Horrible service with non caring staff. Super long waits for appointment dates over 2 months. Very unprofessional.

Dr. Greg Nelson is an awesome doctor that I have been going to for years. I have had my cataracts removed and my husband has had years of excellent service by Dr. Nelson. But because of his incompetent office staff I will be going to a new doctor. My complaint is with his accounting staff. Recently I called to make an appointment because I was having a lot of floaters and it was time for my annual appointment and was told that I could not make any appointments because my account was in collections… WHAT… I asked them how much and they refused to tell me and told ME to call the collection agency. they gave me the collection agency number which I promptly called and was told that I did not owe any money and not sure why the doctor office said I did. I called the appointment desk and told them what the collection agency said and they told me that I would have to get it in writing before they could make the appointment. WHAT??? So I called back and had them fax over the statement that I was not owing any money. 3 days later I called back and they said they never received the fax. no fax, no appointment! WHAT??? I told them to call them and they refused .said I would have to clear my name before I could make an appointment. By now I am very angry and upset. What kind of staff would request a patient to do the leg work when the patient has not done anything wrong. Also, since I had not been at the office for a year, why hadn’t I received any bills or phone calls for the money they erroneously accused me of owing. So I called the collection agency back and they once again sent the confirmation that I did not owe a dime and never had. I left an angry voice mail to the doctor office staff telling them that maybe they needed to take an eye exam and be able to keep their records straight. If anyone in customer service ever treated a patient like they treated me, they would be looking for a new job. A few days later the office called and left a message that they would like to offer me an appointment. Sadly to say– I will have to sacrifice going to the best doctor I have ever had and find a new eye specialist to go to. At this point I could not ever go to the office and be civil to the staff after the way I was treated. They need to review the customer service they offer patients and be reminded that the patient and their insurance company that provided the payments are to be treated with dignity and respect. Dr. Nelson, I will miss you. You are the greatest!

I was looking for an ophthalmologist for a regular eye exam and found them online. They are conveniently located for me and decided to give a try. I made the appointment request online and the day after they called me back to schedule the date. As I was decided to go after work(5PM), they offered me an appointment 20 days later. I could have get one earlier without being too picky :) The technician performed an external eye acuity exam and the ophthalmologist a thorough inspection. The staff was friendly, helpful and explained everything in details. They were almost on time and did everything I needed and I expected.
