Can you give no stars! This place is horrible, poor customer service does not begin to describe the pharmacy. Medications are never ready when promised and they don’t care. This is my third trip to get a prescription and I am still waiting first wait was an hour then 3 hours now on another 30 minutes. The pharmacist is so busy complaining he can’t possibly fill any prescriptions. Do yourself a favor and use a different place!!!

the pharmacy consistently shorts you on your prescriptions. I was told by the staff that they are stocked out of a warehouse and the warehouse runs short of medications. Seriously? The staff is as kind and as helpful as they can be and they try to give you enough to tide you over but the Rite Aid boss should fire whoever takes care of the stocks for that store. No one has time to go to a store more than once for a single prescription. There is no need for a poorly stocked Pharmacy in this day and age.

Consistently nice and well stocked in pharmacy.(There is a couple big box store pharmacies around these here parts that are consistently awful so I seek Rite Aid out, or Frank’s.) Always has stuff in stock in the store that I know they carry. Very nice cashiers that are always awesome. I’ve gotten crazy deep discounts on very expensive items(‘Cold Ease’ normally $ 7 – 8? Down to $ 1.50 and not at all expired). What more to say?

This place is the worst. The pharmacy is always short staffed and out of meds. Four separate times I had to go to the rite aid in capitola or other pharmacies to get what I needed. The staff looks like they are always scrambling. This is how my typical experience goes: My doctor calls in a rx. I wait for a while, I call to see of its ready. Usually it takes 5 or more minutes for someone to answer the phone. They say my rx is ready. Once I’m at the counter it’s not ready and the older lady tells me go to the drop off counter to see if they have the meds to to fill the rx. Sometimes they have the meds, sometimes they don’t. I end up waiting and/or have to come back. Most everyone on the staff is indifferent and short. I will say they have one pharmacist that has an accent, he is wonderful. Otherwise this place is terrible and all their store products are way over priced. Going to try safeway, hopefully it will be better.

Wow, this pharmacy does not inspire confidence. It is very run down and dirty. It looks like something you would see in a third world country. The staff are nice enough, but they seem super short staffed. Shame on management. If you need your prescription filled, it won’t be ready unless you show up and look desperate! Most of the Rite Aids that I have been into in various parts of the country share this run down look. Amazing this company, as a whole, manages to stay in business. It’s not like you get discount pricing for such a dumpy shopping experience, e.g., Mucinex DM $ 17.99 but I walked a few doors down to the Safeway, not known for low prices either, was $ 14.99 I can’t imagine what is going on at the corporate level: Maybe Mitt and the boys are in the process of a long gutting of a company, who knows?

If you’re considering using this Rite Aid for prescriptions, please reconsider. It is not clear where the functional breakdown is in this Pharmacy, but it is complete. Ask them to put your rx on auto refill? Won’t happen, you will show up and the rx will not be ready. Request a brand name? Don’t bother, they will forget to enter into your account, you will show up and it will not be in stock. Need to get something that should have been filled but wasn’t, and need to wait for it? You’ll have to wait until after the Pharmacist looks at you in the eye, then takes his break, before you get your medicine, which would have taken him five minutes to slap a label on if he had done it before his break. Want to move the rx to Costco, because you just can’t take one more example of incompetence? Don’t bother, just call your doctor for a new rx phone in to Costco, because Ride Aid RDM will sit on the refill transfer request for a week, and still do nothing while you’re waiting for your medicine.

I parked my car in the Rancho Del Mar lot while my husband and I went to Baskin-Robbins. When we returned 10 minutes later there was a Rite Aid shopping cart smashed against my car’s passenger side door. I notified the store manager and she filled out a report. Rite Aid’s corporate claims representative contacted me. I got the requested repair estimate($ 900!!!) and mailed in all the documents and photos he requested. I got a terse return letter from him blaming the runaway shopping cart on whatever customer left it in the lot to roll away. I told him that the store provides NO cart corrals and on the parking lot’s steep slope a runaway cart could hit a parked car, a moving vehicle, or a pedestrian and cause serious damage or injury, Almost 6 months later I notice there are still Rite Aid shopping carts left all over the sidewalks and parking lot, including on one day 5 carts in a handicapped stall. I sent letters to corporate headquarters — to the CEO, Loss Prevention Manager, and Northern California Regional Manager — in January. I also called and left a message for the Loss Prevention Manager. To date I have heard nothing from any of them. So much for their«corporate values» of being responsible to their customers. I have stopped shopping at Rite Aid Rancho Del Mar.

Always short staffed and the staff never knows how to use the register. This is the kind of place you want to run in grab a few necessaties and get out quick… can’t do that here with slow unknowledgeable staff! Oh and since March… no bags! WTF? Who really wants to buy tampons, condoms, pepto or whatever personal necessaties and have to walk out of the store carrying all that crap because they won’t give you a bag unless you tell them before they screw up the register they already don’t know how to work(if you pay for it, it’s a cheap thin paper bag) every other store in the area ASKS during the tranasaction…“do you want a bag?” so they can ring it up. Hate to see anyone go out of business in this economy, but this place is horribly managed it needs to go away.

So, I’m learning how to use coupons. My first stop of the day was at Rite Aid. Yes, I found great deals today. Not a great experience though. When I went to go pay I told the cashier I had coupons and I was going to do a few transactions. Well, I guess they were short staffed because she had me in a hurry, which was not cool and to be honest she was not the nicest cashier. I reviewed my receipts in the car and sure enough, I forgot to give her a coupon in such a hurry she had me. I went back and I spoke to a nice lady(She didn’t have a name tag) about my coupon and she said to go up front to a cashier and they would help me out. Pamela was the cashier the second time around. She was able to make the correction. Not just that, but she was friendly. I will be looking for Pamela next time I go.

Was originally told they hold a prescription for 30 days that they couldn’t fill right away. I came in at day 20 and was told they hold it for 13 days. 13 days, seriously? You pull that number out of your a$$? Waited for 1 hour more(after being told 15 minutes) only to get a partial fill and told to come back AGAIN! Sorry, no. thumbs down for customer service and lying.

For a drug store it has everything one would want. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful. I would give it higher reviews if not for one of the staff members parking their car a foot next to mine with the windows rolled down and his German Shepard trying to bite me. When I confronted the staff member his attitude was that’s my problem and keep it up he’ll let his dog out to finish the job. When I said for him to do it, he backed off, got in his car and flipped me the bird as he drove away. I was able to read his badge on his Rite-Aid vest so I complained to the store manager and wrote a complaint letter to corporate, which I did get an apology from them for their staff actions. Besides one chicken shit coward of an employee the store itself is good. Has everything a person would want in a drug store. I won’t shop there nor give it good reviews but hell I hold a grudge when a persons dog tries to bite me.
