The cupcakes were okay but not anything special or memorable about them. The frosting was dense and the cake tasted boxed(not necessarily a bad thing in my opinion, but you might as well buy a box of cake mix and make yourself 12 cupcakes for 3 dollars instead of buying one).

I won’t be back. The cupcakes were fine, nothing special. I can make them just as well. My husband asked me to pick up 24 mini cupcakes for my children’s birthday. 24 of those little two bite ones and they charged me $ 66 dollars. Unreal. I will spend some quality time with a box mix next year and have something just as good without feeling like I was taken advantage of.

Cupcakes are great and come in a great little container for gifting and traveling. The flavors are different but not too out there. I like to stop and get a little treat for people.

I received a variety pack of their cupcakes as a gift when my daughter was born. I had walked by the store many times before and thought to myself that their prices were exorbitant(even for the«Farmer’s Market»). Usually you get what you pay for, so I was excited to try them and also excited that I didn’t have to pay for them. All of the options were extremely disappointing. The cake itself was OK — nothing extraordinary. The icing was the real problem. Every one of the cupcakes had an artificial flavor that I likened to a Russel Stover’s candy. My wife agreed with me on this point and she is just as happy with a grocery store cupcake. We had a hard time eating through the whole box and we only finished it because I am against wasting food. Bottom line — every one tasted like cheap, drugstore candy. Much better options nearby at «Crumbs» or even closer at the«Ultimate Bakery.» Try the«Mommy» cupcake at Ultimate. You will not be disappointed.

After a not-so-satisfying trip to Crumbs(or Crummy’s as I now like to refer to this terrible excuse for a cupcake store) earlier this week, I felt I needed to redeem myself to my taste buds & give them a fresh and all-natural treat. I was at the Farmer’s market and got a 6-pack of regular-sized cupcakes from Cupcakes Gourmet. They were $ 18. This is not cheap, but a dozen mini cupcakes at Crummy’s cost me $ 20 and they were horrible, so it is relative I guess. My favorite is plain vanilla with vanilla icing. You can see the vanilla beans in the icing. You know it is the real deal just by looking at it. While they are certainly overpriced and I cannot say that any cupcake is worth $ 3, they are absolutely beautiful, taste delicious and are fresh. The vanilla cake is perfect and they put the right amount of not-too-sweet icing on top. Their quality control is great. Nothing was frozen & thawed. The service was excellent. The woman there is very kind & knowledgable. I would give this 5 stars if it was less expensive. I think a cupcake there is easily worth $ 2. Basically, if you are planning to go to Crummy’s, stop yourself. It is a bit of a farther walk in Suburban Square, but you should re-route yourself to the Farmer’s Market and spend the obscene amount of money you planned to lay down at Crummy’s at Cupcake’s Gourmet instead.

Nothing special and overpriced even for the Ardmore Farmers market. Go to the Amish stand instead! $ 2.50 for a MINI cupcake… like one you’d get in a pack of 10 at the grocery store and not much better.

Yay! What’s with the dearth of cupcake shops in Philly? I’d seen Cupcakes Gourmet at the farmer’s market here before, but never tried it because, well, i *am* trying to watch my figure, after all. not to mention, i knew that if i fell in love with this place, it would be the end of me. well, the end of not-fat-me, at least. so st. patty’s day rolled around, and i ALWAYS get a guinness cupcake, so i had to break my cupcake fast and stop in here. lucky for me, they had little mini cupcakes which would be just enough to satisfy my chocolate guinness craving. this cake had irish whiskey(jameson?) frosting, too. it was delish. perfectly moist, not overly sweet, and a good balance of cake + frosting. i went back a week or so later and ordered 18 minis for a little potluck/get-together in assorted flavors and my friends were all raving about them. as far as i can tell, this place is as legit as cupcake places come. only 4 of 5 stars for the steep price. the 18 minis cost me something like $ 33. i think one mini = $ 2.50, which is just ridiculous to me, though i know all cupcake shops are totally overly priced. comes with the territory, i guess.
