The NMT has been a patient of Dr. Foster at Main Line Psychiatric for several months now, and she’s also worked with us as a family. NMT is a very engaging, happy child with ADHD and school anxiety. He is smart and capable and does amazing things when he’s not stuck in an anxious state. We came to Dr. Foster after working with other clinicians, some who got great outcomes and some who did not. it was clear he needed better management than his pediatrician could provide. Good child psychiatrists(heck, ANY child psychiatrist) are hard to find, almost always Out Of Network, and not many provide a variety of therapy sessions. It’s not unusual to wait 3 – 4 weeks for a $ 600 session. So we considered it a minor miracle when Dr. Foster could initially see us within a week. She is a very capable physician, astute, approachable, reasonable and supportive. She has a way of working with the NMT that cuts through his anxiety rants and gets him able to just settle and do what he does best. Further, she looked at our entire family and has helped us all work together as a team better, recognizing that we are a system. Like basically everyone else, she doesn’t accept insurance, however her standard rate is not quite as blazingly high as some of the others of equal skill and she has been known to work with families who truly need some relief. It is, for us, money well spent.
