Love Hecho de Mano. It’s so hard to find authentic Guatemalan items around this area, so I’m Super happy I found this cute store! Perfect for gifts for your special ones, Sally is super helpful and you just feel welcome when you elk into the store!

One of those miniscule shops packed with personality that even locals sometimes miss. My advice: head to Stacked on 1st st for the sandwich of your life, then drive up the street and keep an eye open for this little adobe house of cool(has a small lot). Cash is better to avoid fees. Most of the knicknacks are from Guatemala and a few from other countries-prices are good. The shopkeeper is very friendly, she can tell you where things came from if you ask. I came in not meaning to buy anything and of course I did. :) When you’ve admired your fill at Hecho, swing back onto Huntington Dr and look for the hidden Italian market where you can get foreign sodas in crazy flavors(coffee & celery!?) and grab some magical Italian cookies to go. These three places are close together and make my lunch hour so enjoyable!

I LOVETHISSTORE!!! …I can always get the perfect gift here. As others mentioned it’s the perfect place to pick up gifts. I never manage to leave without finding something for myself as well. :) They have an amazing array of Mexican, South and Central American Folk Art & Jewelry at a great price. They also have lovely pottery and decorative items. you’ll luv this place, It is a bit of a visual overload on your first visit as the place is filled to the brim with items on every wall, shelf, and display case. You discover new treasures every time you visit. Parking is usually easy since there is a public parking on the street & store parking. I totally recommend a visit to this store!

It brightened my day to find this little gem in Arcadia. It was Dia de Los Muertos(Nov. 2) and the giant paper mache skull outside caught my eye. Otherwise I might’ve drove past this cute store on an otherwise blah block. I was surprised to find a neat cultural handcrafts shop with a lovely garden back patio. The owner, Azalia was very friendly and she informed me about a Dia de los Muertos celebration they have in a local Monrovia cemetary. I’d never heard of that one. I was happy to find a Dia de Los Muertos-themed papel picado(cut tissue paper banners) with skulls to send to my friend in Maine who loves them but would never be able to find something like this all the way out there. Happy to see a little shop like this doing well; adds so much culture & life to the city! She said she sells Mexican hot chocolate or coffee? on weekends I think? It would be lovely to just relax amongst the plants in the back and sip away… :)

I found this beautiful little store that’s like stepping into a Latin American cultural market. A lovely little patio in the back with succelents and potted plants for sell. New hand-crafted items are displayed regularly as well as locally made artwork, jewerly and arts and crafts. This is a great place to get a unique gift. I’m so happy to find original hand-woven, authentic Guatemalan shirts, purses and earrings. It’s a nice little get-away from hectic L. A tucked away in the north San Gariel Valley past the Santa Anita Mall. It’s a lovely cultural adventure in a little cottage waiting to be discovered.

Looking for something Unique! & one of a kind gift for that special someone at a Great Price. Now That I Got Your Attention Read On. Then this is the place. Azalea has handmade clothes like one of a kind Huipiles from Guatemala, Nativity sets from Mexico, Guatemala & Peru, lots of really cool Dia De Los Muertos wood fiquerines made by local artist’s. She deals with only local people that really go all out and like her store say’s it’s always«Made By Hand». She also has gifts for Gardeners in her outdoor cozy patio with custom made water fountain & Landscaping by me! Paul Contreras’ «Tierra Verde» Landscape & Masonry in Azusa. Ask her for a sample of Guatemalan coffee she has just now started selling. There is lots of parking next to her store & its free. She is always changing things around for each Holiday. But remember this… if you see something you like then you better Buy It! as you probably won’t get a chance to get another one of a kind whatever it is… You know what I mean. Chow

This cozy little red tienda caught my eye 1 day while I was driving by and boy am I glad it did! I stopped in and there was everything from Olvera Street wrapped up into 1 close-to-home place!!!(ok, minus the bomb taquitos.) There was art and home décor, clothing, jewelry, sugar skulls, photos albums, fruit trees, beautiful plants, mexican candy, EVERYTHING! The worker there was super nice & made me feel as if I had just walked into my Tia’s house. The pricing was awesome and I found the perfect gift for my Dia De Los Muertos friend. I love this tiny little store. And i do mean tiny; it’s about as big as 1 big bedroom & then the garden nursery is outside and larger. I’m amazed they can carry as much as they do but I just love it and drop in every now & then to see what new items they have. Mi Corazon esta en Fuego, FUEGO!!! ;)
