The sole reason this company gets one star is for arriving promptly. The service representative was ready to leave before beginning. He was rude, obnoxious and let us know he felt our call was an inconvenience. After threatening to call again to request service, he did a few things, only because he said they would send him back later in the day and he was anxious to get it over. Without getting a freon reading, he added a charge. When asked how much he added, he said he didn’t know. We were told the other guy forgot the tank number but it felt about 2 – 3 pounds lighter. The external unit was never opened or checked. The internal unit was only partially opened and attic vents were never inspected. When outside drain was found to be underground, he dug it up, said it should not be installed in this manner but prior to leaving… he went back and covered it back up, stomped on it and then rudely stated that he was leaving it the way he found it. I cringe at the thought that anyone would be stuck using this company. It was truly a nightmare. We followed up with a service call to Air Tech of Central Florida two days later. They spent two hours servicing both units, making needed modifications and were very polite and professional. I would never recommend using Gator to anyone!!! Air Tech is our go-to company for now on!

Let me be the first to say that I have dealt with ALOTOFACPEOPLE over the last few months. My home warranty kept sending out imbeciles to my home to work on my terribly built AC. Finally after the ACEXPLODED and flooded my floors I demanded someone competent to come out and look at the system. They sent Gator AC. Mike and Brian were my angels sent from heaven. After months of a broken AC they came and swiftly and promptly dealt with my problem and were a JOY to be around. My husband and I loved them and the great energy they brought with them. Keep in mind AC guys are crazy busy during the summer months and working in 100 degree heat. They were fast, friendly and lovely. My husband and I trusted them and would have them out again any time. That is huge for first time homeowners who need trustworthy people. Thank you Brian and Mike for being so awesome. You are so appreciated in this household!

Gator did an OK job installing an air handler for me. The owner is a pretty nice guy. He told me if I needed any service to give him a call. As I was now a premium customer. About a year later my unit went down, so I gave him a call… to be told he had just gotten home and was not going back out. It was 3pm and he lives 5 minutes from me. They may be a decent company if you call at the right time, and even then you will have to schedule an appointment.

This A/C repair company was selected by our property management company to repair our A/C unit when it stopped producing cold air. We noticed the problem on a Sunday evening, put in the maintenance request, and were told to call Gator Air just to be sure they received the request. I spoke to the receptionist first thing Monday morning, and she told me she had no idea when they could get to the request. No estimate, nothing. Basically it could be any time on Tuesday, possibly. Having no time frame to go on, we called a different company that came out to take a look, but did not do any repairs. Tuesday came and went and no one from Gator Air came. Finally, I got a call on Wednesday afternoon and they came out to the house. They were very thorough in diagnosing the problem and put some freon into the system so we at least had some air conditioning in the meantime. However, the repairmen were downright upset that we’d had anyone else come to take a look at the A/C. How DARE they be called in for a second opinion? It was rather silly, considering we had no way of knowing when Gator would send anyone. Ultimately, it seems Gator did a good job — when they actually arrived. However, I found none of the people I spoke to particularly friendly. I would use this company again if, and only IF, they could somehow work out their scheduling issues. A/C problems in Florida are serious business, particularly for those of us with health issues or who have to take off work to wait.
