Cool cowboy atmosphere. Live music. Decent food, but they charge extra for everything: water, split plates, the kids meal is same size as adult meal but more $ for adults.

Save your sanity and go somewhere else. Do not try to do business with these people. No one communicates with each other, they do not know how to treat customers with respect, they do not know how to conduct business, they go back on what they promised, and they do not care what you think — Jessica, especially. They are quick to pass the blame even if they are the ones who made the mistake. This place is not worth your time or money. The Ghost Town is worth a visit but find a different place to eat. I cannot imagine how other people have had pleasant experiences here. Cowboy Dan is the only decent person that works there. Stay far, FAR away.

An interesting place to visit. A sort of ok place to eat, but not on my list of places to revisit. Went here with the family to visit the«ghost town». I had the burger for lunch. It was ok, but if swear there was a curry powder seasoning on it. The grilled cheese sandwich was just a slice of American cheese between bread. Guess we’re spoiled with better quality cheese. I guess, given the tourist type of area, I shouldn’t have been surprised. Our server was very nice and the gentleman playing music was decent, but margaritaville isn’t a country western song!

I liked the old west décor, and the service was fast, and friendly, but my chicken sandwich was sub-par. The chicken had a nice grilled flavor(with grill marks), but the meat appeared(and tasted) processed.

Fun little town. Good eats. Venue is very interesting but must be more fun on a weekend. Good service

We went here on a hot summer day after being at Canyon Lake. We sat at the bar, and orders some way over priced drinks and asked for water. The bartender looked annoyed that we asked for a water. The bar tender barely spoke to us and when our food came out and we asked for napkins and silverware he looked at me like I was from Mars. This was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. The place is so dirty(which I’m kind of ok with because of the Saloon, Wild West feel) but there were layers of dust all over the place. And it really STUNK like horse dung. If you like a hot stinky bar with awful service and less than adequate food, you will be happy. Otherwise, don’t waste your money and just enjoy the scenery instead.

Do not eat here if you like decent food or a/c or a clean bathroom. I was stunned at how awful everything was. The quality was like store bought frozen food heated in the microwave. Yet the high prices reflected a quality the food does not match. Rustic western atmosphere was ok but overall I’d call this a mammoth mistake. You’ve been warned.

Make sure you have reeeeally low expectations and you might enjoy the experience. Maybe. The bathrooms look like they haven’t been cleaned since the 1800’s and everything is broken, there is no air conditioning, flies are everywhere, and finding someone who works here is not easy. They seem more interested in playing chess(as the bar tender was doing), or hanging out on the balcony talking. If «rustic,» loud music that’s too loud to talk, and being ignored is your thing, this is the place for you.

For a tourist restaurant it’s not horrible. They have loads of seating and service was good. Typical kids menu, but I was surprised by the kids portions. My 5 yr olds’ hamburger was huge and my 8 yr old couldn’t finish her chicken strips. Bloody Mary was sufficiently spicy. The tuna salad sandwich was decent, but served on white bread despite offering and asking for sourdough. The biggest complaint… they only had three highchairs(or so the sever said). We were at our table a good 20 minutes before getting the highchair for our 2 yr old. If we were in a big city with me options, I would be more disappointed. We sat on the deck which was nice because they had a wonderful country cover singer. He was nailing the music so much so that my cousin thought it was the radio.

The best steak I’ve had in a long long time. I also loved the cactus margarita the town is cool. I will go back during the day when all the merchants are open.

Awful. Awful service. Just rude beyond belief. Employees yelling at each other, swearing at customers. Just couldn’t have been worse.

Cowboy Dan and his amazing staff deserve an A+. After we got married at the Church on the Mount in Goldfield we had our reception at the Mammoth Steakhouse. We had our 50 guests choose between the steak and chicken. As a bride you worry about the food, is it going to be good? It was AMAZING! From the moment we got there the saloon not only gave us a great reception, but an amazing experience. The kids even had a group picture with some of the cowboys! The steak was juicy and done to perfection. The chicken was also amazing, done and very juicy. Our guests were delighted and I couldn’t ask for anything better!

This ghost town saloon and now restaurant had pretty good service and a fun western ambiance. I enjoyed my burger. Oversized and delicious. Good lunch. There was a live country artist singing all the George Strait hits and doing it well. The surrounding streets are full of local merchants and local products. It’s a very enjoyable time for dates and family.

