths in the front. Street parking in front and more parking in the back. Excellent Neon sign, and great lit picture by Christina S. in Lake County. Las Vegas Restaurant is a solid option if you don’t know WHAT you want for breakfast or lunch in Antioch. A-OK+

What happened to this place? Before they remodeled the food was ok, now I just can’t finish! I ordered the chicken dumping soup and that was good as always. Then I ordered the turkey BLT with f.f. and I just couldn’t eat another bite. The other person I was with had maybe 1⁄3 of her burger because it was tough. Tisk tisk, never coming back here again!

Met some out of town friends here at their recommendations. I had the Grown-up grilled cheese, chips(weird) and taco soup. I did not like the soup at all! If my sandwich had been hot, I would imagine it would be to die for. Cheese, spinach, mushrooms, bacon. YES! But no… Colder than cold. The only reason I gave Vegas the score I did is I had a couple bites of some of the others plates at the table. I should have ordered breakfast. Their pancakes are AMAZING! Probably the best I’ve ever had! Their bacon was fresh and had a REALLYGREAT flavor! OMG! I should have ordered breakfast!!! :(I should have sent mine back but didn’t. Regretting that decision. I’ll be back… For breakfast!!!

Come here every weekend for Breakfast! The place is always booming. Omelets are huge, pancakes are delicious. Not to mention the chicken dumpling soup is ridiculous!!! No better place for breakfast in a twenty mile radius!

Went for lunch with my sister. She had a blt and I had a open face turkey sandwich. It was SOOO good! They have tons of soups at lunch and it was very good too! The waitress was very nice and refilled our drinks right away. Good lunch for 20 bucks at a sit down dinner.

Great little family diner. Everything you would expect on the menu — lots of variety. Truly the best Hot Turkey Sandwich I’ve ever had a family diner. The soups are great, too. Service is a little hit or miss, but usually a hit.

I am having a tough time deciding whether Las Vegas Restaurant gets a two or three star review but I am leaning more toward a two star review, unfortunately. Service was par, definitely could have been better. We had a young woman that didn’t seem to have any interest in serving us as we waiting roughly 7 minutes until our drink order was taken. Another 5 minutes until we actually received our drinks and then it felt like forever and a day before she took our food order. Food came out quick but the food quality was par as well. I ordered a ½ pound burger and the burger was something you would expect from a restaurant like this — normal burger with basic lettuce, tomato and ketchup. Burger was a bit dry, sort of tasted like something you would get from pre-packaged burgers at Costco or Sam’s Club. Another thing that struck me wrong was when we were seated, a guest I was sitting with was hit in the back of the head with a booster seat when a waiter was attempting to carry it over the table and seemed to not be strong enough to do so. It wasn’t the end of the world but the waiter didn’t even have the courtesy to apologize. She looked back like she stepped in dog poop and kept on doing whatever she was trying to accomplish. To sum it up? Las Vegas Restaurant is par. Perhaps even a bogey if we are speaking in golf terms but if you are a novice golfer, it means this place could be a lot better. I’ve certainly experienced better and unless I am not within walking distance from this restaurant, I don’t see myself coming back.

Really on the fence about whether to get this place 2 or 3 stars. Decided to go with 3 because the service was excellent, the servers were funny, our friends really like the place and we only tried 7 items total from the expansive multipage menu. We had the chicken Parmesan which as expected was good — a little like Chef Boyardee tasting sauce, so nothing special. The pasta was fairly overcooked but this is not an Italian restaurant so that was not surprising. The Athenian chicken sandwich, was served appropriately with grilled pita bread which was sliced in half. It had soft, as much as you can call melted, feta cheese on top of the griddled chicken breast. Good flavor. A buffalo chicken sandwich had an enormous chicken breast, which appeared to be an entire breast from both sides of the chicken, with a very thick and crispy batter which reminded me of Arthur Treacher’s coating on their fish fillets. It was good at first but then it got to be too much, just too greasy and too thick. The buffalo sauce was nice and spicy but it was very poorly placed on the chicken, ladled on just the center and most of it did not have any sauce. The Kaiser style bun was horribly dry and because I was not going to eat it anyway I did not complain, but I should have. The french fries, for which they charge extra, were good but it seems a little ridiculous to include chips and then up charge for fries. The absolute worst thing we had was chicken dumpling soup. Because it was at the beginning of the meal I did not want to complain or hurt our friends feelings but I should have sent it back. The dumplings were literally like rocks — dry and extremely tough and tasteless. The broth was the exact opposite it was so overpowering in flavor — really salty — so much so that I thought I would gain a pound from retaining water. It was obviously made from that powdered or paste soup base that uses salt as it’s number one ingredient. Avoid the dumpling soup at all costs. The ice cream’s for which they charge $.99 when added to a dinner, were both fresh with no ice crystals. All in all this is a typical Greek diner with management has probably run it for 40+ years and you can pretty much tell from the menu. You’ll get a solid meal but you most likely won’t be impressed unless you order the Grecian style cod which I now regret not having ordered. Our friends, who are real foodies, swear by that dish. Next time…

