If you like ground beef with no flavor in a taco shell full of lettuce and cheese, this is the spot for you. As plain as an over priced taco can get. No flavor at all.

Was in the area and was curious about the urban legend of this place being haunted and having a portal in the Men’s restroom. So I satisfied my curiosity and hunger with a visit. The building is a time warp and probably looks the same way it did when it opened in the 60’s. The food is very basic unauthentic Mexican food. Tried a taco and combo burrito. The taco was good and the burrito was even better. If you go expecting authentic or the best Mexican food then you’ll be disappointed. But if you’re in the mood for a an upgraded version of Del Taco then you’ll be pleased. I definitely would go back again when in the area.

How do people eat this garbage? They put together ingredients from canned goods and serve it in a taco shell or flour tortilla. Toss in a hand full of spicy ketchup packets that they call hot sauce in my bag and call it Tex-Mex? Cali-Mex? Whatever you want to call it, it is garbage that I would feel guilty feeding it to the homeless. Definitely the worst food I’ve had since I moved to So Cal. I moved here 12 years ago.

Old school since 1967. The restaurant is closed on Mondays and now open on Sundays.

I’d actually give this place 10 stars if I could. Not true Mexican food, but the BEST California Mex! I grew up on Taco Lita in Pomona — my Dad used to bring home a big bag of their tacos on Friday nights when I was a kid. When the two locations in Pomona closed down we started going to the Ontario location on Holt at San Antonio. When that one closed, we thought that was the end of Taco Lita. About 18 years ago, we discovered there was one last Taco Lita left in Arcadia — one of the happiest days of my life! We’ve been making the half hour drive from Walnut to Taco Lita three and four times a month! Their JUMBO Burrito is to die for. The tacos are the best around as well. Just like In-N-Out, this place is a SoCal legend! Local families have been going here for generations! My daughter is the 4th generation in my family to frequent Taco Lita! All their ingredients are prepared fresh throughout the day, and their packets of sauce are legendary as well. The only negative is that they’re closed on Sundays — bummer.

I’ve got to write this review… Who cares if I have friends that might scoff at it? I grew up in the Arcadia/Temple city area… Taco Lita is an established fast food Americanized… Again… FAST food… establishment that has served the central San Gabriel valley for more years than your own parents can probably remember. Taco Lita is the place that serves us San Gabriel valley kids snacks after school, and comfort when we need it. While in high school it was our go to place for an after school snack. When I moved back to Los Angeles from college it was the first thing I craved. When I had to have a difficult… Both emotionally and physically charged medical procedure, it was the first thing I asked for when I came out of anesthesia. My parents and their friends ate at Taco Lita after school when they were teens. It’s an SGV staple. The other reviews are right. This is not«authentic Mexican food» what it is though… Is nicely seasoned real ground beef, tons of cheese and some lettuce and tomato in a crunchy shell… With the best packet hot sauce EVER… Ever!!! I introduced my boyfriend to Taco Lita after a very road worn evening, traveling the highway, from a very alcohol soaked trip in Palm Springs and he loved it. We call them«crappy tacos» we mean it with love… Like serious love. They are the best crappy tacos you will ever have. Anyone that compares them to Taco bell is off base… Ok yes, they have a crunchy shell, and they aren’t at all authentic… But they are tasty as heck, meaty, cheesy, crunchy etc… And it’s the best tasting packaged sauce in the world. For real. They still have the kitshy 70s décor which I find quite charming, and there are rumors that there is a ghost of Taco Lita… Look for the lonely looking old man(if you are into that kind of thing) Never go away, Taco Lita. You are my comfort food, my childhood, and my parent’s childhood.

Taco Bell is better for a cheaper price. First time, I went here I choosed the special burrito, bean & cheese $ 8 for a disgusting plate.

Great classic American ground beef tacos with a slice of tomato on shredded American cheese, lettuce, and seasoned ground beef wrapped in a corn shell. Ingredients taste freshly prepared. I love tacos!

