Yummy food. Great beer selection. Very laid back atmosphere. Try a turkey burger, it’s great!

Very good burgers here. Sweet potato fries were excellent. It is a bit loud but we still could have a good conversation. California burger was quite tasty. Parking was a bit tight but it was Saturday night. Waitress was very attentive. Beer selection was great, mostly regional and local brews nicely organized on the menu. View of the river is nice. Too cold tonight to sit outside but looking forward to it this summer.

4÷15÷2016. tried Mr Brews Taphouse for the first time. we had 5 couples. We all had a beer and a burger. ordered a basket cheese curds. between the 5 couples we were billed $ 180.00 bucks. WEALLLEFTHUNGRY. Burger are so small. its like a little snack /slider type. beers are good, but way to pricey. basket of curds was hilarious, we all sampled 2 pieces each. Guess what? I‘ll never go back again. AND i dont recommend.

Very nice scenic view of the Fox River and the valley. Bar and kitchen are on the first floor, with available seating upstairs(parking/street level). Aside from the usual appetizers of fries, cheese curds, and a few salad options, pretty much the only thing on the menu is a burger. So if you’re looking for burgers and beer, this would be a nice place to visit. Options for burgers are vast; bacon mac ‘n cheese burger, Kentucky bourbon classic(topped with fried onions, bacon, cheddar cheese, and a bourbon sauce), and the mushroom & swiss. And the beers even more abundant, with nearly 50 on tap. Quality of burger was OK, and I would like to see more on the menu. But for a burgers and beers place it’s not bad.

Great and friendly service with a great selection of beer. Odd layout — upstairs only has a handful of tables. The bar and kitchen is downstairs, with access from the patio. Decent amount of patio space to eat outside or casually drink. Acoustics aren’t the greatest, and for a few retail stores and a restaurant, there doesn’t appear to be enough parking. They advertise great burgers but can only be cooked medium well. Juicy burger with plenty of options for toppings served on a goo-tasting bun. A generous serving of fries come with different seasonings and are very greasy. Good place if you’re looking for beer and a quick burger, and can handle a noisier bar/restaurant.

This is a fun bar to visit on Thursday nights for Trivia Night! But don’t plan on shaking your groove thang here or playing bar games — this isn’t that kind of place. They have an impressive selection of local, international and craft beers at Mr. Brews Taphouse and the service is friendly and attentive. Our server knew her beers and did an awesome job keeping our drinks and water glasses filled! I like that this place offers locally sourced beef and fresh-cut fries, but neither one wowed me. The cheeseburger was overcooked(even though I asked for medium) and didn’t have much flavor. The fries were the most disappointing — super crunchy and nothing special. They offer your different options for the fries, but the«garlic parmesan» is just a salt seasoning that they sprinkle on. C’mon! Overall, fun place for a trivia night with friends, but the craft beers are pricey and the food is just average.

Great service, our bartender/waiter was helpful friendly and knowledgeable about the beers! Had the peanut butter burger! Delicious! Overall nice place! Every staff member we came in contact with was great! Will definitely be back!

The burger tasted great, the beer selection was good, it is the best selection on the east side of Appleton. The service was fast and our food order was out quickly. The setting was amazing, some people’s reviews were not helpful on here the layout is actually pretty cool. There is an upstairs sitting area, downstairs sitting area and bar and of course outside seating overlooking the river. I recommended to some of my friends and they thanked me! I will be back often…

Beer selection is great, food leaves some room for improvement. I am a frequent customer of the sister company Brews Brothers in Weston and was very disappointed in the food quality here. Burger came out fresh and hot… on a cold hamburger bun. Fries were soggy and heavily coated with Cajun seasoning. Ranch dipping sauce was initially forgotten and later brought to the table. A visit in Weston usually takes around 30 minutes, and in Appleton it took that long to receive our food in a nearly-empty restaurant. Probably won’t return.

We have visited Mr. Brew’s Taphouse 3 times now… The first two times were excellent — the beer, the food, and the wait staff. The third time, well, I just don’t know what was going on. It was about two weeks ago. They were out of turkey burgers and there were a lot of wasps outside, so everyone was coming inside to eat. It was either a Saturday or a Sunday. Maybe they were short staffed or their cook quit, but I don’t think anyone got food within an hour of ordering. The wait staff appeared unphased and unapologetic. We really weren’t in a big hurry, so we didn’t complain. But, I will think twice about going back now. Maybe it was just a bad day, but you think they would have said something about the awfully long wait for food.

