This office was to look at an Achilles Tendon issue. The appointment was supposed to be 45 minutes(I was late 15 minutes due to my error). All that was done were measurements and instructions on two stretching exercises. No stim, not ultrasound, nothing radical. I was asked for my copay before seeing the technician. The ankle was much worse the next day, but I thought maybe progress takes time. I waited a day for the pain to subside and the next day did the stretching again. Worse again. I cancelled the next two followup appointments. They have a clause they pointed out in their paperwork that I signed that says«I acknowledge that the practice of medicine is not an exact science and that no guarantees have been made as to the results of any procedures, treatments or examinations.» It’s in the 1st paragraph of 10 that you sign as the consent. I expect it’s there due to the fact that they have possibly had other complaints. I was going to just let this go until I got a bill for my deductible over and above the insurance and co-pay portions. They billed insurance $ 306.00 for that 45 minute visit. At no time did they mention this was anything more than an office visit that a patient would expect under the co-pay rules of insurance. I feel that the service is dragged out to accomplish what looks like a thorough examination, results are not the goal, and that had I gone back for the other visits I would have been charged differently.