Great food, good service, and I love the atmosphere! This is great place for breakfast, got sat right ways, and food came shortly after. I had the meat lover skillet with green peppers, with pancakes. I would highly recommend:)

Pros: Pretty great coffee. Prompt seating. Fast service(not for large parties). Cons: The food is mediocre and even a little inedible. I was there twice in one weekend, once with a large party and the second time with one other person. In general, the party was pleased with the food but we were all starving. I mean, my pancakes were burned. How do you burn pancakes? The second time I was there, I couldn’t even finish my breakfast. I had french toast(disgusting), hash browns(crispy to the point of crumbling), and eggs(ok). I finally ordered toast so I didn’t leave hungry and they even burned that. Actually, I think it was made on the stove top because it tasted like other food. Do NOT sit in the section near the kitchen. It’s loud and the tables are uncomfortably slanted. I usually love greasy spoons but will pass on this one.

I tell you what, the bread here is scrumptious. I have never seen or tasted Bread like this before. Once you’re seated and ordered, they will bring you out a nice elegant basket painted black and obviously packed with a durable frame. Inside lies rows and shelves of crackers and crackers. On top of all that they manage to fit enough plates for everyone to put their Bread on, which happens to be right next to the plates. When they bought this out, I thought it to be a terrific idea and was a very cute touch. Now, the bread. It was a fluffy and very moist, almost pastry. It wasn’t Sweet but it had the heavenly qualities of such. Do t even get me going about spreading butter on it. I like to spit the bread in half and butter all the insiders, and eat the two halves like a sandwich. All in all, the bread was soo good and I highly recommend going here. I also got the meat lovers skillet which was great.

I’M SOUPEDUP I found a place that is the complete opposite of the Seinfeld Soup Dude. You can do no wrong here when getting your soup and it keeps flowing. They run an All You Can Eat Soup & Salad special for $ 6.99. That is a great deal. Plus you have the choice on weather you want a bowl or cup. The menu lists two daily soups but when I typically walk in they always have 5 – 6 soups showcased in the front of the restaurant. Soup is a big deal here. There is always a special going on for Soup to Go. Soup can be purchased in 3 different sizes with 32oz being the largest. Sweet Mother of Soup Bowl! And its not expensive. I believe it is under $ 6. They also run a deal. Buy 2 of the same sizes of soup and get a third for free. So you could walk out of here with 96oz of soup for under $ 12. Soup It Up Baby!!! Today I decided to do the Triathlon of Soup. I started out with a bowl of Broccoli Cheese Soup. I must say that it was delicious and full of cream. I would not expect anything less from this great local family diner. Since I was all warmed up I moved to the Cream of Chicken Rice. Again really delicious and full of creamy goodness. Those two were the star of the soup show. I decided to take a break and get my salad. It was an okay mix of 90% iceberg and 10% romaine. There was cucumbers, tomatoes, radishes, croutons & cheddar cheese. I also got the blue cheese dressing on the side. I picked a good time to go healthy. Not! Okay back to the soup. I next went with a cup of Tomato Bisque and I must admit it was really delicious. I was really surprised. I was very letdown with the Vegetable Soup. It was really tasteless. I’m glad I only got a cup because I couldn’t even eat it. I hate wasting but it was not good at all. I am also on the fence with the chicken dumpling. The broth was delicious but salty. The dumplings were very big and dry in the middle. They needed to be a little smaller. Plus if you got a cup of the dumpling soup it was full of dumpling. Our waitress was young and very absent minded. We would order stuff and she would forget or bring the wrong thing. It was hard to get mad because it wasn’t like she was doing it on purpose. It was just her age. She would even repeat what we wanted back to us and she would then bring the wrong item. She even caught herself once when she realized she brought me the wrong soup. Hopefully she will get better in time or realize she doesn’t want to be a waitress. The kids meals here are a great deal. We were able to get a grilled cheese, milk & apple sauce for $ 3.65. We then added on a soup for $ 1. Like we didn’t have enough soup going on at our table or in our belly. I almost forgot about the bread basket. I’m sure it broke some health codes. The buns were stacked on top of a basket full of packaged crackers and breadsticks. Which I’m sure were touched by several other diners before me. They also shove the bread plates on the side of the basket. Again touching the packaged crackers. I know this is not fine dinning but health codes still need to be followed. I was on a soup high so I looked away. Nothing was gonna bring me down. This place is cute and a center piece of the community. The owner walked around wishing a Happy Holiday to her regulars which seemed to be every table but us. Yeah we were skipped. I’m not hurt but it was an opportunity for her to get out of the box and meet new people. It’s nice to meet new people. Who knows you might even make us regulars! Maybe next time you’ll say hello. If you’re traveling through Antioch and your looking for some good diner food or to fill up your belly with soup, then this is the place. It’s open 24 hours which is a bonus in this town. Next time I need a soup fix at 2am then I’m coming here. Soup Up!
