This little ramen place is pretty darn good! If you’re looking for a lunch to grab with friends, this is the place to go! Sometimes the wait can be long(since it’s so small), but it goes by fast. Or you can just go early haha. I’ve tried most of the ramen here, then again there isn’t that big of a selection. The spicy miso and tonkotsu is really good! You can also request what kind of ramen you want(thick or thin). I also love how they have a garlic grinder! YUMGARLIC! You grind it up and put it in your ramen! YUM! Their fried rice is also really good! They give a lot too, which is a plus!

Go here! My husband and I only had time to try one ramen place while we were in town and we picked this one based on reviews, and we were very happy we did. I usually don’t care for ramen broth so I ordered the cold noodle Tan Tan Mein. Wow! that was so amazing! The ground chicken was juicy and full of flavor and only slightly spicy. The noodles had just the right texture, not overcooked, and the spicy mayo brought everything together in a perfect harmony of wonderfulness for my mouth. My husband drank every last drop of his soup, so that must have been good too. And, at under $ 10 you can’t go wrong. Waiters were super polite and adorable. The place is small and fills up quickly. I thought I would feel smushed sitting at the bar, but the other people around us were also so happy because of the food we started talking and it became a cozy little community.

Simple menu and awesome ramen. The soup is drinkable, not too salty/spicy and not to bland. The noodle is on the soft side, but combining with the meat and bean sprouts creates an excellent texture. Service is quick but nice. Overall, highly recommended and will come back again.

A friend of mine rec this place and I decided to try it today. I ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen Red and loved itt! The broth is just lovely and the noodles and pork and everything was so so good!(i was pretty hungry too). I will definately be swinging by soon for more! I don’t go to often to ramen places and am not picky with my ramen but if it tastes good it tastes good, and this place is worth checking out. My friend and I went around 4−5pm so we didn’t have to wait in line and were seated as soon as we walked in the door.

It was raining. It was cold. So what that we were inside the office all this time? It was still a perfect excuse for — you know it — RAMEN! We rush there and… wait a minute, what’s that B on the window?! We are hesitant for a moment. But then we see all tables full, and happy faces over delicious bowls, so we throw our principles out of the window and take decisive steps in. The menu is just one page — as it should be at places like this. Two sizes available, and the medium bowl is already pretty large. Three basic ramen, three fancier ramen, a couple non-ramen dishes and that’s all you need! All ramen have the following: meat, noodles, bean sprouts, egg, and green scallions. We go for Tan Tan, the ramen with cream base, ground pork or chicken and bock-choy. The food comes fairly quickly and, oh mine, we are in the culinary paradise. The noodles are cooked perfectly, the base is super flavorful and rich, and the dish is spiced ridiculously right. I would say my broth was a little too salty, so next time I would definitely request a lower sodium intake! We loved the chili paste on the table, and the garlic in the soy sauce was a nice touch. We didn’t quite enjoy sitting so close to the door as it was pretty chilly with the draft coming from the kitchen fans and the wind coming from the outside. if you can, grab a table further on. The place is tiny, and the line is often out the door, though. We finally asked the server what was the situation with their B rating. He said it was because one of their tea pots was left in the sink, where it obviously didn’t belong. We decided it was a good official party line to follow(whether true or not so much) and will be back for more. P. S. Conveniently paired wit the Half & Half Tea Express right next door where you’d want to get a gallon of boba after all the sodium you just inhaled!

Since my last review, I’ve actually come to become a pretty big fan of ramen. I love the thick broth, tender pork strips, runny egg – the list goes on and on. The BF and I both ordered the large spicy tonkonsu ramen. The large is $ 1 more than the regular size. Upgrade! Price discrimination FTW! Love the fact they provide garlic on the side & extra spices, oil, etc. for the condiment connoisseur, like myself: P Overall, a solid ramen joint in the 626 area. Would return if I were in the area.

Good view! My cousin couldn’t stop ____. Soup is good. For me, I like the meat which is a little bit sweet. I feel like it’s a authentic ramen restaurant with a good view

Love eating here. I always get the spicy miso ramen that has the Okinawa Soba noodles which is the thicker chewier noodle, almost aldente. The broth is not overly oily but full of flavor. Love the soft centered egg, I just can’t get enough of em. Edit revisit 4÷15÷2016 Yes I’m back again and I’ve ordered my usual, spicy miso with okinowan soba noodles… oh man this is the tip I got a while back and it’s one that I will do all the time now. Can’t complain except the lines for this place can get crazy if you don’t come early enough. Love the fresh garlic press, sorry if I stink bad tomorrow, but hey join me pressing garlic muhahahaha

