This place is amazing. The food is outrageously good. Super chill working class place, not at all pretentious, great for everybody.

Hidden treasure. Nice and helpful staff, Will explain anything on the menu. Can’t go wrong with the Katsu burger and fries. Clean and friendly atmosphere.

Delicious! I can’t wait to eat here again. So many amazing options. The teriyaki beef was thin sliced and seasoned great! I also got an order of chicken Katsu to go home and tried a bite. Amazing! I can’t wait to try the shoyu chicken and the lumpia next visit. I also absolutely loved the live stream of Hawaiian radio in the dining area and it helped create the aloha spirit atmosphere. Very small dining area and designed for grab and go or eat there which is perfect. The one thing that was a little different from plate lunch on the islands was the way it was served but it sounds like that is from requests of patrons. Rather than having your two scoops rice and 1 scoop Mac salad with the meat topped on it, it is all separated on a tray. You also can order ala carte so if you want less rice or something else you can substitute. Definitely check out and I’m so glad I found it!

Was in Maryland and found on Unilocal that there was Hawaiian Plate lunch out there. I had seen the menu on Unilocal and went. Really thought the Loco Moco couldn’t have been more moist and my favorite thing was the Spam Musubi. The Tonkatsu sauce was a little more tangy than sweet, but i really liked the place.

Just drove half an hour to get here, and the cashier tells me it will be a one-hour wait for a to go order. No problem, I have time waiting for my daughter’s practice to end. I start to place my order and the cashier stops me to say they are probably out of rice. She goes to check, and, you guessed it – out of rice! How do you run out of rice 1.5 hours before closing at a Hawaiian restaurant, where almost everything comes with rice? And, if you just told me that it would take an hour for me to receive my food, can you not make more rice in that time? Ridiculous!

Was on 95 and just opened my Unilocal app and this place pops up. They have so many items to choose from on their menu; you will get overwhelmed but that’s a good thing. We ordered spicy spam musubi, moco loco, and grilled mahi tacos. The musubi comes with 6 pieces per order. Everything was SOOO delicious. The workers are very nice too. Will definitely come back soon.

Been way too long since I indulged in a Kanack Attack Burger, and this time I added a slice of Spam to the burger, pineapple, egg, sauce, n bun! Pure Heaven.

Delicious, first time trying Hawaiian food. I got chicken katsu Moo, it tasted like regular katsu but the chicken gravy was good. the fries were garlic butter, but way too much oil. I felt gross afterward. It was so filling I was full literally 7 hours later. BIGPORTION, so get ready to eat. prepare your tummy. The servers are really patient and helpful for what to get if your first time, my dance team drove 4 hours to get here, and it was our big hype. i love the lychee green-tea drink GETTHAT. I tried the spam sushi thing, was good, but I was full at that point, so don’t forget to order that and share!!! the mango desert thing was too sweet and could not taste the mango part. there was some awkward raisins in there too. but AUTHENTIC !!

Local food with service that represents the aloha spirit. Ono grinds in Maryland. Some of the traditional local food is lacking flavor. But the burgers are great

Be prepared to EAT. It’s heavy(delicious) food. Gravy on everything, my kind of place. It’s easy to miss if you aren’t careful, limited seating but it’s worth it to wait. Definitely a great place to pick-up — no frills #takemymoney! Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Spam is king! Don’t tell me what’s in it.

Delicious and totally legit Hawaiian food. Me, asking a family member [who had lived in Hawaii for a decade] how authentic the food here is: «So, Marie, on a scale of 1 to authentic, how would you rate this place?» — «9.» Works for me! The staff is very friendly and the food is really enjoyable Hawaiian/Polynesian food. And yes, that means Spam features more than any Mainland restaurant should ever serve it — I recommend the Spam Musubi — it’s like sushi’s Spammy younger brother with tasty teriyaki sauce and sesame seeds. The poke is another phenomenal dish for an authentic experience. I love the ahi tuna poke, but the octopus isn’t bad either. The owner said he can’t always offer it; he has a fish guy who provides him with quality fresh fish(when available, of course). I always get the Kaluha pork with cabbage — it’s just too good to pass up. Sides of rice and kimchi are my favorite accompaniments, but you could also opt for macaroni salad or potato salad instead. The Kanak Attack burger is messy but a perfect fusion grilled pineapple, teriyaki pork, grilled onions, pepperjack, and a beef patty. Burger fans, you must try this. The place is small, but charming. I almost never see anyone eating inside; I think Takeout the more popular option. Don’t forget to pick up some Hawaiian juices to go with your order!

This place does Hawaii proud. We came here and was extremely happy with the food. We ordered the Spicy Hawaiian Chicken Wings, Kalua Pork, Kalbi Short Ribs, and the Loco Moco. We also got the sides of macaroni salad and cucumber kimchi. I was very excited that they have Hawaiian Sun drinks. I was born in Hawaii and this food brought me back home. The flavors were spot on of what one wants regarding Hawaiian comfort food. Thank you Taste of Aloha for being so onolicious.

