This was my first time eating here and it was absolutely amazing. Amy and Abraham were very attentive and informative. The food was out of this world. I’ll def check it out in my home town.

The one day a year my boss decides to «treat us» with a free lunch happens to be for Christmas. We get to pick, they cater it and that’s it, our 1 day a year to be appreciated. And we wanted Mexican, something different than On the Border, which we got a few years ago. And everyone, and by everyone I mean like the 13 of us all decided to order Combo Fajitas with all the fixings of goodness that comes with it. When we picked it up everything was ice cold, the meat looked just weird, the chicken was thin pieces but was edible, but they barely cooked the onions and peppers with them they were cut so thick and hard, not a good look at all. Now it was like I said a free meal, so I took it like a champ and had to force myself to eat it because besides from the sides, of rice and the espinaca which was a spinach casserole type of thing kind of like spinach and artichoke dip, which was good. And the Queso & chips was pretty good, but then again how can you mess that up? Won’t probably go back here, even though we got it To-Go, our office is less than 2 miles away, so it seemed like they got our order ready hours before we received it, just wasn’t my cup of tea, I’ll hit up Mercado Juarez next time I want good fajitas!

Always great food and good quality. For lunch I had the spinach-and-cheese stuffed mushrooms and the ahi tuna appetizer with avocado. This is how to eat healthy at a Mexican food restaurant. Avoid carbs like the tortillas, nachos, chips, rice and beans.

Ok, so I don’t want to sound harsh with this review, but the restaurant really doesn’t stand out to me. I’ve tried multiple Mexican restaurants and the experience as well as the dishes taste the same. My friend decided to come here for her birthday and on a Saturday night I was pleasantly surprised that we were seated pretty early, considering we were a group of 14 plus people. The waitress we had was named Holli, and she was very good! She gave us our chips and salsa and waters pretty early which I love! The salsa was mediocre and I was really just wanting regular salsa. Instead they gave us three choices which had their own little flavor twist to them. Yeah, I wasn’t feeling it. I ordered the Shredded Beef Enchiladas with the Chile con Queso sauce and a Revolver draft beer. I was given a choice of either potatoes(mashed with cheese), or rice. She recommended the potatoes and so that’s what I chose. Let’s just say I wish I chose the rice instead. The enchiladas were good! I loved the cheese sauce, the beef was seasoned nicely and the meat was tender. I would definitely order those again! My bill came out to be $ 15.66 which is a fairly decent price range for dinner at a restaurant. Overall the experience was good! Holli was great, the enchiladas were good, the beer was good, and that is why I’m giving it four stars! However, this place does not stand out from any other Mexican restaurant to me and I’ve had similar experiences at other places as well. Still give it a try!

We were at Total Wine and the weather was totally nasty out. We had plans to go home and make sangria until my fiancé reminded me of the flan. We had our friend with us who loves this place. So we changed our plans and dropped in. Our waitress was the same one from our last visit. How funny! She remembered us. She was just as friendly and chipper. She took great care of us. This time I tried the shrimp and steak dish. It really is too large for me. My fiancé had chicken fajitas. My friend’s dish was huge too. Her dish came with a bell pepper with cheese. I really can’t remember what the dish names were. What I remember was how HUGE they were. We ordered the flan and it was heavenly. If I could eat it everyday and not become diabetic that would be great. Great service and good food. You can’t go wrong coming here.

This is my first time at this establishment and I have to say I was not disappointed. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food was very good. I plan to make my way back to this restraint again.

Took my wife and her friend there for dinner. My wife ordered one thing and got another so we flagged down the waitress. She took the plate to get it corrected. In meantime a manager dropped by to apologize. But it got to be a long time before her dish was replaced so we flagged him down and he got right on it. He apologized again and took that dish off the bill. Hey, this is the kind of place that handles problems the professional way. They offered us desserts on the house but we were too full. We will be back!

