Great prices. Went on a Thursday afternoon. Not crowded at all. Went for a quick 9 holes. You really can’t beat the price for someone who isn’t an avid golf player but wants to play a round. Carts were newish and did their job. You don’t come here for a county club experience, I understand that. However some of the greens are in really bad shape! It would be nice if people would at minimum fix their divots but the greens look like they are teeing off from them. The fairways were in decent shape. Since we weren’t avid golf player and just wanted to play a quick 9 holes, it was perfect.

Great beginner course, and the driving range is awesome! Staff are friendly and will bend over backwards to help you. Food staff is also very friendly! I can’t say enough about this place! I love it!

Knight’s Play Golf Center is a 27 hole, par three perfect for beginner or less experienced golfers. The course is lovely, there’s a driving range, the carts are newish, and there’s a restaurant on site with a lunch/​bucket of balls deal. And you can’t beat the price. Plus, they offer all kinds of specials. Mondays have half-​price green fees. Ladies have half-​price green fees on Thursdays. We played 9 holes, with a cart on a Monday afternoon and the total cost was $ 19 for both of us.
The course has positives and negatives; there are several water hazards to keep things interesting, but we found the greens to be really slow. Also, lots of players don’t repair their divots or holes they create on the greens– we chalk this up to inexperience. As for a dress code, it doesn’t seem that one is enforced. Knight’s Play is the perfect place if you are a beginner or want to work on your short game.

Attempted to play here this evening and there was a group in front of us that was incredibly intoxicated and was playing extremely slow. We ended moving back a couple of holes to try to play the nine we paid for and sure enough the marshall comes and starts screaming at us. We just wanted to get what had paid for and even after explaining this to the marshall he started cursing. Top golf can’t come soon enough.

Really fun. Great practice facility. I may be a little biased because I live 30 seconds away.
Usually crowded, but still a great time. I go here a few times a week.
Take the kids or the wife/​girlfriend and drink some beers and have a good time!

Perfect for a date night or family night out for golf enthusiasts. My husband is a golf professional and loves this course! Great for beginners and pros alike, plus the food is awesome. Definitely try the boom boom sauce! Can’t wait to spend some of our summer nights there

As long as your expectations are for a cheap round of golf that you can play anytime, then you’ll have a blast here. If you’re expecting a country club experience, then you’ll be disappointed, but I’m guessing that clientele isn’t even reading reviews of Knight’s Play.
The maintenance isn’t stunning, sometimes the greens are cut pretty long and inconsistently, and sometimes the grass on the tee is longer than the rough, but hey, you can play til after 11PM with the lights, and that’s amazing. There are also a bunch of water hazards, including an island hole, that make the rounds interesting. They have 27 holes here, so there’s a lot of variety, and also a lighted driving range with both natural turf and mats to hit off of.
Finally, the prices can’t be beat. I’m a frequent flyer here, and buy the 10 round punch cards for a hundred bucks.
$ 10 for 18 holes? Yup, I’m all the way in.

I called Knights Club today for information on their golf lessons. The man I spoke too was extremely rude and not helpful. I will not be giving this course my money.

At lunchtime they have a deal for $ 9 Sandwich, chips and drink, PLUS a bucket of balls! What a great way to leave the office behind for an hour (plus some, at my pace) and get some fresh air and sunshine. The food here is good and the folks behind the lunch counter are friendly and professional. Same goes for the folks behind the golf counter! They have similar offers for after work deals.
This is one of the few golf courses that is open at night, so you can enjoy it any time of the day. They also offer quite a few kid’s classes and lessons for all ages.

Knight’s Play is probably the most convenient place to go to if you want to golf. Convenient not really bc of the location but because of their hours. I’ve hit balls close to midnight before. The latest I’ve played a round of golf was at 10pm!
The course itself is ok, they only have par 3’s. However, everything is kept up fine and it’s fun to play, even if you only need 3 clubs (pitch, putter and maybe a 7i)
I rarely use karts but they do have good gas ones. Again, everything is just par 3’s so you would be better off without it. 9 holes is about $ 10, sometimes cheaper depending on the time that you go and the day. Driving range is ok price wise, definitely not the cheapest in the area though. I bought a $ 150 card and lost it after the first use. I wish they link the card to an account like they do at the other place I go to. If they had some kind of membership thing here, that would be great.

