A Touch of Nostalgia

This is an adorable little shop, housed in a little house just outside of Historic Depot Square in Arlington, a suburb of Memphis.
When you walk in, you’re greeted with many delicate, feminine items to spruce up your home or yourself. Pretty embroidered glasses holders emblazoned with floral prints with a sling to wear over your shoulder, consignment antiques — tea sets, platters, and plates, all in delicate patterns, and delicate silver necklaces were the first things that I saw.
The necklaces, referred to as ‘God Tags’, are emblazoned with numbers of verses from the Bible, as well as simple shapes like crosses and crowns. You can also find silver skeleton key necklaces, which are quite popular right now. You’ll also find cute, embroidered pillows with sayings such as ‘My prince sleeps here’, perfect for the chair in a nursery.
If you’re looking for amazing-​smelling candles, look no further. A Touch Of Nostalgia carries candles in large and small sizes, and various scents, from Lakeshore Candle Company. They’re a blend of soy and vegetable wax and they smell amazing. My favorite is Michigan Cherry.
My favorite part of the store is near the back where more jewelry is kept. On the right side of the store is a selection of sterling silver necklaces and bracelets that can be engraved with a monogram — you can even get a tiny bracelet for a child. On the left side is the fun STAXX jewelry. If you haven’t heard of it, you should check it out if you like to mix and match. It’s modern, jewelry and you can make it funky or more conservative. You take a plain silver band with a screw on the top, and you selection from over a hundred different plastic, metal, and jeweled pieces to stack on top of each other — it’s usually two stackers, then a jeweled or metal screw-​in cap. A starter kit (ring with pre-​selected stackers and a jeweled or metal cap) will run you about $ 88. They’re not cheap, but they’re fun. You can make necklaces, too.
