Great old school diner-café. The service is friendly and fast, the food is cheap, plentiful, and delicious.

I was going to a different café, and missed my turn. Saw Mickey’s while turning around, noticed that the parking lot was packed, and decided to give it a try. We were met at the door and greeted immediately, asked about our seating preference, and seated right away. Dacor is old-school A.J., antique signs, route 66 stuff. The server was prompt, good at her job, and friendly. A couple of kids were circling the restaurant continuously, keeping coffee and water cups full and taking plates. NO problems or complaints whatsoever with the service. We ordered the special; chicken-fried steak, eggs, home-fried potatoes, biscuit and gravy for $ 7.50. The chicken-fried steak was OK, but looked more like a pre-made item that came out of a case than a hand-made item. A small disappointment, but it tasted fine. The eggs were large, fresh, and cooked exactly to order. Home-fries were done just as I like them. The biscuit was fluffy and flaky, and the gravy was the real prize of the meal. While I much prefer a hand-made chicken-fried steak, nothing at all to complain about in this meal. I read all of the negative reviews, and I had none of the problems that others have complained about. The coffee was strong and hot, prices were good, service was nop-notch. As we paid our bill, the owner and cashier both asked if we were happy with the meal and service, and thanked us for our patronage. I will definitely be back to try a number of things that I saw others enjoying around the room.

Mickey’s is the quintessential greasy spoon with personality! Their biscuits and gravy have several twists which exhibit this trait. If you are lucky enough to arrive when they have the Portuguese Sausage Linguisa, treat yourself to one of the finest breakfasts west of the Mississippi. They serve breakfast throughout their operational hours!!! Their name creates mass confusion upon rendezvous. Lots of AJ history here. From the spunky former owner Micky and the property owner Cleo to the new co-owner/workers Kendra and Debby. You can actually feel like family within this establishment. Quite rare experiences in today’s world.

Was searching on Unilocal for a breakfast place to go on Sunday morning with my family. Found this with good reviews. When we arrived at +/-10.30Am it was packed and we had to wait outside for couple minutes but it was pretty fast ! Traditional American food, service was efficient and fast, coffee was $ .90 !!! And really good!

What a great breakfast. I had a bunch of people tell me about this place so I had to go try it out. If you are hungry you will not be let down. I had the biscuits and gravy and wow the portions are huge. The service was great I would totally go back for another meal.

I visited Mickey D’s Café at 10AM on a Thursday thinking it might be a little less crowed than described in so many reviews — well, it was pretty much all filled up even at that very late breakfast hour(or early lunch — LOL). And … I can see why. A cup of coffee, with unlimited refills, was something like 90 cents … wow! And the bargains don’t stop there. The menu prices are quite low for the HUGE quantities of home made food you get. The only one negative I would say is that they don’t have delicious freshly made house salsa available. In my mind, salsa is a must(although they do offer Pace Picante Sauce) for dining in the Southwest. If they had some fresh Hatch New Mexico Green Chile available, then that would be over the top for me! I highly recommend this Café and I will be back soon.

Tried this place out yesterday. It was pretty busy upon arriving at 10:30am. Waited approx 10 minutes to be seated. Pretty cool atmosphere, with old Pepsi memorabilia and vintage gas pumps as part of the décor. Service was friendly and the pancakes, eggs, and bacon were good. My coffee took quite a while to reach my table. I had to flag down my server and ask for it again. Finally arrived with my food. I’m willing to chalk that up to «it happens» and I will be back again to see how the 2nd visit turns out.

This place is as old school traditional as a «greasy spoon» diner can get and I say that w/respect. A friend recommended it to us. We went on a Saturday & it was a full house! After a brief wait, we were sat, offered drinks & given menus. Every employee we saw greeted us and was very friendly. Our food arrived fast & hot. I had the Denver & my husband had the chicken fried steak. It was really good & you can’t beat the prices. All the food being served around us also looked great! We will definitely be going back.

Stopped in for breakfast and saw the chicken fried steak, had to try it. It had a good crunch, the gravy was good. It all could’ve used a little salt, but once I added some it was fabulous! The place was packed, the service was good and friendly and the prices were totally reasonable. Would absolutely go back! Someone at the next table had a burger and I want to go back and try one, it looked delicious.

My buddy Phil suggested we try this place. Nice little restaurant in AP. Friendly, good service with reasonable prices. Lots of parking. Definitely adding to our list. Food was great. We had a regular breakfast, two eggs an hash browns. I had a Lil piggy omelet with side of links. The sausage links were huge.

LOVELOVELOVE this place! Good down home cooking at it’s best. Everything is fresh and served by a friendly waitress. Our hashbrowns were perfect & tasty, the eggs perfectly cooked. They out did themselves when they made a ‘happy face’ strawberry pancake for my 6 yr old. Since the new owners took over, you can tell the quality of the food has improved as well as the cute atmosphere. Water & coffee kept full, food came lightening fast and was deeelish! Coffee is a bit weak but it’s drinkable. That’s what I expected though, being a coffee snob. :) Don’t waste your time or $ going anywhere else in AJ, THIS is the place to feel as if you’re at your mom’s table and if you’re lucky, you’ll get a hug before you leave! One downfall is the TV’s, I don’t understand why they’re there and blaring throughout the restaurant. But as soon as my food arrives, I don’t really care!

We eat here all the time. We frequently hold large meetings here as well. They are very accommodating. Since the new owners took over, the food has improved. They also installed carpeting to cut down the noise level. The original staff is still here, which is great. They do a good job of taking care of us. Even when there is a crowd, we don’t wait long to receive our food.

Eat here on a regular basis and have for many years. Lots of changes going on with the new owners. Free refills on drinks, new items on the menu, better décor, not so… old…for lack of a better word. Wait staff is always nice, place is always clean food is always good. Comfort food. A bit busy in the winter when then the snowbirds are flocking and hard to get in but worth the wait for breakfast.
