Wine is good, but it’s really about the wine tasting, which is both affordable and interesting. The family running the vineyard puts a lot into their tasting, and it shows. They do a great job explaining each wine, going through the various notes and other aspects of each bottle. They also have wine for sale. Their vineyard goes beyond simply wine. There’s also a great outdoor area for people to sit and have lunch. There’s even a playground for the kids!

What a little gem. There is 18 acres of land the owners own. They have animals on their land as pets. Very relaxed atmosphere. We got to try 5 wines for $ 5.00 and got to keep our glass. The weather was not great when we went there so we did not get to enjoy the outdoors. I did see that they do have a lot of events so check out their calendar.

Great friendly staff! Very knowledgable and don’t forget to check when live music is… for us it was Sat 2 – 4. Great Merlot blend… Matador

Stopped by this weekend as part of my Bachelorette festivities. The service was great, the people were friendly. The prices were awesome! We ended up buying a bottle and drinking it there while taking in the scenery. Delicious and lots of fun!

Wonderful vineyard and fabulous people. Hosted an event there and everyone loved it. Great wine tasting that had us purchasing many bottles to enjoy at home. The location has tons of character. For those not familiar with the area, it’s very close to the American Tobacco Trail and a beautiful location. You feel like you are out in the country, but it’s easily accessible from HWY64 in Apex. I love that there is a family owned business with this type of quality in Apex. It’s a true find. Take a tour, try some nice local wine and enjoy.

What a great find! It’s so exciting to have a family owned and operated vineyard right here in Apex. My mom took me here while I was visiting for the weekend for $ 5 you get to taste 5 different wines and the good part is that they are not all your typical muscadine sweet wines that are typical at NC wineries. I bought a great bottle of a chardonnay/sauvignon blanc mix to share while we sat outside listening to some great bluegrass music. There was a pet adoption event going on so it was a great place to bring the kids to run around and hang out in the great outdoors. I will be calling them to find out more about planning events at the winery — such a great place to have a small wedding or reception.

I’ve been on a few winery tours in my day, and only a handful stick out as much as the experience I had at Cloer Family Vineyards. What it lacks in size and production, it clearly makes up for in character and a welcoming charm. The vineyard is family owned and located in Apex, NC with all wine production taking place on the premises from growing and picking the grapes to making the wine to bottling and corking the bottles. The vineyard itself is pretty small, but on some beautiful property complete with a small pond, a firepit with surrounding Adirondack chairs, and a beautiful patio where you can sit and enjoy your wine. The Cloers clearly do exude a «you’re a part of the family» vibe when welcoming you into their winery and conducting the tours. Mrs. Cloer led the tour on the day that I visited, and you would be hard pressed to find a more enjoyable tour guide given her knowledge, wit, and approachability. The tours themselves are reasonably priced($ 5 to sample all 5 available wines), though I visited as part of a prepaid multi-winery tour package. Nonetheless, this vineyard was the only one to offer a complimentary full pour of the wine of your choice. Score! The wines themselves were heavily of the muscadine variety(as would be expected). Normally not a fan of this NC region wine variety, I actually found most of the samples here to be quite enjoyable. My favorite was a red called Matador, though the white Veranda was a close second. With such an inviting atmosphere, a decent events calendar(including Science of Wine classes, date nights, and live music in the spring/summer), I am definitely planning on coming back to enjoy some libations on the patio once the weather warms up!

This was my first visit to a vineyard, but I have to say that it was a wonderful experience. They have ladies night every other month and I went when they had spa night. Of course you can buy product if you want, but I didn’t and felt just fine. The wine that they offered for tasting was really awesome. It’s all muscadine wine and all very tasty. :) I will be going back to purchase a few bottles.

I am in love with Cloer Family Vineyards!!! I am a supporter of family owned and operated businesses and Cloer Family Vineyards is just that! The vineyard is owned and operated by the Cloer Family in Apex, North Carolina. They grow their own grapes and make their own wine on the facility. They have five wines to sample and purchase in their on site store. I started going to the vineyard about 6 – 8 months ago after a search for local wine. I noticed on their website that they were in Apex and as it turned out only a few miles from my home. My first experience was wonderful! I was welcomed as if I were an old friend. I stood at the bar and for only $ 4 sampled the four wines that they had for purchase(since then they have added a fifth wine and an extra dollar to sample… which is still a great deal!). I ended up buying two bottles that day. In addition to being very welcoming the wine is amazing. The Carlos is my favorite and the prices a great as well. The wine is only $ 10-$ 15 per bottle. After my first wonderful experience at the vineyard I decided to visit again on a Saturday afternoon during this past summer. I took a girlfriend along and we had a great time as well. In addition to sampling the wine we had the chance to tour the facility and speak to the owner about wine making process and the chemistry involved. It was very informative and made the wine experience that much more intimate and welcoming. After our tour my friend I headed out to the patio and spent an hour or so drinking the bottle of wine that we bought and talking in the warm sun. It was such a nice outing to experience with a good friend. My next experience at the vineyard involved attending a ladies’ night out. Every other month the vineyard hosts a ladies only night where the theme may range from a fashion show to a spa night. The night out with your girlfriends is so nice and when coupled with wine it is a night that can’t get much better. I love the vineyard so much I actually bought bottles of wine for my friends for Christmas and am considering hosting a bridal shower there. According to the website they have space for a small wedding and have hosted photo shoots there as well. I would recommend the vineyard to anyone. I am not a big wine connoisseur and did not feel intimidated to ask questions to improve my wine knowledge. I have one more positive note about the vineyard. Even though there is alcohol involved I would say that the vineyard is family friendly. When I went Christmas shopping there I took my two children with me and they had a chance to look at the family cows and meet the owners children. The owner’s two girls even get involved during ladies nights to take money or give out door prizes. My only complaint is that it is a new vineyard and not well known. Currently you can only purchase the wine at one wine bar in Apex. I wish that I could go to local restaurants and order a glass of my favorite wine.
