Better than panda express! More affordable, more variety of choices, and much fresher! Definitely will come back! :)

Originally was going to go to Ten Ren’s Tea Time, but I was curious to see what else President Plaza offered and stumbled upon this place. What really made us stay was how dirt cheap this place was. Both our meals ended up being only $ 11.00 and some change. That’s still cheaper than what we would’ve paid for two drinks at TRTT. LOL. They had 2 options for $ 3.99, 3 options for $ 4.99, and 4 options for $ 5.99. Each meal comes with either rice or chow mein with a bowl of soup. It was HELLAWORTHIT. FOOD: I ordered some type of smoked chicken, eggs with tomatoes, and Supreme Meatballs with a side of cold dish vegetables in place of rice or noodles. The food wasn’t terrible– but wasn’t the best, but honestly for $ 5.00, I’m not expecting it to blow my mind. The smoked chicken was the best one from what I can tell, meat was tender with a subtle smoky flavor. The eggs and tomatoes I would pass, there wasn’t even any tomatoes in it. LOL. The Supreme Meatballs felt overcooked, it was too dense when it’s supposed to melt in your mouth when one takes a bite. But the meal was cheap and really filling, I’m definitely satisfied. SERVICE: Might want to come with someone that speaks Chinese– the ladies working here have a hard time speaking English when we tried to ask if they took credit card. Ended up just asking and ordering everything in Chinese. CASHONRRYY and self-seating since it’s in a food court.

Not one of my favorites, but a good backup when you’re short on time and need some quick Chinese 3-item combos. The veggies tend to look fresh because they have decent turnaround. One lady is nice and some of the others are really impatient. Recently they actually offered me a choice of noodles instead of the basic white rice that’s included. The noodles are nothing to write home about, but a nice option for no additional charge.

tip: just finger point $ 4.99 for 3 items with choice of rice or noodles and bland soup. Total comes out to $ 5.45 which is the same pricing as rolling wok over in hacienda heights. This place doesn’t have as much variety as rolling wok but who does? The dishes look fresh and didn’t seem like it was sitting there for hours. Great for lunch or dinner or both.

My favorite place for stinky tofu! Yes I know that stinky tofu is not really healthy food at all. This is just one of my «guilty pleasures.» =) They have pretty good deals on the«combo» meals. I should say that their food is actually pretty good compared to other Chinese«fast food» type of restaurants.

If you don’t have a Taiwanese mother-in-law and are too lazy to cook, then here is your solution. $ 5.99 will get you a 3 item combo with soup and choice of white rice or noddles. I LOVE stir fried eggplant and it’s consistently good here, never under cooked or too mushy. Garlic chicken is always a must here. Soup is usually garbage filler, but comes with the meal anyways. I wouldn’t recommend eating here because it reeks of stinky tofu and an old folks home, but plenty of seating. CASHONLY

The food here is not«bland». It is just right. It’s a bit oily, but no one’s asking you to slurp up the oil. I just pick the food off and dab the oil off on the side. The price is extremely cheap and the quality is dependable. I would say the menu is a bit unexciting, but the dependability of the menu is very comforting. I would warn that the portions here are not small. A lot of times I come here and get a 4-item bento to go, and I split it with my husband, and we’re both full. One bento is enough to feed the both of us, and we’re not skinny peeps here. Sometimes we get an extra Thai ice tea($ 1) or an extra pan-fried bun, but TBH I always regretted those extras, not because they’re not good, but because the bento is so humongous that Thai ice tea or that pan-fried bun literally make me feel so stuffed I feel like the food is pushing against my diaphragm begging to be let out of the wrong end. Yet, I truly enjoy the dependability of this place. I could always count on getting familiar food at a reasonable price here. I come here at least once or twice a month, and I never get tired of their food. My favorite dishes here are: Eggplant String beans Fish and tofu bamboo shoots Fish balls My husband likes their Kungpao chicken and fried chicken.

The food is a bit on the bland side, those of you who enjoys light flavored food will like it. The price here is cheap too. They are very tricky when they fill your plate with food, they will pack it with vegetables and rice, leaving only a tiny bit of room for meat item of your choice. If you were to visit this place, pick your meat items first to get the best bang for your buck! And don’t even take the free soup the meal comes with, it’s been left out so it’s barely warm and it’s has no flavor, water tastes better than that!

Came to the food court for a quick lunch. I have always avoided the deli style joints but after circling the food court a few times, I did the unthinkable… DANG!!! shockingly good. I would have never guessed this place was putting out grub like this. This place is the real deal. Eggplant Tomato omelette Beef n radish stew Teriyaki chicken rice + free soup is what we had, under $ 7 filled up, stuffed 2 with leftover. I didn’t taste MSG I laugh at the rants below regarding too much oil or bad service… lol, as if you’d expect anything different from a place like this. Go back to Din Tai(over priced) fung. Not sure when, but will be back for sure.

