Confessions of a Former employee.
The short version? Hateful clueless management, so much waste your head will spin, and UNSAFE FOOD!
I’ll start will the one that most people will care about. When I worked here I was trained as a produce clerk, and I was supposed to be able to work in meat department.
I never got trained in meat and when it came time to work over there my night manager told me to «pretend I was doing something over there for a few hours and then get carts» NO JOKE!
So I did as I was told, this was my first job and I didn’t want to go against anyone’s wishes, and he was completely serious when he said that.
So I while passes after that. The night manger tells me «go to produce quick, its a wreck over there» then changes his mind 5 minutes into me being over there. «Go work meat, a lot of dates are way out, and some of the meat looks really bad» again I tell him they haven’t trained me, to which he says, «Pull stuff that looks bad».
So I’m pulling bad meat, maybe 10 minutes into this I get called over the intercom. They tell me that for the rest of my 7 hours 45 minutes I’ll be working in STATIONARY AND BACK TO SCHOOL.
So produce was a wreck? and meat was bad? but screw it! back to school and stationary. Two sections where I know where NOTHING is. And there is bad product on the shelf. COMPLETELY NASTY.
I tried to get on day shift, got promised a job on day shift, signed up for night classes at school, and the day they said I’d start day shift they tell me «Oh…we forgot you were wanting day shift, WE GAVE THE JOB TO SOMEONE ELSE»
I quit, showed up on my record as not giving notice when I wanted to come back after that semester. Honestly screw these people.
Just to add insult to injury. We got sent so much stuff we didn’t need. At one point we got like 3 pallets of apples forced out to us. 2 of them completely rotted before we got to them…2 PALLETS OF APPLES WASTED. honestly.