Great place to work on your short game. Driving range allows you to hit off mats and ground. Half off Mondays.

Knights place is a very nice facility to play golf (slow greens, but nice). I went out this past Saturday night with 2 buddy I went to college with to catch up and enjoy a round in the lights. Background: I am 23 yrs, with a professional job in Raleigh, I am a past high school, middle school, and collegiate golfer; I am just stating I know common golf courtesy. I have never played at Knights play before but have heard it is really fun. We had a 3-​some walking 18 holes tee time of 8:20 pm. my playing partners are not professional golfer or anything but have played some golf (100 rounds or so each). I suggested that we cut back on the carrying and take only enough SW’s and putters for each of us and just one full set of irons for all three of us to tee off with in one bag.(I.E. we would only need one 4 iron since the furthest hole is 194 yards, etc). We showed up to the first tee and got questioned on why three people are using one bag, I explained this to the starter and he said we usually don’t allow this but I will allow it, as long as you keep up with pace of play. This starter was not the nicest, but he worked with us. We played the front nine in about an hour and 20 mins, which isn’t that bad for a Saturday night (it gets busy Saturday nights). So we turned and went to the back where there is another starter waiting to make sure we have paid and asked to see or tags (receipt for paying to play). We showed him the tag and then got the same question about the bag, I explained again, and told him we just played the front in a reasonable amount of time, so he gets out of his cart comes up and inspects my bag to see how many clubs we had. He reaches down and grabs my putter head cover to make sure there is a putter in there (its a Scotty Cameron so I use a head cover). I could not believe this, he really disrespected me then, I mean I am a paying customer, I am not a bum. So he said that will be okay as long as we keep up with the group in front of us. I let him know the group in front of us was a 5-​some, he said that wasn’t against the rules. So I asked why he was questioning us because we had been keeping up just fine all night. three holes after this he beginning to follow my group fore the remaining 6 holes which is fine but I felt like he stereotyping against me and we were just playing golf and we didnt even have carts so how much could we really mess up? So if you plan on playing golf here know that you will not be treated nicely. They have alot of made up rules that are not posted on the course, club house, or website (how many bags you must have, 5-​somes can play, etc.)This place does however hire the rudest and most ill mannered employees out of any golf course I have been to, but is a really nice golf course. So the course gets those 2 stars and the employees gets negative stars if possible.

its the only night golf game in town. only reason i’m holding out on the 5 star is the tee boxes are really chewed up. I will play here again; especially at night. the greens are a little slow due to the type of grass (but like any putting surface, you just need to adjust your stroke) 3 different 9 hole courses to choose from…

I’m not a golfer by any stretch of the imagination, and due to the advertising of «kid friendly» and odd hours I figured this would be a great place to play for fun and even take my 10yr old child with me.
I along with my son and friend went this past weekend. To keep it short, though this place is intended for beginners, we were rudely yelled at for taking to long. I understand the rules and allowing people to play through, but in this situation we were the only people on the entire 18 holes. Initially we started with the back 9 because there were a few people on the front, and we knew that we were going to be a bit slow teaching my son. Unfortunately the staff did not see it the same way and informed us that not only were we taking to long, but it should only (even with 2 adults, and one child) take 10 minutes per hole. Clearly they have this down to a science.
We were told, rudely, to move our game to the front 9 (empty at this point) to play the last couple holes. We were also told that it cost them $ 75/​hr to have us play with the lights on (clearly this is my problem?). So we moved as demanded and finished. After we finished, they shut down. This was well before the «midnight» close time that they claim to have.
1. I suggest firing that rude old man because he isn’t helping your business. If he happened to be an owner, then odds are you’ll go out of business.
2. You advertise that you are family oriented, then don’t give your customers crap for taking time and teach the youth.
3. If you have a problem paying your bills and staying open as advertised, then I would suggest changing your hours in the off season.
I nor others I know will be going back. Dropping $ 70 to be pseudo kicked out doesn’t work for me.