Stopped in on Labor Day to check this place out. Had been watching for it to open since hearing about it earlier this spring. Love the selection of beer and yes as other reviewers have noted it is not terribly unique for other offerings in the area, BUT the location on the river brought it home for us. Unfortunately it was hot and muggy with sprinkles so we sat inside and not on the patio(next time hoping for better weather) Tried the cheese curds which were tasty — not over the top but a nice nibble. Offering of Rodney Strong chardonnay was pleasant. We sat at the bar and found the service to be friendly and personable. Didn’t order off the burger menu so holding judgment as a place to get a quick meal, but for a drink and a snack, with the ability to sit out on the patio, we will definitely be back.

My boyfriend I were interested in checking out Mr. Brews Taphouse as we are fans of craft beer and wanted to enjoy a nice evening on the patio. When we got there(very small parking shared with condos/business in building– some grass parking) the staff was cleaning out the patio(taking down umbrellas and what not) and I wasn’t sure if it was open or not for customer to eat outside– it was only 6:30pm. The staff was preoccupied with some guests. and I say that lightly(since one of them ate off the customers plate while behind the bar) so we didn’t know who to ask and no one greeted us, so we settled on eating inside. Our server did not come buy for about 10 mins asking for our drink order, although she was polite for it not being very busy I wouldn’t have thought it would take as long. As you can see from other reviews, the layout is a little strange and the noise volume is high-even with only 10 other people there. We ordered the Mushroom Swiss burger and the Weston(bbq) burger. I have to say, I was disappointed to see that these burgers cost around $ 8 and do not include a side. I am not sure what was so special about them to charge that amount. The portions are small(I expected larger due to cost) They tasted good– but no better if I grilled up some burgers at home. We also ordered the pub grub–(beer cheese/bacon covered fries) and I watched them sit under the heat lamps for a good 8 – 10 mins before our burgers were done. Once they came out the cheese had started to wax over and the fries were soggy. Not what I want to pay $ 7 for. Overall the food, meh. leave it or take it. The beer(which you can get at alot of other local restaurants) was the only saving grace. 40+ tap beers cant go wrong there. A flavor for everyone and the flight is priced about correctly– 55/7oz taps choices for $ 10 I wouldn’t say I wouldn’t go back, but if I am going to buy food at least I’ll have the correct expectation, maybe Ill just go for a beer and a view.

This is a nice getaway from the city with a nice atmosphere and view. There are plenty of beers to choose from and the burgers are awesome! The service is also excellent. If you want to take advantage of happy hour come after 4. Enjoy and relax!

Excellent first time experience! Choices of beer is great. My wife tried some samples and she even found something she liked. I recommend being served by Stephanie, she gave us the opportunity to try the different beers based on the kind of beer we were used to drinking and brought us a variety in that area to try. Not to mention the Thursday free cookies. And yummy burgers. I had the Barnyard a special for the month. It should be on the regular menu, it’s that good. Try the Pub Grub sampler, OMG!

The service was so poor, I won’t bother going back. There are far too many good places in the valley to pass up to go to this Mr Brews Tap House. My wife stopped in on a Friday night to check this place out. It was steady, but not overly packed. We could have had a table immediately, but we chose to sit at the bar, which was full, but not busy by any means. After sitting at the bar for 15 minutes, the bartender finally asked us what beer we would like. That is way to long to wait at the a bar that is not overly busy. Besides, there were plenty of employees and the bar has 2 choices; beer or wine. So all the bartender is doing is simply pouring beer or wine. There is no lengthy mixing of cocktails since there is hard liquor on site. After finishing my first beer, my wife and I sat at the bar with empty beer mugs, and a food menu, ready to order this lasted 25 minutes, and not one time did any employee say anything to us. The service was very disappointing, so we got up and left and took out business elsewhere. This place will not stay in business long if they don’t increase their service. Hopefully they will change, but I won’t be recommending anyone to go there.

