R & J Tree Service

The crew from R&J removed some dead spots from our trees and just did an aesthetically pleasing clearing of groupings of trees. We are completely impressed with not only their work but with their attention to customer service. Rick’s quote was very competitive and all the work he promised, with a handshake, was completed very professionally and with a complete clean-​up of the surrounding area. We also hand them cut underground roots that were growing under the patio area and before filling in the trenching from that area we were called out to see what was actually cut and where there were no roots. We elected to keep the mulch from the branches cut down and the crew made sure it was dumped in an area of our property that was accessible but not blocking any walkway or driveway. I would not hesitate to recommend R & J Tree Service to anyone.

Surprise visit today with R and J as they dropped of some beautiful wood chips and trimmings from a job. My garden is gonna explode this year with some amazing ground cover!

After reading all the great reviews on R & J Tree Service we decided to have them come out and bid our removal of 1 very large tree and 2 oversized shrubs. Their bid was much more reasonable than the competitors. I scheduled them for today. They showed up on time and their amazing crew had the job done in under four hours! They were very careful to remove any yard decorations that could be harmed by their work. My husband and I were very impressed by their skill and the thoroughness of their cleanup. They are hard workers and very personable. We have more trees to remove next winter and we will definitely use their services!

I am reposting my review because Unilocal filtered it off the home page (not sure why). I’m not affiliated in any way with this business. I was just impressed by their customer service and wanted to give them a «shout out.» Here’s what I wrote back in November 2015.
Heard about R & J Tree Service through Unilocal.I live in Orange County and needed to find a tree service that could remove a palm tree stump from my elderly aunt’s yard in Victorville. Rick was quick to provide my aunt with a quote (very reasonable, by the way) and came by within a week’s time to do the removal. My aunt said the work was done quickly and efficiently, and she was very pleased. So, thank you, R & J Tree Service! It was a pleasure doing business with you! Oh, and to all those seeking a tree service in the High Desert, I highly recommend this business!

This is the second time we have used Rick @ R & J tree service. The first time, required removal of 5 HUGE pine trees in precarious positions to homes, fences and property lines. They took them down like artists. Perfectly executed, a real work of art. This time, we had multiple trees to be removed, again in tough scary locations near house and patios, fences, etc. They removed them perfectly. Not only are they very professional, Rick and his crew of 4 young gentlemen are polite, and timely. They do fabulous work at reasonable prices, and do what they promise. They leave everything spic and span, no mess to clean up. There are not enough good words to say about R & J tree service. 10 stars. Thank You very much. Victor & Pam B.

I called R&J Tree Service and another local tree service. Both came out that morning and gave me a quote. I had a tree that was next to my driveway and it was just starting to lift up the concrete so I needed to nip it in the bud before it got worse. Rick gave me a better quote and was able to come out the very next morning. His crew of four or so showed up and removed one 30 ft Aleppo Pine. The stump was ground down to below surface level. They also trimmed seven other trees, per our discussion. These trees are over 20 years old. Most of the trimming was at the bottom but they also trimmed branches that were close to the top of my chimney. They showed up in the morning and were gone by around noon.
He asked if we knew anyone would want the chopped up trunk, apparently many do. My wife called around and found a cousin that wanted the firewood. So he left it behind in my driveway. She is picking up her free firewood this morning. The rest of the trimmings were chopped up and hauled away.
I found R&J as the only tree service listed in the classified section of the Victor Valley Daily Press. I checked to verify that his California business license was current and he was bonded. I also did not see any bad marks on the Better Business Bureau website.
Overall, Rick was friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and did exactly what I wanted, quickly, at a good price. He takes check or cash, no credit cards. We paid with check.

Had a large Arizona Citrus tree — called Rick @ R & J Tree Service,. Rick responded very promptly with a VERY reasonable estimate and I hired him immediately. He sent in a crew of 4. They showed up ON TIME AND they were in and out within 3−½ hours and that includes them cleaning up. Nice group of young men — very respectful of person and property. Would recommend him to anyone.

I have been working on my front and back yard for the last two months removing old trees and bushes and replacing them with palms and cacti to conserve water and since they fit the area better.
There were 5 stumps I could just not cut any lower and after weeks of trying and many trips to Home Depot, a broken chainsaw, sawzall, several hand saws, lastly an axe to it, nothing worked.
We had spent a couple grand on rocks and plants and really did not want to hire help, but also just wanted these sumps GONE!
Renting a stump grinder $ 160 a day and our stumps were still too high so this was also not an option.
I called several tree services in the area and these were the only ones that actually answered the phone and were super nice.
I got an estimate for $ 30 to cut the stump to the ground and they would be there in an hour!
That was a no brainer for me and when they were here I showed them 4 other stumps and got those removed for $ 10 each!!!
In half an hour all 5 stumps were gone, I feel like a complete idiot for trying to save money and wasting weeks of time and so much hard work.
Don’t be stupid like me and call R&J Tree service, they said they could have landscaped my whole yard (almost an acre!) for $ 3000.
The service is great, they are fast, cleaned and took all the stumps with them!
