Verizon Wireless

Visited this store today, wary of the reviews I read for this location only to be pleasantly surprised by the service I got. The staff was very personable and knowledgable. I was having an issue with my bill, but they gladly helped me straighten it out. Would definitely recommend this location!

Horrible piece of shit people the woman manager is a horrible bitch and is useless!!! They fucked up big time giving us a 8gb phone and charging us for a 64gb for over 3 months and we just found out cuz it takes a while to fill those Gb so when we went into fix it she said no it’s your fault! Fuck her!!! She’s a horrible piece of shit person and is going to hell

These people are liars and cheats, so be careful.
Note that this is not a «Verizon» store, but a franchise. Even though the signage from Rte 173 clearly displays «Verizon Wireless», it is owned and operated by the Cellular Connection, which runs other Verizon franchises throughout Northern Illinois. As such, they do not have to offer you any of the phone deals that you might see advertised. And this store will charge for full price for the phone, even if Verizon is advertising $ 150.00 off. And everything they sell will be 10 to 30 percent more expensive than a Verizon store charges.
That I don’t necessarily mind. They are not a corporate store, so they have to buy the phones on their own. As a result, they will not have all of Verizon’s available phones, and it is hard for them to make money by honoring all the discounts. Verizon itself does not make money selling phones, it makes money on the data plans. This store makes money on the phones and repairs.
My problem is that this store has shaky ethics (but then it is in Illinois, what else is new). This store leads you to believe that they do offer all of Verizon’s deals. They don’t advertise the deals, but if you ask about them, they will stare at a sheet and then tell you that the deal must be over, or that it was never offered, or that they never heard of it.
I noticed they were selling a Droid Turbo for the full retail price ($ 650.00). Verizon had been advertising the Droid Turbo at $ 499.00. I asked about this. Referred to a couple of pieces of stapled together papers, and they said that deal was over because they could not find it on their sheet. I also asked about the phone trade-​in special. They said that must have been over as well. Well, it may have been over at their store and all other stores under the Cellular Connection franchise, but it was also a lie, because Verizon was still selling Droid Turbos for $ 499.00. The ethical thing would be to inform the customer that you have to go to a Verizon Corporate store. Instead they play dumb. «What, $ 499.00 for this phone? That’s crazy talk!»
They will also try to push into older model phones. They really tried to get me to buy a Galaxy S5 at full retail price. Why would anyone buy an older model phone when the S6 and the S6 Edge are available? Because they have a bunch of S5’s in stock that they need to get rid of.
Beware of this store or any «authorized» or «premium» retailer. Go to a corporate store. Go the Verizon’s website, click on Store Locator, and in the search bar make sure that you leave blank «include authorized retailers». All corporate Verizon stores will show up in red. Rip-​off franchise retailers will show up in gray. Avoid all gray stores. This is a gray store. They will rip you off, Avoid them.

Great experience at this Verizon location. I came in looking for help with some issues I had with my phone. I didn’t really expect to receive the help I needed because I had been to other Verizon locations and they didn’t seem that interested in assisting me, but much to my appreciation, they helped resolve my issues!
My brother came with me because his service contract with another company was up and he was considering switching carriers. He wasn’t sure about Verizon, but with the help of Chong and Jacob, he made the switch! They were both attentive and friendly and the atmosphere in the store was great.
When it’s time for my husband and I to upgrade or when we have any issues or questions, we will be returning to this location because of the great customer service.
