I’ve been here a few times now and would definitely come back. Great service, great coffee!

Mosgoes has been an Arcata staple coffee shop for years now. I learned like 80% of my college major here. The atmosphere is great for studying usually. I’m really glad this place exists and try to support it properly. Their food offerings are pretty weak however. It’s obvious that they are cutting some major operational costs in this department. I totally understand, and prefer them to cut these costs if it means not closing down. Almost everything from costco, and just very few options. Don’t come here expecting lunch. They are also(or at least used to be) pretty militant about eating outside food in the shop. Understandable, but if that’s the case, gotta have some real options for food besides a bagel with cream cheese, cucumber, and larapin for 5.50!

Friendly service and great drinks! They often have a special flavor of homemade whipped cream to compliment their drink of the day. The food is great too!

Overall: Great location, with really awesome access from the freeway. We’re on a road trip so it was quick to find. Id definitely go back if we come through here again. Positives: — unexpectedly good coffee quality. — really great service, and cheerful as well. — we ordered food and coffee and both came out quickly. — lots of seating options. Negatives: — it’s located in a shopping complex. This isn’t bad, but is deceptive for the quality of the place.

This place was cool! Stopped in for chai and a hummus sandwich, but really mostly to use their WiFi and bathroom. Oh, shit… could I sound any more like a Drainbow?! Seriously, I swear I have good hygiene and a strong work ethic — it’s just that I was on a roadtrip, and you know how it goes. Anyway, service here was great(customer AND WiFi, LOL), food/drink quality/price was fine, and ambiance was relaxed and funky without being oppressively hipster/hippie.

I ordered a smoothie and the menu didn’t state bananas were in it. I started to drink it and the only thing I could taste was banana what if I were allergic? They needed to add banana to the menu. Otherwise mellow place

I love their gingerbread lattes and their special pumpkin spice whip cream. They also have great regular coffee. The staff is always so nice and happy to see you. The only issue is it is sooo hot inside. So if your planning on studying there wear layers!

Delicious, organic coffee. Free wifi and ample seating. My only complaint is their food is terrible. It’s all that prepackaged«royal» brand crap they sell at gas stations.

Awesome coffee and espresso! Love their daily specials, always fun to try something different and their options never disappoint. Love thier specialty whipped cream! My favirite so far has been butterscotch whipped cream! I get my lattes extra sweet! Mmmm a great pick me up… awesome staff and great music playing. Lots of tables and space for large groups. My perfect pick me up!

Okay, with the new operator the price has being consistent. Took me about a month to get use to the changes. But coffee is coffee. That has not changed. Again, I wish they offer better pastries rather than CostCo bought pies and muffins.

I always go to this café to do homework. I have tried every other café in this area and this is the only one I can concentrate on. The staff is always pretty nice but I never had the urge to write a review until my barista was Julie. She is the nicest most helpful person here. I do not know if she is new or what but she made me a special drink and brought my a little sample first just to make sure I liked it before I bought it. That extra effort is so appreciated. My only negative: I wish they would put rubber stoppers on the bottom of the chairs. They are SO loud when people scoot around.

Their Mexican mocha was awesome, cinnamon-y sweet with chocolate and whipped cream. Yum!

Now that they are Mosgo’s again and not Café Veritas things are back on track. Their Equator coffee is not only delicious but also ethical and fair trade. I like that the location is more residential, allowing for a mellower feel and a relaxed atmosphere. This is a great place to study or catch up with friends. Plus the staff are always friendly and helpful.

EDIT: MOSGO’S ISBACK! Thanks to a little reminder from the owners on my not-so-lovely review(see below), I am righting my post to reflect the lovely café that is Mosgo’s. I am so happy you are back, guys, you really made the neighborhood. Everyone go get some deliciously Equator Coffee(endangered species friendly!) and enjoy this local business! Original post: «Mosgo’s is no more, they have changed their name to Café Veritás. I used to come in here, get a good hot cup of Moka Java from Equator coffee and a well toasted Los Bagels masterpiece with whatever toppings I felt like having that morning. Good internet connection, cozy atmosphere, and pleasant lighting. This morning, however, I come in to see that „Mosgo’s“ is under new management. I got a cup of coffee that tastes like every other coffee in this town because it is now yet another local roaster(does it really matter if it’s roasted here or in So-Cal? The beans are grown in Central America anyways — no coffee is local). The coffee table now has no soy, no non-fat — and no spoons. I ordered a bagel with cream cheese because there were absolutely no other toppings offered. I then get my bagel(which I think I paid about $ 3 for) and find that it is a costco bagel. Chewy, flavorless, and smothered. The internet is also minimal, since they put a bandwidth limit allotment for each IP address, which is fine, but neither of the signals are decent, even within the café. What happened? Come on, guys, strive for better, I believe in you! A trendy new name can’t do it alone.»

A nice place to study or get flowering tea. Fun Open Mic night too! Not for the quick cup of coffee, always take a while in there, eve when its not busy at all.

Man, I’ve got to give it up to Mosgo’s. I’ve spent more hours than I would like to admit studying there, because they’ve got what I need: a comfortable place, with reliably decent coffee, friendly staff who usually play music that I like, and the all-important wireless internet. Now, their connection is somewhat slow and dodgy, but that just serves as a much-needed reminder to look back down at my textbook.

Mosgo’s uses organic, fair trade coffee and products in all of their drinks, and I appreciate that. The service is always nice and friendly, and the shop is very clean. It’s a great atmosphere to sit, read, study, or hang with a friend. Also, they serve waffles sometimes. Even the decaf is good. One of the best coffee shops in town, and it’s a non profit too! I enjoy supporting this business: a great addition to the community. ***it’s 3 months later and i would like to add that i have gone back and had the waffles twice. get the waffles with the whipped cream and fruit; they’re wonderul!

Moscos delivers a good cup of coffee for the price. Everything is fresh and organic. It is a non-profit as well with most of the money going to the community center next door. Combine with a nice atmosphere and you have a great little coffee shop.
