You definitely get what you pay for. Not bad for the price. Upstairs rooms are definitely better than the downstairs rooms. They have pretty comfy beds, nice hot showers and a not so bad continental breakfast. We stay here often and definitely recommend it.

First room they gave us stunk like someone spilled beer all over the carpet and never cleaned it up. They left the A/C off in all the rooms and they smell like hot Texas muggy socks. The staff is not 100% customer service oriented. One of the women snapped about the waffle maker during breakfast and you should NEVER talk to a customer that way. EVER. The ice machine was broken. The TV is a dinosaur. The shower is less than standard pressure. The room was for 4 people and they were 3 bath sized towels. The sink clogged up on us. The only saving grace is that it is across the street from a local HEB. Reader Beware: Put up the money and stay across the street at the competing chain. Looked much better. I guess if you can’t find anything this might suit you on the way Port Aransas but NEVEREVERAGAIN will I trust Trip Advisor. Unilocal reviews all day every day.

Ok for a night and under $ 100, I booked online, shoulda just chanced it, to find a nicer hotel. But, after being in the Military, I can lay my head anywhere and sleep. This place had a courtesy breakfast, which was ok, muffin and coffee was good enough for me. Very small, and I mean small, only could accomodate maybe twenty people, but then again you are at the beach, so really no need to worry about the pool. Friendly staff and KFC across the street, HEB was about a block away and the bridge to catch the Ferry to Port A, was about 5 – 7 miles. All in all in was a decent stay.

Checked into the Super 8 Motel located at 500 E Goodnight in Aransas Pass Tx. I was given room 219 and was insured it was a non smoking room. I then entered the motel through a side entrance and noticed the lock on the door was broken and the door was not secure. I then entered the motel and was over whelmed by cigarette smoke and dirty carpets stains all over. Upon entering my room #219 I noticed an strong odor of smoke and wet mold. I then observed the bathroom tub and toilet dirty and stained. There were numerous pubic hairs on toilet and tub. I cleaned the area myself and placed our luggage on the bed and left for the evening. Upon my familys return to the room at approx. 1145 pm I turned the A/C unit on and noticed a very loud roaring sound. It sounded like a jet engine. The noise was not normal and did not stop. The noise was so loud you could not hear the TV or anyone else in the room. I adjusted it to low in hopes it would get quieter. At this time I pulled down the covers on the beds and noticed cigarette burns in the sheets and comforter, we also noticed the two mattresses were so worn out that any movement on them at all resulted in a loud springing noise, that would keep anyone awake. At this point at approx 1245 am. I walked to the desk to notify desk clerk of unbearable room conditions. I explained the situation in detail and was told by clerk that all she could do is take ten percent off room. I asked for my full refund and could not believe the lack of interest or concern she had for me and my family. As I continued to try and explain how bad the room was she told me I could relocate to a smoking room. I declined the offer due to my childrens asthma problems as well as the time it would take shuffling all baggage around the hotel. I just wanted a refund and get out of the uninhabitable room. I was told to come in at 930 to speak to mgr Nick Patel for refund. I return to room to find A/C is louder than ever, and is now cutting off and on about every 5 min. At around two or three the A/C unit started tripping the breaker in the room causing more chaous and stress. I notified the front desk approx 4 to 5 times about the breakers tripping, flickering lights, & power surges that went on through the night. She was rude and acted like she was bothered by the phone calls that were a fire and safety concern. I made it to the lobby at 930am as instructed to meet Mgr. This causing my family to miss vacation plans that morning. Finally the Mgr Identified as Nick Patel asked me what my problems were. I explained to him in great detail the events in room #219. I then asked him to come to the room so I could show him the problems. He agreed and walked to the room with me the whole time making excuses and belittling me on my timeline for reporting problem. i then follow Patel in room and explained in detail why I want and deserve a refund. He observed and acknowledge all concerns, A/C super loud, Mattress worn out and super loud, and power surges all through the night. He then began to shout at me that i was not getting a refund because I waited to long to report it. he then told me he gets complaints every day and he never gives refunds because people lie. I then told him I was contacting BBB and health department and he yelled do whatever get out. Myself and my wife have been police officers for 15 years and never once have been treated with such disrespect and over horrible service. I want my full refund of $ 107.35 and would like the health and safety department to do immediate health inspection for unsanitary conditions and fire hazards.

Its a Super 8, nothing fancy. But it gets the job done. Had a good time and the staff was nice and friendly. Good location, right by the bridge to Port A and near an HEB.
