I was visiting my bf(neither of us being anywhere near the age freshman students). And he mentioned this place. I expected it to be like a Spencer’s geared more toward sexual items. Wrong. The whole room is well lit and spacious. So as my bf and I looked around we felt extremely awkward being within seeing and hearing distance of the check out desk. Like, hello! A little privacy would be nice.

This is a nice little sex shop with lots of variety and cute, inexpensive stockings/lingerie. They also have a little section that has water pipes and glass art pipes so you can shop for your sex items and your smoking needs!

Only been here once, what struck me as odd is the magazines on the shelf that are discounted because they had been opened and read(most are plastic wrapped). They were USED, as in really used. I had the impression that the owner or employees read these things(and enjoy themselves…) pass them around to their buddies and then discount them. Just weird. The selection is okay but very, very expensive for toys and novelties. eBay is a better, cheaper choice and more anonymous. The greasy guys coming out of the back video room don’t make it a place for females. So my visit was short stayed and my curiosity was sated. Update: Talked to the owner about my experiences and he says he is looking for input and wants to please. I lime that he reaches to the locals. Thanks!

The pleasure center isn’t at all a classy place to go(not that porn shops are supposed to be.) It has some video booths, a big selection of magazines, a big selection of(lower quality) videos, and a smaller novelty section with some dildos, vibrators, floggers, slappers, etc. The place gives the impression of pretty much who it serves– HSU freshmen who wander in once out of curiosity or to buy a replacement vibrator, and local pervs who want some new some jerk-off material. There isn’t that much stuff geared toward women and couples here, and if that’s what you’re looking for, definitely head over to Good Relations on 2nd in Eureka.

Fondly referred to as the«PC», Arcata’s only sex shop is nestled just off the Humboldt State campus. A great place to treat those barely legals to a bit of eye candy… and a bit of porn shop reality. The novelty section is decent(includes Anna the Ewe, and a few other classic inflatables), the magazine rack is about average, and the video selection is intense. Floor to ceiling DVDs line this little shop and is usually crawling with all walks of perverted life. Tip: Stay away from the quarter booths unless you have a full biotech suit.