I came to Taste of Aloha for the first time yesterday. I ordered the Kalua Hoagie but substituted the pulled pork for teriyaki chicken. It took me all of 5 seconds to devour the sub. The chicken was delicious. The kimchi coleslaw added a perfect pop to the teriyaki and pineapple bbq sauce. I can’t stay away from this place. I’m back again the next day and ordered the chicken Katsu moco. My god. The chicken is perfectly cooked and the whole dish makes my mouth water just looking at it. I’ve never had much Hawaiian and I’m mad that I’ve missed out for the past 25 years. I may be in here every day. Not unrealistic to say that. HIGHLYRECOMMENDED!

I LOVE this place. And it’s 5 minutes from the UMBC campus! If you’ve never had Hawaiian food before, it’s a must-try. It’s a casual atmosphere — order and the counter and seat yourself. Super clean inside and everyone was very nice. I got grilled Mahi Mahi tacos with Kimchi fried rice, and my boyfriend ordered spicy beef and cheese with spam fried rice. The fish and beef were both seasoned/cooked perfectly, and the rice was spicy but so delicious. For such an awesome lunch, it only cost $ 20 for the two of us! We’re definitely planning on returning.

I have had this place bookmarked for so long after reading all the great reviews. Finally had a chance to stop by for lunch & I was disappointed. The service was great, the young man who took our order was very polite. I ordered the chicken katsu loco and my fiancé ordered the fried mahi-mahi. We added the Mac salad that everyone raved about. We also got 3 cans of drinks. Our total came up to $ 28& I could not understand why it was so expensive but I forgot to ask for receipt so I left it at that. Our food came out and it made me a little sad. My food was served in a bamboo-like bowl which I was ok with since my food came with rice. I forgot to take a picture of my fiancé’ plate but his mahi-mahi came on one of those school cafeteria trays with a scoop of Mac salad. The mahi-mahi tasted like it was frozen, Mac salad had too much mayo. We chalked it up as a «well, we tried and now we won’t come back» type of experience.

OMG!!! This restaurant is awesome! My wife and son told me about this place and how good the sushi was. As I’m not a sushi guy I want too worried about going. That has now changed as my wife wanted to go back and said that they have many under options… and not do they! While the menu has many options, what sets it apart is the Hawaiian influence on the fresh made dishes. After looking at the menu hard I decided to go with the Surfer burger which included a fresh mango salsa, avocado, and a pineapple. Again… OMG! The burgers absolutely fantastic… easily one of the best budgets that I have ever had! My wife got the sushi again and loved it again. I highly recommend you try this place out.

I’m not sure why this place is relatively empty every time I eat here, but it deserves a lot more business than it seems to get. Taste of Aloha has really solid Hawaiian food – I’ve personally loved everything I’ve had. The menu changes each day and they’re currently working on a new menu to go with their new renovations, but my go-tos have always been the Kanak Attack(you can’t beat a burger with a fried egg and the combination of ingredients works really well!) and the Loco Moco(can you tell I like fried eggs?). The Spam Musubi is also really popular, and for good reason. The sauce is pretty sweet and not at all spicy. They’re impossible to eat in one bite though, and fall apart pretty easily, so make sure you have a plate or a hand ready to catch stray globs of rice. One word of warning: if you’ve had good poke before, I wouldn’t order it here. They have both normal and fried poke options, and we went with the regular poke. The poke is served to you on a cafeteria tray, with a huge pile of poke and a mound of rice in separate compartments – I was expecting a typical poke bowl and this was a little surprising and a little harder to eat. The tuna itself is good. However, they toss it in a sauce that’s kind of sour and salty. It wasn’t what I expected and it was disappointing. They also give you bamboo utensils if you dine in. I’m sure you could ask for plastic utensils, and I would recommend that because the bamboo ones are hard to use. The fork has wide tines, and both the knife and fork are a little dull. if you order anything that comes in a bowl, the fork is nearly impossible to use to get your last few morsels of food. Poke and utensils aside, I have a little spot in my heart for Taste of Aloha and its cheap, fresh, and tasty Hawaiian food. If you’re in the area, I’d definitely recommend stopping by.

A hole in the wall that offers grand flavor! It might look sketchy from the outside but it’s pretty clean and nice once you go in. They have a room of plastic picnic tables set up inside so you can eat there! The workers are all nice as well! We ordered the combination plate of teriyaki pork, spicy beef, Mac & cheese, and white rice as well as a hamburger with fries. Their Mac and cheese was yummy and was kind like a pasta salad! Anyhow, it had a unique taste to it and I liked it~ The two meats we ordered were delicious but a bit tough. I guess they were just trying to make sure everything was fully cooked. The hamburger was fairly good but again, the meat was pretty dried out. BUTTT, I will say that their fries were amazing! Anyhow, for the price you pay, this place is a steal!

Came here not knowing what to expect. We basically ordered everything that sounded interesting and shared. Started with the spicy hawaiian wings, spam musubi, and kahuku shrimp to share. They were all very average, but the spam musubi was probably the best of the 3. I went with the kanak attack burger and ordered the mac & salad for my side. It was very large, with a lot going on. This made it a sloppy meal. I think the added pork was just too much– it didn’t go very well together. Of their hawiiwan drinks, the pass-o-guava nectar 100x better than the mango-orange… and orange and mangos are my favorite fruits… –_– Order at the front counter and they bring your food out. Service was good and quick. The cashier was a cool guy, other than the fact that he’s a seattle seahawks fan…
