Ardmore Spa & Nails

Updating my review after a recent negative experience. I have been a loyal customer of this salon and have even brought friends and family there on multiple occasions.
Recently, I was getting a manicure/​pedicure with my friend who remarked that she liked the color I had chosen for my feet and would like to use that same color. I then was ready for my manicure so I left the pedicure area and went over to the table for nails.
As I was getting the manicure, the woman doing my friend’s pedicure came over and aggressively asked me where the polish was from my pedicure. I replied that I didn’t know and she said, accusingly, «Well, you had it!» I never touched it after sitting down in the pedicure chair. It either was put on the pedicure cart and wheeled away or misplaced by another employee. Soon, several of the employees were frantically looking around the salon for it and looking at me accusingly while saying «you had it last!» When I went up to pay for my services, two employees blatantly looked in my purse to see if I had stolen it. Get real — like I’m going to steal an $ 8 bottle of nail polish.
The polish was Essie’s «Coat Couture,» by the way. I hope one of the employees reads this and feels like an asshole, because I’m sure it’s sitting on the shelf with the other polishes. They have lost a faithful customer over this. Never again. I’ll take my money elsewhere.

The only nice part of this experience was the atmosphere and ending hand massage. Needless to say I wish I listened to the other reviews and went were I normally do.

This place opened up last fall, and I’ve tried it twice because it’s really close to my house. I have been dissatisfied both times. They do this weird thing where instead of soaking your nails before cutting your cuticles, they put on lotion and place plastic hand warmers over your hands. Needless to say, this does not soften cuticles adequately enough to be cut. I have had to touch up my cuticles on both occasions, and once I even had to fix the nail polish job while the tech was sitting in front of me.
The interior is nice because it’s brand new and nobody goes there. But there is no hospitality, just the workers sitting around and playing cell phone games or watching vidoes on thir phones.
Normally I don’t write bad reviews for local businesses, as I want to see them do well. But there is a reviewer who gave my regular nail salon, and every other salon in the Ardmore area a single star and said go to this place instead. Don’t buy it!