I really enjoy coming to this little Ramen restaurant. Delicious bowl of Ramen. Good customer service even though its a bit busy most of the time. You must always sign in and wait about 15 minutes. There’s an option to sit on table or bar. I always order the hot green tea(comes in with a pot and a small tea cup). My favorite Ramen is TONKOTAUWHITE in large size $ 10. 25

Hands down my favorite ramen place ever! There’s always a line, but it’s totally worth the wait. The place is really small to begin with, but the ramen is to die for! My BF and I got their around 6:30pm, which is typically the busiest, but one of the workers got a table right away! Which was really nice of him. As soon as we sat down, we were greeted and asked if we wanted anything to drink, and she went to go get that right away, instead of taking her time. Long story short, we ordered our ramen, and it came out less than 15 mins later. I was really impressed. And everyone who worked there were really on point with their service! The«regular» size is huge! I can only imagine was the«large» size looks like! I definitely got full half way of my meal, which barely happens anywhere! The price is about $ 10 a person! Also, the broth that they have is so flavorful! They say that it takes 8 hours or more to make their broth, and it obviously shows!

Drove by this plaza a million times and never thought to stop by for ramen. Came at 11 am when they open because I hate waiting and it seems that the wait can get really bad during rush hours. Only a few tables were taken when I got here, but by the time I left, it was packed. Service was good. Food came out quickly. Small restaurant, limited seating. Combo is a pretty good deal. Spicy Miso, regular w/Pork Rice — $ 9.25 + $ 2.25 — Broth has that slight heat kick with a nice salty miso flavor. I was scared it would be overly salty but it was perfect. Chashu wasn’t as good as I was expecting. Egg was ok, yolk was a minute to over for me. Love the thicker noodles that came with this bowl. Tonkotsu White, regular w/Fried Rice — $ 9.25 + $ 2.75 — Nice thick bone broth. Not at good as Daikokuya’s down the street but comparable. Toppings were the same as above. Everything else was basic. Pork Rice — White rice with some charred shredded chashu. Good with the pressed garlic. Fried Rice — Basic fried rice with shredded pork. Pork lacked flavor. They should add the shredded chashu to this and it would be good. Table side garlic was good. The soy garlic flavor help enhance the broths flavor. I liked it mixed with the garlic oil and pepper flakes.

We waited a really long time because it was a Friday evening. Was it worth it? Yes, it was. The ramen broth was perfectly balanced, not too salty but still quite flavorful. Plenty of noodles. In fact, I could not finish everything. The chasu was delicious and just fatty enough. The soft boiled egg was perfect. I tried some of the marinated garlic but it was still too raw tasting, as I was expecting a softer roasted garlic flavor. Definitely inexpensive for the amount of food you get. I love the murals inside the restaurant.

Pros: Marinated garlic, Delicious ramen! Cons: Tiny shop, Long wait times I ordered the Tan Tan Mien ramen, served hot. The broth was heavier than most and just the right level of spicy getting sopped up by the ground beef and chewy noodles. It was pretty close to perfection – just lacking a hint of saltiness for my personal taste. This was easily resolved with a dash of soy sauce and a bit of garlic! They have the garlic cloves marinating at every table along with a press for you to crush into your soup. This was a new experience for me and I found it really amusing. Overall, I think the prices are very reasonable for the quality of ramen, so I will definitely brave the long lines and be back soon!

Located in LA fitness complex and beside Half and Half! Plenty of parking. The ramen itself it just ok. I think everyone loves the marinated garlic which will taste good if you crush it into your ramen. I ordered tonkotsu ramen and the broth level is the same as shin sen gumi. Daikokuya is better in many ways. Sorry

Ramen. So yummy when done right, so salty and awful if not. In previous reviews I illustrate the deplorable lack of a good place in Riverside. The«best» is only because the one or two other places are progressively worse. The last time I ate at Zen Street I couldn’t finish it. The extra pork belly was in reality huge chunks of gross fat, and not the soft belly type either. They finally finished me off. At last an opportunity came to get out and about. I had bookmarked this place based on reviews and frequency of friends checking in, and after concluding business in nearby Monrovia, I headed here around 6:30pm on a Saturday. I got a good parking place, but if I arrived any later the modest lot would be full. I noticed people waiting outside but since I was solo they sat me immediately at the tight bar near the service station. Beggars can’t be choosers, right? Actually, I enjoyed the view of the kitchen having been a cook in a past life and a server in another. I befriended my waitress, the lovely Jasmine, whose expression caused me to question what I should order. Apparently the soba wasn’t a good first choice so I accepted her input on ramen. I ordered a side of gyoza too since I love those things. Both arrived quickly and she showed me a flavor option I never encountered previously: marinated garlic cloves with a little press. She warned me to not overdo it until I was sure I liked it. Anyhow, the ramen was damn near perfect compared to what I’ve had lately in Riverside. Lots of flavors without being too salty. The pork was exceptional too, and I liked a modest amount of pressed garlic. The gyozas too tasted wonderful. I made a nice dipping sauce with available vinegar and soy sauce. All-in-all, an excellent place that’s always busy. While Arcadia is full of such establishments, I’d like to return and work my way around the menu.

