Yum! Yum! Yum! Fresh and great customer service. I’ve never had vegetable fried rice that was so fresh and tasty. I usually put a dab of duck sauce and a solo sh splash of soy sauce on my rice. The taste was so flavorful nothing was needed. I contemplated ordering more, but that was but my stomach talking!

Horrifically long wait. They can’t keep up with all the takeout orders. The waiting line keeps growing and they are understaffed terribly. I just hope the food is worth the wait…

I still love this Chinese restaurant! If you are in the mood for Chinese and would like to eat-in, Golden Bowl is the perfect place. The décor is modern and the dining room is kept extremely clean. The lunch specials we tried today were great. They come with a salad, soup or egg roll and a main course which can have either rice or lo-mein on the side. Lots of selections of entrees to choose from. I had the Shrimp & Walnuts with brown rice. The shrimps had a light crisp and were covered in a sweet sauce. Very delicious. The Wonton soup that came with my meal was very, very good as well. I always love my meal at Golden Bowl!

For take out? Great. On Christmas Eve and then this past weekend we ate there. The service was not only poor but out waitress was actually mean! We needed to ask 2 times for many of our items. When we questioned if something were shrimp or not she said«it is»! Never going back.

Save your time — just flush your money down the toilet. Worst«Chinese» food I’ve ever had. Restaurant is very dirty inside and the food is inedible. Probably one of the worst, if not the worst, dining experience I’ve ever encountered. Highly regret going here. Will never return.

So far so good. Just walked in, ordered &10 mins later I have my food. I’ll edit my review once I’m indulging in my food. This place was extremely clean & the staff is really nice. So although my food was good not even a day later I started to feel sick I’m not sure what they are doing wrong but this is definitely the last time I will ever eat here and won’t be recommending.

Dined at Golden Bowl last night. Yes, it was Christmas but that was NO excuse for what occurred. Had reservations for 6:00pm. Arrived on time and could barely get into the door. We were made to wait until 6:45pm while others who arrived later were seated. Two different reservation books were used. If you did not speak up(squeaky wheel gets the oil) you were ignored. Parties of two were seated at table for four while a smaller, perhaps less desirable table for 2 or 3 was available. Now for the food/service– it took 20 minutes with request to server to just get water; another 10 to have order taken; another 10 to have napkins, eating utensils, cups and tea brought to table– had to request sugar/sweetener which was taken from another table. Appetizers arrived together but that was the last timely service. Entrees arrived piecemeal and lukewarm, at best. We were told, as the white rice(gummy) was placed on the table, that they ran out of the requested brown rice. It took another five minutes to get server’s attention that the two entrees needed to be reheated and after they were taken the third entrée finally arrived. When the items returned my ‘triple delight’ which was supposed to have been delivered on a sizzling platter, arrived on a cold plate and was tasteless(albeit salty!) as was another dish. Our forks were on our plates barely 30 seconds when the check arrived! Time of departure– 8:45pm(!!!) and, no, no after– dinner conversation. To the owners: very poor planning, poor service, food — memorable for negative reasons!

I am basing my review on the food only. We ordered Wonton Soup, Stuffed Eggplant Special and Szechuan Chicken. Overall the food was meh. The eggplant swam in a glop of rich, sweet sauce that tasted like it came out of a bottle. The chicken was boring – I can’t even get into it. C’mon! Where is the authenticity in this food? Oh, I have an idea – I should drive 25 minutes to Philadelphia’s Chinatown for real food! Duh. We went on Christmas Eve and had reservations – lucky thing because by the time we left, it was a packed house. Why it was packed is beyond me.

Stumbled in here on accident for lunch one day and we were very pleasantly surprised. We ware in the sit down side. We met the the owner and she said that although the restaurants share the same name, they don’t share a kitchen so the better chef is on the sit down dinner side. The prices from both places are very comparable if not the same. I ordered the honey walnut chicken lunch special and my boyfriend got the Peking duck. That peking duck was delicious! Best we’ve had anywhere between NYC and Philly. Apparently their secret is to roast every piece separately after after cutting vs roasting the entire duck and then cutting. The honey walnut chicken was also delicious, exactly as you’ll find at those large Cantonese restaurants in NY. For the lunch special it also comes with a base, an appetizer and a free salad. I just got regular white rice with hot and sour soup and my boyfriend got fried rice with wonton soup. All were really good, but not phenomenal. Overall the food and experience was great. The portions for lunch were a little small, but for the quality of the food and under $ 10 total it was great. Our server was really nice and attentive, but we were also the only people in the restaurant at that time.

I’m pretty disappointed with this. Not only is the food less than average, the prices are much too high. And the worst part is that the prices were higher on the bill than they were posted on the internet. I realize it may be difficult to update that information, but I still feel deceived when it happens. Conclusion: not worth it, especially when there is plenty of better competition in the area!

Basically good food. That being said, the staff(including the manager) is completely inflexible with regards to making substitutions which I find to be very frustrating. Also, BEWARE: if you order brown rice they charge you extra… of course you only find that out when you get your bill. Overall I think they could do better with service and allowing the customer to be a little creative with their ordering and also when the wait staff asks if you want white or brown rice they should also tell you about extra charge for ordering brown rice.

Food was fresh and tasted so much better than any of the local Asian food I’ve had in the area. The décor was modern and clean. I’ll definitely be back.

Very nice owners! Good clean food, clean eat in resturaunt, great quality service! I have eaten here for over 5 years. The food is consistently good and of excellent quality. I removed a star because it is a little on the pricier side for chinese food. Nonetheless worth the price! My favorite is the general tso chicken. They use white meat and bread it like fried chicken! This is one must try place to eat!

Favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. The food is great and the service is amazing. Like all Chinese restaurants they give you tons of food for a reasonable price. Check it out if you haven’t already!

A short walk from the Ardmore Music Hall, this little jem stands out. We left a show a little early on a Friday night since my wife was hungry and nothing at the theater caught her eye. A 3 min walk away, this place was still open at 10:30 so we thought we would give it a try. Boy where we glad we did. Very surprising to get honest, authentic Chinese food like this in the suburbs. All very high quality and served with a smile. Darren, our waiter made some suggestions off the menu which were fantastic. We stuck to some more well known dishes since it was our first time there. Miso and wonton soups were very good. The spare ribs were fall off the bone good without that honey glaze so many Chinese restaurants throw on their reheated ribs. My wife had the seafood delight which featured shrimp, scallops, cod and lobster in a light sauce with mixed vegetables, all cooked to perfection. I ordered the best Peking Duck I’ve had in at least 20 – 30 years. Yes, better than Sang Kee downtown. In fact, Sang Kee is probably a good comparison as the authenticity is very similar but the quality is better here with a staff who actually make you feel valued(even late at night near closing time) rather than a nuisance. I will be returning frequently and bringing friends.