I’m not the type to complain much about the healthiness of a restaurant, especially a fast food joint, but the amount of oil and grease that every bite was doused in was just too much. Like is it really necessary for a tray of veggies to be soaked in oil?! Also, I ate one of the seafood buns and the bread had the distinct flavoring of stinky tofu(a dish I tried ONCE and never wanted to relive ever again!!). Sure it’s cheap, but trust me, your arteries(and taste buds!) will pay for it.

Wow! That’s some seriously stinky tofu! If you have a white boyfriend like I do– consider taking it outside to eat. Outstanding hot and sour soup. I will post more as I try their menu

This set up like Asian fast food because it is in a food court. However, this is far from fast food fare. They have more authentic items to choose from, like dumplings and other things I dont know about. They give you large heaps of two or three items PLUS soup for about $ 5. What a bargain! I just need to be more adventurous and order some of the lesser known items. Next time.

This place is in an a food court. The setup looks just like the originah shao mei’s where you’d think maybe it’s the same, but it’s a different company. They, just like the original, give you large portions and free(though room temp) soup. The food was really homemade tasting. We found 2 dishes here that I’ve only eaten at my husband’s mom’s home! Simple glass noodle dish and simple cabbage and mushroom dish. The pig ear dish was perfectly seasoned. We were really happy with the food.

Conveniently located in a food court in the plaza, it’s a must go-to place if you like smelly tofu. I would have to say hands down one of the best smelly tofu I’ve had but just don’t eat all their sweet cabbage as it isn’t very good. For me, I don’t care much for the smell but it’s best you take it home with you since you’ll be stinking the whole food court up if you don’t. For a good amount of smell tofu at a decent price, I’d definitely come back for my fix of smelly tofu. Only thing is that you should brush up on your mandarin since the workers here don’t speak English fluently. I had to use broken mandarin to finally order the smelly tofu.

Decent, cheap, quick, take-out Chinese food. This place is part of the food court located in the same shopping center as the 99 Ranch Market, Ten Ren’s Tea Time, and Full House Restaurant. There appeared to be over 20 different options laid out on hot plates. Everything looked good and freshly made, with a steady stream of business, even at 2PM in the afternoon. The ladies helping me behind the counter spoke little English, but pointing out what I wanted was sufficient. I chose 3 items(eggplant, beef stew and a tofu dish) for $ 4.99. It came with a small box of white rice and a bowl of soup. For only $ 5, I had a huge box of Chinese food and it tasted pretty decent. It fed me for two meals. Boba milk tea for only $ 0.99! It was definitely the cheapest I’ve ever seen. Even though the boba was terrible and the milk tea tasted weak, I reminded myself that it was only 99 cents. I’ll have to remember to order the milk tea without boba next time. Price: 2 items — $ 3.99, 3 items — $ 4.99, 4 items — $ 5.99. I paid with cash, so I’m not sure if they accept credit cards. I’d assume cash only. A great value! I’ll be back again.

Where else can you get a giant box packed full with food, a box of rice and some soup for a little over $ 5??? Well I guess the answer is a lot of places in the San Gabriel Valley… The plus on this place is pretty much everything tastes really good and it’s already made so you can get in and out in minutes. The quantity of food you get really depends on who’s helping you. I always skip on the soup because it tastes like nothing to me but I love their green beans, eggplants, spicy chicken, and fish with tofu.

Located near 99 Ranch Market and Full House. Came by to pick up lunch. There is a large variety of food. For a 2 item combo with soup and rice/fried vermicelli for 3.99. Each additional item for $ 1. There is a wide selection; probably about 15 different dishes. Typical choices include fried tofu, meatballs, cabbage, and tomato with eggs. We picked up(2) 4 item combo for 4 people. It was sufficient and satisfying since we didn’t want to go out to eat. Overall, decent places if you are in a rush. The food is decent and the price is appropriate. It wouldn’t be part of my daily rotation, but it’s nice to know where to grab some quick take-out.

This review is solely for the stinky tofu. That is pretty much the only thing I order from there. It is utterly delicious! It’s one of the best stinky tofu I have ever eaten in the US. Their tofu is a bit different than those dry, small cubes most places have. It’s dry on the outside and moist on the inside. I especially love the sauce it comes with… warning: it may be a bit spicy. Dipping it definitely makes the tofu taste better. I highly recommend trying their stinky tofu. The portion is around 6 – 8 medium sized cubes for $ 5.

Ahh I see, thanks to Lee E.‘s review now I know where my favorite beef rolls went! Sweetpeas, I still can get my favorite beef roll in this plaza, just now at this place instead. You gotta try it, and if there is better within the hood, share the news! =)
