Every time I visit Wisconsin I try to stop by this place. The steak sandwiches on hard rolls are one of my faves. I usually order the prime rib with cole slaw. It goes down nicely with the Scottish ale on tap. Give them a try. You can’t go wrong.

3⁄5. It’s kind of like a local version of Perkins or Dennys. The food was decent and the service was good. The burger was probably the best thing I had. While it wasn’t special I’d certainly go back if I was in the area.

First time here. Very friendly, good place. Come here after miles of music!!! The food was good and raspberry ice tea(a little water down, but still okay).

Food is consistent. Although the burgers and steak sandwiches I have had as of late are swimming in butter and are barely seasoned, if at all. Service is usually good. Although on Fathers Day, with a fairly empty restaurant I got to eavesdrop on the conversation the entire staff was having behind the counter. I suggest the employees pick a different subject to discuss while at work, especially when they’re able to be heard by guests. I get employees gripe about hours worked, comparing wages and such, but where the conversation went after that was one that should have been done else where. Friday Fish here is something that needs to be had at least once. And the specials for holidays and Vets are a nice touch.

If you like your burger swimming in butter, then this is for you. However, not for me. They did serve me a salad with this, but it was out of a bag.

Hands down the best steak sandwich I’ve ever had. I can’t come to Wisconsin without stopping here at least once. I crave these while I’m back home in Colorado. They can’t be beat!

I’ve been to Cinders a couple times now. While I have no complaints at all about the food, on my last trip I was most impressed by our server Brittney(Kensington location). Our drinks never got below the half way mark and she was bringing us new ones and she was super patient and nice with our kids. The one part I usually hate about going out to eat is when we’re all done and the server walks up to the table and makes the big«any room for desert» announcement, ugh! Sure there is probably room in our stomachs for desert but my children don’t understand that there is hardly room in the budget for this meal, let alone desert. I then have to politely say no while I’m gritting my teeth and try to explain to my whining kids that we just aren’t going to be having desert. Well at Cinders ice cream comes with the kids meals. When we were all done Brittney came up to me and actually whispered in my ear asking if my boys got their ice cream.(she noticed that my 4 year old hadn’t hardly touched his supper) I was so excited about this very simple gesture I told my husband to make sure he tipped her extra. Of course he didn’t and I had to go back in and give her more but whatever that’s a different story!

You want true American food. Cinders is where to go to get it. I love their ham and cheese sandwiches and tenderloin sandwiches. Gotta have the criss-cuts and sour cream on the side. Or try dipping them in their home made ranch dressing. This is on my top 10 list of favorite restaurants in the fox valley.

I live a block from Cinders and go there whenever I can’t decide on something. The food is pretty good and I’m rarely disappointed with the service. The burgers and wraps are the best thing on the menu. Avoid the steak — there are better places for that. And don’t forget the crisscut fries!

Cinders is always a good place to eat. High quality and good selection. They are known for their steak sandwiches. Also have awesome criss cut french fries. Good sized portions and there are several locations in Appleton. Their newest on Kensington Dr is beautiful and has a warm northwoods feel to it.

I was in WI visiting a friend. He took me here for dinner and it is my favorite place in Appleton. The steak sandwich was delicious! The onion rings were good too. The second time I ate there, I tried the potato skins — they were okay but nothing great. The service was quick and responsive. I will definitely go back next time I’m in town.