The wait for Mokkoji was super long, so we came across the street to eat here. This restaurant is pretty small, just like any other ramen joint I know. The menu is similar to Daikokuya, where you can order a side of fried rice with your ramen. For my meal, I order the Spicy Miso ramen with ramen(it usually comes with soba noodles). My family and I also ordered sides of California rolls and fried rice. The spicy miso ramen was just okay. The broth wasn’t spicy and it didn’t really taste like miso. It had an interesting flavor, but it wasn’t bad. The California roll was big and pretty good. The fried rice was also pretty tasty, but not as good as Daikokuya’s. The only good thing about this joint is the service. The servers were very attentive and checked up on us many times. Overall, I don’t think there’s anything special about this place. Daikokuya is better in many ways.

The restaurant itself is extremely tiny and there isn’t much walking space. My party of 4 sat at the bar and there was probably about a foot separating us from the table that was behind us. We didn’t have to wait too long since it was an hour before closing on a Monday morning. At each table there’s a jar of marinated garlic that you can add to your bowl of ramen. It’s a lot of work but it’ll give you something to do while you wait for your food. During my first visit I remembered it took a while for food to come out, but today it came out within minutes. I had the large tonkotsu ramen, which was pretty standard. It wasn’t bad but nothing really stood out. I would have enjoyed the noodles more if they were a little softer. The pork was really tough. I wanted to try add the fried rice but our server suggested that it was better to skip the rice and just do extra noodles, which I do not regret.

I’ve been on a self-proclaimed ramen tour and today’s stop was Ramen Yukinoya. I have a lot of heart for the old Shanghainese place that used to be in this spot, so does Ramen Yukinoya represent well? I’d say so! HOWEVER, the line for this makes me think that it’s a little overhyped. It’s good for SGV but once you broaden your scope about 20 miles, it’s just okay. So, I wouldn’t drive out here just for this if my parents didn’t still live in this area. I will say that my Spicy Tonkotsu was a hearty portion, nicely flavored, included lots of toppings(green onion, bean sprouts, bamboo, fishcake and egg [most places make you pay extra for egg]) and good value(for 2 bucks you can add pork rice — so cheap! & the bowl of ramen itself is under $ 10) I also like the soy sauce marinated garlic on the table(that’s also free!)

A solid joint with good ramen. Lunch rush gets busy, and I was lucky to grab a seat for one at the bar. To give you an idea of the wait time, it took 30 mins for my ramen and side to come out. While I was soaking in the ambiance, I noted the loud and unfitting trance/techno music mix playing in the background. What I ordered: — Regular Tonkotsu. Came with bean sprouts, 3 pieces chashu pork, bamboo, and soft-boiled egg. The broth was ok, but it lacked a depth of flavor I hoped for. Even tho it was oily, it wasn’t very heavy. I think the broth at Daikokuya and Shin sen gumi have one up on it. However, I REALLY enjoyed the egg because the egg white was so soft and tender, and it had a great marinated flavor that penetrated through. I could have sworn I saw stars when I bit into it. Delicious! — Okinawa chashu braised pork belly. It was also alright; the actual meat itself was kind of tough for pork belly. The light char on each piece was tasty, but the marinade was too sweet for my liking. I liked the regular chasu in the ramen better.

Tonkotsu and Tan Tan Mien are the must tries! I loved the richness and the flavor of the broth. This place is perfect to try on a cold or rainy day. It is located in a plaza with Baskin Robbins and CVS. The restaurant is cute and the wall décor looks pretty neat. I’m definitely returning here more often because the food is great and staff is friendly. I heard if you crush garlic into your ramen it’s good. I attempted this but the preserved garlic was way too hard and I didn’t want to break my hand or have the garlic shoot into someone’s eye. If this could be pre-minced for us, that would be great! I did enjoy what little I could get from the garlic press. Not enough for me though. lol