I’m a bit torn on how to review and rate this place. I enjoy par 3 courses from time to time. And having a driving range not far from my home is great. Plus my 9 year old started playing about a year ago and my father takes him here all the time for both the range and to play.
Here are my problems with the place. Play is Sloooooow… Real slow most of the time. I have quit in the middle of a round before because I just couldn’t take it anymore. Slow golf kills me. I’m not a speed player. Not by any stretch. But it can be unbearable many times here. The other problem, and this isn’t so much their fault, is the length of the driving range. For 99% of people out there it is plenty long. I however am in that 1% that it is not long enough for. I used to play for Penley Shafts and Integra Heads on the Long Drivers Tour and competed for several years in the Re/​Max World Long Drive Championship. To put it bluntly, I kill the ball. 350+ is an average drive and when I am working it, 400 isn’t unusual. I was in a not so polite fashion asked to leave the range because of the distance I was hitting the ball.
OK, I’m driving it past the limits of your range. Instead of coming up and yelling at me, just let me know that you would like me to limit my range practice to irons.
But for beginners and kids, its a decent place to start. But for golfers of even average ability, it can be pretty frustrating to stand around and wait, and wait, and wait.

I have just recently started using Unilocal because I just recently got a smartphone (yes I joined very late) so I only have one check in here, but I have been going to Knight’s Play for about 2 – 3 months now. I usually go at night (after 9 PM) to hit a bucket. The hours are great because NC Summers are pretty hot and so to go after the sun is gone makes it much more endurable. It is well lit and the staff is nice. I think the golf ball buckets are reasonably priced and as another Unilocaler mentioned, there are plenty of spots, even on busy nights. The only thing that I don’t like is when you hit on the grass at the driving range, it’s very difficult because the grass there is not well kept… I can hit from the grass when we go out onto the field, but at the range part, I can’t hit it at all! but I will note that that may entirely be because my golf skills are not that good, because I see other people hitting just fine.
Going out onto the field is also nice and as also mentioned by other Unilocalers, great for beginners, I would know because I’m a beginner! It was the first field I went out onto and I had a great time!
In conclusion: great hours + great prices = thumbs up from me!

Great place for beginners. All holes are par 3 so you dont need a full set of clubs if you want to play. The 27 holes offer a great variety although I prefer the front and back 9.
They also have a putting green and chipping area as well.
They run specials all the time — like Ladies Day Thursday — half off for ladies before 5pm — SCORE!
And they also run lunch time specials — like $ 9 for a sandwhich drink and large bucket of balls — although I’ve never had their food so cant say anything about that.
The pro’s are always nice and friendly. Their «pro» shop is tiny wouldn’t really come here if you are looking for a big selection.
I love their hours… they are open anytime I’m in the mood to golf. The driving range is pretty good size and offers both hitting of grass and the mats which is great.
They do offer golf carts — but I prefer to walk.
The ground are nicely maintained.
Overall a great, reasonably priced place for beginners to get a handle on their game. If you are looking for a nicer course I suggest you check out Preston or Lochmere or drive a little farther and go a little further out and hit Pinehurst.

Lights for night play. You have to give this par 3 a try. 27 holes, a great place. Special discount if you are 55 over. Driving range and putting green.

Knight’s Play is awesome. It’s a 27-​hole lit course with mostly par 3s. The front 9 and the back 9 are the best for beginners. If you’re a beginner, grab a few irons, your pitching wedge, and your putter. You don’t need a full set. I actually bought a «sunday golf bag» just so I could take a limited number of clubs.
Dress here is very casual. You’ll see people on the course wearing everything from typical golf attire to Nike shorts and T-​shirts. However, most everyone will still observe basic golf etiquette.
The course and driving range may seem a little beat up, but as a beginner I don’t have any complaints.
They have carts here, but I honestly don’t know why you would need them unless you plan on doing the whole 27 or playing two rounds. They also serve lunch on weekdays (11am-​2pm), but I have no idea how it is. I always go to Tommy’s Deli or Paradise Pizza instead.
