Although the chai has a good spice to it, it lacks that rich taste that other chais have. It tastes a bit watered down. My boyfriend got the classic macchiato(without any flavoring) and thought is was very good. The atmosphere is very nice and calm. We both enjoyed the music and the ambiance. The staff was nice and personable.

The fresh pressed juices are a quick and easy way for me to make sure I get in the greens that I need as an athlete while living an on the go lifestyle. The owners of the shop are outstanding in third knowledge of nutrition and are always looking for ways to help me be at my best. On the colder mornings, I might substitute an organic coffee.

Such a great little place! Fresh, organic, and delish! Will definitely stop in on our next trip through! Owner was super friendly! Even let us try some of his juices!

Super amazing experience and everything was awesome. The mini soufflé was probably my ideal definition of a good breakfast and the panini I had was also a winner. The ice cream was great and the medicine balls are all worth it. Definitely looking forward to coming back sometime.

First, to give this place its proper dues, I admit that it clearly fills a need for organic, natural, health-conscious food in the area, and accordingly it has its fans. The store itself is nicely done and welcoming, and the staff is friendly. That said, this was one of the most overpriced and unsatisfying meals I’ve had in a long time. I ordered the mini-soufflé($ 5), and to give it substance and balance I added the suggested kale, mushrooms, and meat(+$ 2). On top of that, since the beef«bone broth» was highly touted on the menu and elsewhere in the café, I ordered a bowl of it($ 5 seemed pricey for a bowl of broth, but I was curious). I also asked for a slice of bread, and was charged an extra $ 1.50 for that(given that I’d already spent $ 12 I’d figured a slice of bread might be complimentary, but apparently not). So the total came to about $ 14, and then the owner(who took my order and cashed me out) used language suggesting I add a tip. Three problems with this: 1. I don’t like feeling a need to tip for counter service; 2. It’s always a little odd for the the owner of the restaurant to suggest tipping him/her; 3. The tip options on the payment screen were on the high side for counter service. Anyway, I could be okay with spending that kind of money on a decent and substantial brunch, but this ended up being neither. While the soufflé itself was small(okay, that was in the name…), it was decent, but it lacked flavor and the added ham was so scant as to be almost unnoticeable(I did find a couple of traces). As for the broth, it honestly may have been the most awful tasting dish I’d ever ordered in a restaurant. Now, to be fair, it’s possible that beef bone broth is not supposed to taste anything like beef broth, and that I had no idea what I was ordering, but still, it was nearly gag-inducing for me. The bread I paid $ 1.50 was a small, single slice of uninspiring rye toast(maybe it was gluten-free? That would explain things). Anyway, by now it should be foreseeable that I left this place in a bit of a bad mood. I do feel a little bad for leaving such a critical review, but the simple truth is that my experience here was rather unsatisfactory. Sigh.

Highly recommend! The food was delicious, the staff were nice, and the juice was awesome. You can sample the juice– all were good! The sunrise surprise was one of my favorites. The food was great too. The veggie wrap was fantastic. They have real bone broth. You can’t go wrong!

Stopped in our way back to Charlotte. Had the meat-a-terrian Naan pizza. I was a bit nervous coz Naans can be thick and dry but on the contrary it was moist and good and not too thick. Had the grilled cheese it was really crispy and gooey. The tabouli that went with it was really good(my advice add a dash of lemon juice) The owner was super nice and helpful, especially considering it took us forever to decide on what we wanted. Setting is good, art on the wall to look at and books to read. I recommend it!

A fun selection of fresh pressed juice and food! Only giving 3 stars because the owner is not the friendliest and the service is slow.

This place rocks. They have the best apple/carrot/ginger juice I have ever had. Their gluten free bread is very yummy. If you appreciate healthy food that tastes great, I highly recommend it.

Nice organic café we stumbled into looking for a cup of coffee. Had the 20oz American espresso and was very satisfied. Owner Dan came over shortly after we found our seats and offered a taste of some fresh, cold-pressed juice he had just concocted called Sunshine. Great flavors with hints of ginger and tumeric. Stayed to download a movie on the free WiFi. Great friendly staff and an owner who seems to honestly care about his customers.

Organic and local everything! My wife and I had delicious milk frothed with organic espresso for a PERFECT latte. We had an amazing soufflé made from pasture eggs combined with local vegetables and cheeses. The couple that owns the place were the ones here making our food and making sure we had a pleasant breakfast. This is truly a special place. We stayed at a hotel on the interstate as we passed through Asheville and Unilocal helped us find Medea’s … what a wonderful and charming surprise!

Extremely overpriced for the food actually given. Paid for a «large» salad which hardly filled the to go container. I also paid extra for turkey of which only a few overlooked thin strips were placed on top. The woman behind the counter was pushy and kept asking for a tip as well as pushing we buy the $ 8 juice after consistently asking for water. I would definitely never ever return… what a disappointment

What an awesome find during our first visit to the Asheville area. We were looking for something on the healthy side and this hit the spot perfectly. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful while we were there in addition to being so polite to our three little hungry ones. We had the goat cheese focaccia that had red onions, apple, and greens. I really enjoyed how the bread was not buttered but I would have liked more greens/onions/apples and less goat cheese. The cheese really did overpower everything. Our kids devoured the meatatarian flat bread pizza that the owner’s son developed, good taste kid! We also ordered two brownies and they came out warm and gooey!!! On my way out I took a sunrise juice to go and even my anti-juice wife enjoyed it. I really liked this place and will definitely return.

My new favorite restaurant! Medea’s has a great variety of very healthy and organic food. I absolutely love eating here because I know I am putting good food into my body and it fills me up! Medea’s offers many vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options along with a variety of healthy juices and smoothies. I highly recommend trying the veggie lovers wrap with the cucumber and sea vegetable salad. Very, very tasty and healthy food for an affordable price. Definitely recommend this place!

Went for Java and fell for Juice! My daughter who works at Earth Fare(and knows what great quality stuff Medea’s purchases there) had recommended and I decided to try for a coffee date with a friend. Coffee was excellent as was the oatmeal but boy was I awed by the JUICE! I was able to try a couple of samples(which I love) first and the Detox I bought really did make me feel great, so now I want to go back and try all the combinations.

First discovered this place by chance as I took my daughter to play at the Lake Julia park. I ordered the Green Revolution smoothie(amazing!) and my 2-year-old daughter had an adapted version of the grilled cheese sandwich. The staff are highly knowledgeable about their offerings and food allergies. I have celiac and have ordered the gluten-free wraps and cupcakes without side-effect. All the fruits and veggies are organic, so I feel 100% good about eating here!

My new favorite place! Great almond milk lattes and sensational selection of vegan yummies! All staff seems very friendly especially the young lady on Sundays. I’ve not tried the juices yet, but expect them to be great. I’m glad to have such a good option in South Asheville! Thanks.

I recommended this place to my friends for a group lunch and after we placed our orders it took 45 minutes to get 7 meals out — my order was wrong but they fixed it quickly –my appetizer came out with my food– my food was good but my husbands 9.50 sandwich had 1 slice of roast beef on his roast beef sandwich — probably not a place for group lunches but I heard the espresso was great:)
