My fiancé and I really enjoyed our meal here! The restaurant is cute and cozy(café style) and the menu had many vegetarian options which we were thrilled about! Many of the ingredients are organic and locally sourced too which we love. We split the mac&cheese, the veggie panini, and the kale salad, and I got a «taste» size of butternut squash carrot soup and we finished the meal with a triple chocolate cookie and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The kale salad was out of this world and the vanilla ice cream was the best ice cream I have ever tasted. I also love that there are different serving size options(«taste», «entrée», and«family») — so it’s great if you want to try multiple items from the menu and share. Our server, who may have been an owner(?) was super friendly and clearly passionate about the food that they serve. The only downside is that we just discovered this gem and are moving out of town in a few months!

This place is insanely good. Stumbled in on a weeknight and ate their Italian panini, which was without question the best sandwich I’ve ever had. I added a side of their specialty brussels sprouts salad, too, which made for one of the greatest meals $ 14 can buy. Plus, the décor and service is fantastic. Highly recommend this place.

Simply the best catering/food on the main line! Inovative cuisine, healthy, and fresh. Nice people too. They serve lunch so you can give it a try in Ardmore.

We ordered from the menu tapas-style: getting appetizer-sized tasting choices. Our favorite dishes: the kale salad, squash soup, beet latkes, three cheese macaroni and tarte tartin for dessert(we also had chicken tagine, though it was our least favorite). Thanks to the BYOB policy, our meal was only $ 40 for two. While we enjoyed our meal very much, it was hard to figure out what The Tasting Room is really trying to be: an intimate sit-down restaurant or a walk-in deli counter. When I dine out, I expect the experience to be somewhat special. But, when folks came in to get food to go from the glass display case, it just seemed odd. Also strange was that menu choices were pre-cooked and chilled in the cooler at the cash register, then reheated. The ingredients may have been healthy and fresh, but seeing everything in the case made it seem we were eating yesterday’s leftovers.

Always good. It’s our preferred place to eat. Byob. Seasonal menu. Love the kale salad. Every tastes good. I have had the fish and beets, lamb and potatoes, Panini sandwich, flourless cake, ice cream. Friendly staff. Take out or sit down limited seating.

It was awesome! Only reason it isn’t 5 stars is because I reserve those for the best meals of my life but me and my girlfriends really enjoyed this little spot :-) I especially like that you can order tasting sizes to try different dishes.

Great food. We went for dinner and ordered a variety of items, and all were fresh and delicious. The kale salad was the best I’ve ever eaten. The mac’n’cheese was enjoyed by one son and reluctantly shared with the rest of us; the other devoured a Reuben; the salmon was tasty, fresh, and perfectly prepared. We had several other small plates, all of which were delicious. The cardamom-lemon soda was a lightly-carbonated, delicious surprise. Dessert offerings were different cakes and cookies, all homemade and tasty. We will return.

My husband and I absolutely love to eat out, and sometimes we prefer a casual restaurant with good quality food. The tasting room is just that! If you want to grab something to eat or enjoy a glass of wine with a nice meal– you can. We have eaten here 2 or 3 times and have tried numerous items on the menu. If you order an entrée you usually get a large portion. For example, if you order a turkey rueben as your entrée you get a full sandwich, and if you order a taste you get half. The turkey rueben, veggie panini, and grilled cheese are all excellent choices. The Mac and cheese is also delicious. I thought the squash and carrot soup could have used more flavor, but it was not bad at all. The tomato soup is much better. My husband and I also enjoyed the fried chicken. The entrée portion was very decent. However, my husband ordered a meatloaf entrée and we actually thought they made a mistake, but the owner then said that it was just a smaller piece. We weren’t really impressed by that because it was priced as an entrée. The ice cream sandwiches are also delicious. Especially, the chocolate chip and vanilla and chocolate combo. I do wish they would offer regular soft drinks. You can get spritzers which are a nice change to your typical selection, but I also enjoy the original coke or Pepsi every now and then. Overall, I would highly recommend this place. My favorite items are definitely the sandwiches, but no matter what you try– chances are you will love it.

Really tasty food here. Great balance of flavors and lots of flavor at that. The Tunisian cod is yum. Their sides are awesome. Kale salad to die for. Only knock is it definitely isn’t low fat. Then again if eating out sometimes it’s good to endulge. Lots of butter used and you definitely don’t need to add any salt. Overall good enough to get me coming back. Maybe a tad pricy for premade, but then again it at least doesn’t taste premade. The cook definitely cares about their craft.

