I really like the puffs here! They also take orders really efficiently! One time, I ordered 3 regular, 2 chocolate, and 2 strawberry puffs for $ 15.05. Out of all the flavors, my favorite is definitely the vanilla! Furthermore, the mini puffs are the perfect bite-sized snacks.

Awhile since I’ve been here. My niece’s favorite. Was looking forward to the creamy vanilla bean center of the best cream puff usually. wHat I received instead was a cream puff filled only part way and smaller in size than before. Usually the cream center is spilling out, but instead took a bit or two to get to it. Disappointing. May be it was the attendant but if this is the way it will be next time, I’ll waste my calories in the french fry place I the kiosk down the way!

Waited for ever just to get our half a dozen, there were 1 person in front but under staff. The guy in front got a free bread for waiting and we waited 20 minutes for waiting on the same guy who got the free bread. A girl staff came in at 3:00pm and helped us but she felt like she didn’t want to be there. Their customer service needs work or this franchise location needs work.

This place used to be so wonderful when it first opened up. The cream puffs had thick vanilla bean cream and the pastries were so fresh. After a few months of their success, I realized that they switched to mostly whipped cream with a hint of vanilla. It was definitely noticeable and a big let down. The delightful creaminess it once had was completely gone. I returned a few more times before I received stale pastry and finally stopped coming back.

Definitely my favorite Beard Papa location. I’ve been to a few before and the employees couldn’t even speak English. I have consistently gotten impeccable service here, especially from one of the girls, Sherry. I’m not sure why people have had such bad luck. But then again, I have enough sense to call in before placing a large order or if I have had previous letdowns of items I really want being sold out. But again, that’s just me trying to be a savvy consumer on my part. Also, it’s good to know that the puffs haven’t just been sitting around all day just waiting for someone to purchase them. I usually order a couple dozen every two to three weeks for open houses and I have never had a problem. The only gripe I have is that the location is super tiny and in the summers the heat inside is unbearable.

Always been a fan of beard papas! I’ve been coming to the mall one for years, my order taker was Helen she was super nice and she gave me a suggestion to try our store and here I am! Everyone at the store was super friendly and on that day I came in Helen was there! Surprisingly she remembered me lol so 5 stars for outstanding customer service and 5 star for amazing cream puffs!

Very fresh, they were baking both times I went there. Pastry is crunchy and chewy, pastry is creamy and not heavy. Friendly staff both times I’ve gone.

Beard Papa’s is STILLOPEN as of August 2015 in Westfield Mall in Arcadia on the second floor in the food court north of Macy’s. The mall directory has the WRONG location! That is why people are reporting on Unilocal that it is closed! Persistence paid off with delicious, creamy, custard-filled cream puffs with crispy shells just like home-made without all the work! I LOVE these cream puffs! They are not sweet and cloying like most. Vanilla is my favorite flavor. They are filled as you order them so they stay fresh and crispy instead of soggy and limp for at least 2 – 3 days. Give yourself a real treat if you like rich, creamy desserts that do not make your teeth hurt because they are so sweet. Yum!

Came in to get some mini cream puffs I should have gone to a different location. The cream puffs are good but the customer service makes you rethink about coming back.

This was the best when it first open. Since then the place has gone down hill it is not fresh like it was. I Like the ones with chocolate. I use to go Here to pick up dozens of them to take to people as a sales rep. Service here can be slow so you’re not going to get in and get out.

The cream puffs are delicious especially the eclairs! The only minor complain is that this place is under staffed. The girl is sweet but she has to do everything herself and there is usually a wait time, and they have had to turn customers away due to being under staffed since they cannot make the cream puffs and serve on customers at the same time! They do take phone in orders and I will try to phone in next time.