The valley is in need of summer patio dining so when this restaurant opened I was excited to enjoy some craft beers and a burger relaxing in the sun. We visited mid-afternoon on a Sunday in hopes of avoiding crowds and hoping to get a patio table. The patio is small but the view is pleasant. When we walked into Mr. brews we were not greeted. So there we stood in a half full restaurant… waiting. I walked up to the half full bar and waited some more. Nothing. Finally I noticed someone in a Mr. brews t-shirt coming in from the patio and asked for a patio table. I was told to seat myself. And so we did. And there we sat for a good fifteen minutes without a stop, a nod, nothing… As we waited I noticed tables with no food and empty beer glasses. Finally a server came over and took our order. Out of chips. Out of turkey burgers. Ok… it took too long to bring our beers and I’d say a good hour to bring our burgers. The table next said they had waited 90min for 4 burgers. And they got part of the order wrong. The burgers were fine. Just fine. The service was not. We will give them a month to sort it out and then try again. Hoping they can get this figured out.

The service is fast. Bartender was friendly and conversational. Unfortunately that is where the positivity of this review ends. I had high hopes for the place, as it is in the neighborhood. The location is questionable. Not enough parking, no wheelchair access(apparently there is an elevator in the future plans). The whole set-up is awkward, lacks authenticity, and originality. I think part of the issue is the building itself. It seems like the retail space is more fitting for a coffee shop rather than a bar/restaurant. As mentioned in a previous review, the acoustics of the place are quite odd for a brand new bar/restaurant. The open concept is nice in theory, albeit, the place gets loud very easily. Outdoor patio seating is available. No WIFI. The menu is entrée only(fries/side orders extra). The burgers are of questionable value. The beef patties are exceptionally small and do not have much flavor. In other words, don’t expect much from the burgers, maybe the salad or chicken is a better option. Cheese curds are tasty, but again, the portions are small for what you are paying for. The beer selection is about average for restaurants in the«Taphouse» category. Most of the beers are from WI or the Midwest which is pretty cool to see. The price of beer here makes you wonder what exactly you are paying for… when you consider the atmosphere and the location. Even with the«happy hour» specials, the beer is totally not worth it. Unfortunately I would not recommend this restaurant. I wish I could say that there was some reason worth going and trying this place other than«its new,» but there is not. Avoid the disappointment and save some $$. The Fox Valley has so many other bar/restaurants that have a better atmosphere/food with a similar riverfront location at a more reasonable price. If you are thinking of visiting for the beer selection(40+ taps) and location, I have a suggestion; 1. Go to your nearest liquor store. 2. Build your own six pack. 3. Go to the riverfront at 201 s riverheath way 4. Have said beers on the river patio(public access). 5. Visit Mr Brew’s Taphouse to use the restroom. 6. While visiting restaurant, observe layout of restaurant, check out menu, look in awe at the 40+ taps, find someone with food, look at portions, shake your head. 7. Return to patio. 8. Finish beer. 9. Go home. Follow steps 1 – 9 When in the mood for a large selection of beer and riverfront scenery. You will save money and have just as good of a time. This is the first«Mr Brews Taphouse» I have been to. I am interested to see if my experience is consistent across the franchise or if this particular taphouse is an anomaly. I hope this place gets better. Vamos a ver.

The trail along the Fox River will bring you to the door. I anxiously waited for the opening this evening hoping it would be a summer respite. Unfortunately a storm closed the patio and the crowd gathered inside to watch the Stanley Cup playoffs. Blackhawks up by 1. It cannot be overstated the acoustics here are deafening, so much so I was inclined to leave. I grabbed a table upstairs ordered a burger and a beer. The beer selection hosts local favorites. The selection is typical of most bars. The slaw burger was a good distraction but not memorable. The wait staff hustled on opening night with many enjoying the game. My sympathies to them as they juggled glasses of beer up to the second floor. The fries and burger were to the table minutes after ordering. The burgers come with no sides. You may want to take advantage of a the fried curds or wickedly tempting fries. Vegetarian black bean burgers are available for substitution. Off street parking is very limited. I did not find a wifi network assigned to Mr Brew. In all I’ll return to try the cheese curds, the black bean burger and take advantage of the patio before the end of summer. A good place to gather to watch the game especially if your date likes hockey. If she likes beer, the Blackhawks, and burgers you might want to think about keeping her.