So I’ve been cruising through the bad reviews of this place and honestly, I can’t help but laugh. First off, Del taco ISNOT better than Taco Lita! I had Del taco on Tuesday and I hate to say it didn’t make me feel the happiness of my childhood like taco lita. You have to be a certain kind of person to like this place. Like be raised on it. The sauce DOESNOT taste like sweetened ketchup??? I’ve NEVER had it cold! I’ve gone there from la Verne bought it drove home and it was STILLHOT! So these people saying their stuff was cold – again(?) I don’t get the hate I don’t get people saying Taco Bell and Del taco is better. I guess haters gonna hate. Oh, and it’s still in business after a million years because ITSAMAZEBALLS! And no they should’ve update it. I would be disappointed if they did.

Cheap quality of ingredients. The cheese is never melted all the way and is clumped up. I got a burrito and my first bite i had a rusted washer in it. It must have been from either the spoon they used to scrape the slop or from the stove that they used to cook the slop. Either way stay far away from this place and go eat at a real Mexican restaurant.

A few of us were on our way home in Corona and we used Unilocal to find this place. Even though we passed In N Out we still decide to eat here. What a DUMP. What the hell are all you 4 and 5 star people thinking? Taco Bell has a better tasting menu than this crap. Everything was bad from the artificial cheese to the artificial«Ground Beef.» I snapped a picture of the grease leaking from the burrito that I ordered. It was nasty. Do yourself, and your arteries, a favor go somewhere else that is not leaking nasty ass processed cheese lard. If you must eat greasy Mexican food, at least go to a legit place that serves good food.

Taco lita is nothing short of great! Wednesday is the day to go for the combo burrito, taco, and medium drink for around $ 8. The burritos are huge and delicious. They are made with ground beef not your typical taco joint where they use carne asada. But the best part about Taco Lita is their signature sauce packets! The sauce goes really well with the food complimenting the beef and cheese. Taco Lita gets 5 stars from me because it never disappoints my hunger!

There’s a lot to be said about the nostalgia this place has for me. If you didn’t grow up in Arcadia, don’t expect much. But for those of us who have, this place is heaven. The burritos are still gigantic. The Lita sauce is still crack. And the ambiance still has that old school tile and fluorescent light beauty. It’s not authentic Mexican food. It’s greasy, comfort food goodness. My only gripe is that inflation has taken it’s toll on our hearty little hidden gem. $ 11 bucks for a burrito and a soft drink … ouch :( Try it just to try it, but don’t bitch if it’s not the best burrito in the world. I still crave it every now and again and God forbid they ever close their doors.

I don’t understand all the hype… Got burrito, taco combo and was NOT impressed. Beans tasted can bought or worse. Cheese was not melted and bulky. Taco shell crumbled. Too much lettuce — and tasted like it was not washed. The Whole set up takes away from taco experience– Ambiance is not appealing! The Table set up is awkward. The staff«look angry» comments might be because of the seating set up with people directly facing them. Restrooms are outside and dirty(shared). All in all — yuck.

I can’t give any restaurant that I crave anything lower than 4 stars. While the tacos, burritos and quesadillas on its own are quite basic — they go so perfectly with their infamous Taco Lita sauce! I love that the workers are never stingy with their sauce either, even tho it clearly states that they’ll charge like 1.99(or something ridiculous) for extra. They throw em in the bag in handfuls. I usually save the extra sauces for the other mexican food I get(ie from King Taco, Taco Bell, etc) and it’s soooo gooooooodd!

When in Arcadia… TACOLITA! So simple, but so delicious! CLASSIC! Combo Burrito($ 6.50) Meat, beans, cheese. I like to add lettuce, and this burrito is gone in 60 seconds. So damn good and hits the spot every time. Parking is a sinch, and don’t forget the hot sauce! AMAZING!

It’s classic Americanized Mexican food. Think Del Taco: Before They Were Famous. This place has been in business since 1967 not because they are innovators, not because they serve authentic Mexican food; but because they have simple, fresh ingredients, a tangy and addictive taco sauce(not hot sauce), and a quality execution. Standard fare favorites include: Hard Shell Taco(g beef, cheese, lettuce, tomato), Combo Burrito(g beef, beans, cheese) and a raspberry iced tea. Taco Lita is not so much a restaurant as it is an experience. It is a fond childhood memory. It is history. Geez, now you’ve got me all emotional…