I’ve been going to this location for years and I keep kicking myself lately for going back. Each time I’ve gone the past year I’ve experienced the following: 1. Unpleasant service 2. Not the cleanest looking workspace 3. OUTOFMINI’s at 4pm I end up having to purchase larger cream puffs(which I don’t want), spending more money(which I don’t want) and a scowl on my face because of the attitude of the worker(which I don’t want). On the flip side, the cream puffs are still very good. Definitely a dilemma. I wish this location would get it together and stop being so cheap by not baking enough puffs to last through the day… and they should train their employees how to at least ACT like they care. Beard Papa’s, you make me a sad cream puff lover.

3.8 stars! Maybe they read my last review and got the hint or something, but guess what?! They have a Groupon deal for the Arcadia branch now too! Woohoo! It’s $ 18 for a dozen cream puffs deal! SWEET!

This place totally has the potential to make itself a five star cream puff haven– but I feel like they can put more effort into making every order . I go in, ask for a couple of cream puffs, and the employee sluggishly pulls out the tin(cream contents inside) and jams the puff into it. Sometimes the puffs look a bit«deflated» and unfresh… I’ve seen beard papas with really really scrumptious looking puffs –fresh, crisp, flaky– wish it could be like that everytime But I mean when they make their cream puffs right. It is delicious ! Cold, chilled cream injected into a hopefully freshly baked puff … With powdered sugar dusted across … Yum ! It does get messy however. I always end up having splotches on my chin. Cheek … Nose. Bahah . I first fell in love with this at my friends house when her mother brought a box in and I was like BEARDPAPAS I will remember it forever ! Lol now when I’m traveling around and I see it’s classic logo I’m like BEARDPAPAS !! And ppl are just staring at me like o. o But yeah. :D

Custard fillings are delicious. The cream puffs are light and I wish the shells wouldn’t break open every time I take a 2nd bite into my puff. The bad thing about the puffs is that they get soggy after a day.

My wife and I went there to get some cream puffs. The lady there was very disorganized and very rude, ignored us and was rushing to hastly setting up the shop. and this was around 12pm It was very apparent that she came in late for work and was setting up and preparing all the food in a rush. On top of that her hygiene was nasty. She never once washed her hands my wife and I watched her touch and grab everything from the cash register, watched her pick her noser and then touch the boxes and with the same un washed hands starts placing the cream puff dough on the baking sheet. sadly she said«sorry we don’t have any more puffs» how pathetic. very unprofessional and very incompetent. I’m still surprised that place is still standing. well never again from now on going to the beard papa inside the Santa Anita mall. thank you David

Per a Unilocal buddy who use to work at Beard Papa’s, I never realized that a regular cream puff has so many calories! I won’t say how many, but it was delicious! Let’s put it this way, for me to burn off a cream puff consumed, it will take a two miles run. Go figure. LOL. Anyhow, I like this place. They have the original, the cookie cream puff, and a mint chocolate one. I have tried the original and the cookie one… and my choice would be the cookie cream puff. I can only assume it has a lot to do with me being a cookie monster. Yes, I love cookies. The cream is injected into the puff right when you purchase it. They use a metal container filled with cream with a nozzle that is used to poke into the puff. What an easy concept, and it works! The employee there was very nice. She was helpful and was able to finish our order quickly. Cool…

I’m not a huge fan of cream puffs. I find those tiny suckers torturous to eat even when dipped in chocolate… because the ones I’ve had tasted like cardboard with goo in the middle. Blech! My opinion about these things changed when I first had Beard Papa’s in Taiwan. Oh man, why can’t all cream puffs be this delicious? I found this location by accident. So, I won’t be complaining how small it is or that it’s in between 2 buildings blah blah blah. I’m just simply glad I found it because I love their cream puffs!!! The smell of pastries and vanilla cream… delightful! I always get the original — vanilla cream. I’m not sure if it’s only in Taiwan but they have green tea cream puffs over there. This location has chocolate and strawberry but I didn’t try those. I only want original or green tea — that’s it. The pastry is nice and kind of flaky and you get to the lusciously creamy center. Cream bursting in your mouth — it’s a pleasant sensation. I have to try hard to keep a straight face when I say that. But you won’t understand until you’ve had Beard Papa’s!