First of all, I love the atmosphere of the ghost town and the view from the restaurant is gorgeous. We were hot, tired and hungry at the end of our day so we stopped in for a bite to eat. The place was empty yet it took a long time for someone to take our order. We planned on getting a steak but the menu was very limited, my iced tea tasted old and the flies out numbered us 10 – 1. We were still starving so we ordered a green chili quesadilla to hold us over until we were home or found a better option. The server was friendly but very busy at the bar while we were in the dining area. It took a long time for our order to come out on a disposable styrofoam plate. The green chilies were obviously canned and overwhelmed the quesadilla. It took forever to get our check. Extra star for ambiance but we won’t be back here to eat.

Way over priced for inedible food. We ordered 2 two grilled chicken burgers, a 14 oz steak all of which were over cooked, processed, and unrecognizable. I wouldn’t recommend this place for anyone. I would have given it a 1 star except the waitress was so kind and really tried to make up for the food.

We stopped in for a snack and a drink in the middle of our day of touring Goldfield. The owner works behind the bar and is fun and entertaining. We ordered a burger and mentioned that we were going to share it. It arrived already cut in half in two separate baskets with the fries separated between the two as well. Very nice! Burger was pretty good. It has lots of grilled onions and pepper-jack cheese. It’s tasty. Fries alongside were just standard. The people watching here is out of this world. It’s truly something you have to see to believe… maybe a native Arizonian would not be impressed but I thought it was like something out of a movie. Make sure to stop in here when you’re at Goldfield! One thing that took this place down a notch for me… owner was wearing a gun, which he proceeded to prove to us was loaded. This may be a normal thing in Arizona, but it’s shocking to me and not something I want to see. So there’s that.

Sometimes on Unilocal,as in life, an establishment can be a multi-faceted beast. Reading some of the other reviews, it seems that I may have lucked out not ordering food here, however my experience was quite pleasant. So, I came to the ghost town as my first stop along the Apache trail. My girlfriend had always wanted to visit a ghost town and we saw the sign and gave it a shot. Since this review is based on venue, service and temperature of the beer on a hot summer day in AZ and not on food, I have to comment on this«ghost town». Now, the fact that this is called a ghost town, to me, is BS. When I imagined visiting a ghost town in AZ I imagined being one of maybe three people there, and it being kinda creepy and maybe seeing the remains of a human skeleton. No. This is like an outdoor mall built 100 years ago. Needless to say I wasn’t the biggest fan of this whole deal, but there was an Oasis for me, and that was the Mammoth Steakhouse & Saloon. Not only did this place supply me refuge from shopping and train rides, but they had the coldest beer I’ve had in a long time, and the funniest bar tender I may have ever met. There seemed to be a few regulars in the place, surprising enough, but mostly it was just tourists and not that busy. We sat at the bar drank a couple beers and hid from the heat, listening to the antics of what seemed to be the regular bartender of this joint. The place itself, is decorated with lots of old time western type stuff, and cowboy hats. I found the hats to be pretty interesting because each one had a date on it referring to the day it was donated as decoration. I don’t remember the bar tenders name, but he spoke 6 languages and didn’t finish elementary school. He is an older guy with a very unique accent, you can’t miss him. Ask if he will give you his college education.

After hiking at the Arboretum on a fairly warm Father’s Day, we trekked over to the saloon in the hopes of finding some great bbq and live cowboy music. I was impressed by the scenery and old west, ghost town decorum, but the food, service and entertainment left much to be desired. There was lots of seating in the dining area, while the bar served several thirsty customers. Large standing fans were used to cool the main area near the stage and we were told that the ceiling fans didn’t work. It was warm but not nearly as bad as outside. It didn’t matter, we were hungry and ready for some music! I ordered the Mammoth burger, medium rare, with everything on it. What I received was a very *well done*(no pink) burger slathered in mushrooms and onions, light tomato and lettuce. The mushrooms were overly slimy and large, and the onions should have been grilled more. I ended up picking them all off. Regardless, the burger was low quality and the bun fell apart halfway through. The fries were OK — crispy and salty. My stepmom ordered the burger too and the waitress confused it with my dad’s order, removing the bun from both she and my dad’s sandwich. When told about the mistake, the waitress insisted that’s what she had ordered, citing another special request that my stepmom never made. She corrected it by bringing out a bun… a very sloppily fixed error. My gf’s pulled pork sandwich was low quality too, being quite mushy and flavorless. We were under the impression that the music would start at noon, but it was nearly 1pm when a crooning cowboy guitarist made the stage. We were done at the point. If they could step up the service and and food quality, the saloon would really enhance the ghost town experience at this unique outdoor attraction. Unfortunately, it left me with an uneasy stomach and another reason to hit the road.
