The Wholesale House

In the past 15 years we have moved three times and for each home we have purchased engineered wood flooring through the Wholesale House and loved the finished results. The Wholesale House always has the best pricing and Gail and Heidi are extremely helpful. I wouldn’t waste my time shopping anywhere else.

Where do I start? Let me begin by saying I am the typical big-​box shopper. I like the convenience, selection and cost that comes with it. I even have a Lowe’s card. So naturally, that’s where I go. Also, I’m a capable DIY’er and know what I want. I do my research online, shop local and install it myself. That was my plan for hardwood floors. I’ve installed them before so expected a simple repeat. I visited Home Depot and Lowe’s but being that we just purchased our home, I really wanted something special.
A friend recommended The Wholesale House. Within a few minutes of my visit, I knew this was the right place. They have a great selection, reasonable prices and a very knowledgeable staff. In hindsight, it makes sense. They are not employees that were trained a few hours to cover the flooring department. This is what they do everyday and they know their business. I could’ve made a $ 5k blunder but they saved me with picking the right flooring, Johnson Hardwood English Pub. They provided guidance in getting all the installation necessities without overselling. That eliminated a lot of Google and YouTube searches! I installed the flooring last week and it looks beautiful!
I’m so happy with the overall experience! Although I can’t imagine these floors needing to be replaced anytime soon, I will absolutely return if or when I need flooring again! Highly recommended

I should have written this review 2 years ago when a disappointing experience happened but I decided to go into denial. We had bought several times from The Wholesale House and had nothing but good experiences. Our last time was not good. We had bought a fairly middle of the road carpet with a pad that was suppose to be waterproof. We have several animals and when we have had our prior carpets steam cleaned, sometimes the dirt from under the carpet and pad comes through. Anyway seemed liked a good upgrade. While the pad and carpet was being installed i did a test on an extra piece of the pad and we were sadly shocked to find out it was not even water resistant. I immediately callled the store during the installation and they assured me they would look into it and not to worry. Weeks went by and we were dealing directly with the owner. We basically got no satisfaction in terms of replacing the pad. Mind you it was a large job to move the furniture and pull the carpet back out at this point. The owner never offered us a refund on the pad which at the very least heshould have been done.
Anyway we just used another local company in Soquel and everything went great. The pad is not just waterproof but much more pleasant to walk on. The owner was all talk in resolving our issue. In the end the blame went on an East coast Manufacturer and we simply did not want to deal with this issue anymore including the writing of a review at the time.

We recently changed out our carpet for hardwood. Steve walked us through the process, gave us a great quote, helped expedite delivery and even followed-​up with the vendor while he was on vacation! It is great to shop local and it is even better when you have a store with great selection, great advice and great prices.

I always feel in good hands at the Wholesale House, They manage the details and guide me along as needed. Moreover, their «people» skills are just as well honed as their technical expertise. They listen carefully to what we wanted, and consistently went above and beyond what anyone might have expected.
Plus they’re a local, famliy run business. and buying from a local business creates more jobs, provides better personalized service, invests back into our community and puts your sales taxes to good use. The folks at the Wholesale House are diligent about keeping their overhead down so they can provide amazing prices to us. It is very rare that anyone else’s prices are lower.
I highly recommend the Wholesale House to anyone looking for flooring and home assessories.

I have been using The Wholesale House for about 20 years. I recently went back because we needed carpeting for a rental we have. I went in on a weekday afternoon and got plenty of personalized (and friendly) attention. The woman (wish I could remember her name) was helpful, understood my needs and made good suggestions. The carpet installers they recommend do a great job too. I went with Jim and was very happy with the installation job. He was very pleasant to deal with.