The Tasting Room is good but definitely not five star material, so I’m not quite sure what my fellow Unilocalers are seeing here. The TR is a store front on Lancaster Ave and is the sit down component of a catering company. We enjoyed ten different selections, each about $ 5, including some specials with a Korean flair as well as the best butternut squash soup I’ve ever had. Everything was good, and a few dishes were very good, but apart from the aforementioned soup nothing was epic. The sit down area seats about 20, and it is BYOB. This is kind of a hybrid in that it isn’t quite a restaurant but it isn’t strictly takeout(although a number of patrons were doing just that, and if you need a dinner for the fam this to take home after a busy day at work this is an excellent choice). If you are looking for a more traditional sit down restaurant concept, this isn’t for you. However, if you don’t mind the atmosphere(which is brightly lit, noisy, and is a little bit like an operating room) the TR represents a very good value for the BYOB crowd, of which I might be the Mayor.

Had kale salad, turkey panini and onion rings. All were perfect, I like this place because you get small portions and get to try a variety. Great music and vibe in the place.

The kale salad was excellent, the cod was very good, the beet and carrot latkes were good as was the«Green Gratin.» But the fried chicken was a disappointment(boned white meat breaded with panko crumbs). It was bland to my taste and not juicy. The service was friendly, helpful, and competent. All 5-star reviews may be a little overenthusiastic. BYOB.

Incredibly friendly, clean and together spot. A refreshing addition to the Main Line. Great food choices that are always super fresh and tasty. Lots to choose from and easy to eat healthy here. I’ve been here about 5 or 6 times and have had great meals, snacks and desserts. Convenient for pre-show if you’re seeing music across the street at Ardmore Music Hall. Also I’d recommend it for commuters who want to pick up dinner on the way home from the Ardmore train station. They also catered a lunch meeting at my work. Everyone was happy with the meal. Definitely creative, definitely delicious. Do not skip dessert!

My wife found this little gem in the neighborhood and took me for lunch today. The place has a great ambiance and the food looks healthy, fresh and it just tastes delicious. Will definitely keep this place in mind for a meal next time.

This place is a much needed addition to the Ardmore dining scene. Call it(or make it) what you want. .. Upscale fast casual(or environmentally friendly, you get REAL plates and silverware), or a true sit down dinner with table service. This place is sure to delight. Did I mention that the food is delicious? Don’t pass this spot by. It may be hard to find unless you’re looking for it, but you should find it and stop in ASAP!

What a great new place to grab lunch/dinner. Its a byob which I’m always a fan of. Food is delicious. I always buy extra to bring home as lunch or dinner for the next day, and I think I’m having a secret love affair with the chocolate oat bars.

Great food in a chill vibe. The food is already prepared and so you can look at it, decide what you want, and then they warm it for you if you are eating in or want it warmed for take out. They don’t microwave, they use a classy high tech oven that heats things fast and doesn’t make them mushy. I LOVETHISPLACE!!! Everything is good. High quality ingredients. Owners that care and put love into the food. Sweet space. BYOB if you want. It is a secret spot for a mellow date nite with super good food that can come out quickly without a lot of pretension and for a lower than you’d expect cost. If you like veggies and don’t have enough in your life, you will find great choices here. Unique flavors. If you want to eat meat but hate hormone laden chemical meat, you will appreciate the quality of their choices. They use local ingredients. Hormone grassfed meat. Organic. Don’t wait. Go now!

As soon as I saw the offerings at The Tasting Room I literally said, «How is it possible for all my favorite foods to be in one place?» It would have been a challenge for me to choose one thing so thankfully I didn’t have to. Every dish comes in three different sizes so you can try multiple dishes — works even better if you’re sharing with a friend or two! I loved everything I ate: flounder, buttermilk fried chicken, mac & cheese, brisket pot pie(not sure if that was the real name of that dish), Brussels sprouts, sweet potato fries, cauliflower and kale salad. Hey, I like to eat. Anyway the stand outs for me were definitely the brisket, kale and Brussels sprouts. YUM. The ingredients were super fresh, high quality and cooked to perfection. I will be back as often as possible.

Wonderful addition to a budding Ardmore culinary scene. One of the healthier(and tastier) options in the area, don’t be turned off by the seemingly uninventive name. On the contrary, The Tasting Room is a punny name in itself, in one sense eluding to a space dedicated to potential catering customers in which they are presented with an opportunity to taste their wares before taking the plunge; in another, to the way in which casual walk-in customers(this guy) may choose to have merely a «taste» size of each menu item, which is an affordable and enjoyable way to explore the drool-worthy menu. Overall, think fresh, local, American-style farm-to-table tapas, soups, salads, and sandwiches. The kale salad was one of the tastiest I’ve had. it somehow tasted like Bubby’s Passover Charoset(once I asked what was in it, that actually made some sense). The mushroom soup(vegetarian) was seriously chock full of tender, earthy criminis in a savory brown broth. Sharing an «entrée» portion of soup with a friend was a tremendous call(and a great deal — two hearty bowls for under $ 6). This joint is definitely worth an R5 layover(before or after a few at Tired Hands? That’s a no brainer. Clear your calendar. You’re going out for an early evening in A-Town baby.)