Good food. A little more upscale than Mercado Juarez, etc. I liked the food, but it wasn’t «wow, I have to go back soon» good. I wouldn’t avoid the place, but it’s not high on my «go back to» list. EDIT: Y’know, the longer I’ve thought about this, I’m taking a star away. The FOOD was good and the server took good care of us. BUT!!! Having a reservation for 12 people and shoving us into a corner on three tables is at least one table TOOFEW. Following that up by WAY too little salsa. 4 serving platters with 3 small/flat«bowls»(I have shot glasses that hold more liquid!) of each of your three salsas on each platter was … silly, to say the least. The restaurant was no where CLOSE to full yet. We called well in advance and had an 11AM reservation on a Tuesday, so we were gone before your lunch rush got into full swing and it wasn’t even a busy day. So, there was no excuse for short-changing us on table space. You should’ve been better prepared to handle our group. 3 tables should’ve had EIGHT people sitting there, not TWELVE. This was an opportunity to make a good first impression on someone. You did not do that. As said before, will I avoid the place? No. Was the food«impressive» or «wow, I’ve gotta go back and try something else» awesome? No. Was the food GOOD? Yes. Did the server take good care of our group? Yes. But, I don’t plan on revisiting this place anytime soon and DEFINITELY not with a large group!

Abuelos is perfect for a family gathering. We could not decide on what to eat because we all have different tastes in my family. Abuelos not only offers traditional Mexican dishes, but other entrees such as salmon, tilapia, and steak dishes. I was impressed with my meal, and the service was on cue… great place!

What a phenomenal place! Food was top notch and the service impeccable! The salsas were too much to avoid and we were dang near full when the appetizers came around! LOL! Pace yourself cause the food portions are amazing!!!

The best cheese enchiladas in my opinion. I always have to treat my self to some of their flan as well. Hits the spot!

I’m not sure if our server was having a really bad day or what. She was one of the most blatantly rude servers I have ever had. She was slamming our plates down, muttering under her breath about us, and had a huge attitude when we asked about some missing beans. Our party of 9 had a reservation at 1 o clock on a Thursday so there was hardly anybody else in the dining room and we only, very politely, asked her for the beans. Our group couldn’t understand why she had such a terrible attitude. If she would’ve smiled once or at least pretended to remotely care about her job she would’ve gotten a much fatter tip from our party. This was my first and last time going to this abuelos. No wonder there has been a «now hiring» sign on the front of the building for months.

Abuelo’s is awesome. Their food is fresh, the hotsauce is A-1. The habanero sauce is awesome. Can’t say enough good stuff about this place.

I visited this Abuelo’s location with a friend whilst out and about around the Parks Mall in Arlington, and received exceptional service! Everything from the professionalism displayed by the staff, to the atmosphere, food, and drinks was absolutely spot on. I found this location to be head over heals above my previous experience I had with an out of town Abuelo’s, and plan on returning soon when in the area. Upon venturing inside, we were immediately greeted by an eager hostess whom escorted us to the central dining area, adorned with a large fountain and other various pleasant decorations. We waited nearly no time at all before we were greeted by our server whom took our drink orders, which arrived promptly. The wait time for both the drinks(as well as refills) and food was miniscule, and the customer service we received was exceptional. To quench my pallet, I started off with an 1800 Hand Shaken Margarita, which was served in a personalized shaker. They don’t skimp you with the beverage here, as my large shaker was able to fill the Martini glass four — five times. The margarita, although certainly not the best I’ve ever had, was on par with what a good mid-shelf level margarita should taste and cost. For my meal, I ordered Mi Abuelo’s Manjar«Three stacked enchiladas layered with beef, cheese and chile con carne, topped with two eggs.» Served with a side of Pappas and Refried Beans. I was feeling adventurous, intrigued by the prospect of enchiladas topped with eggs which I had prepared over Medium. I was honestly pleasantly surprised with how well the egg paired with the Chile sauce atop the Enchiladas, and genuinely glad I gave it a shot. The Pappas were probably the bested mashed garlic potatoes I’ve had in recent years, and the refried beans were very flavorful as well. I enjoyed everything about my recent experience with the Abuelo’s Arlington location, and recommend them for anybody in and around Arlington looking for exceptional service paired with great Mexican chow.

Being a California transplant, it’s really hard to get authentic Mexican food; however, Abuelo’s meets our standards! The hostess always seems to be in a dreary mood; however, we’ve always had excellent service by the wait staff. During our last visit, we had a coupon so I splurged and I’m so glad I did. I had the LOSMEJORESDELACASA which is Fire-grilled, bacon-wrapped beef tenderloin medallions and bacon-wrapped shrimp stuffed with fresh jalapeño and blended cheeses. This was super yummy delicious! I will be ordering again, regardless of coupon status. My husband switches between the fajita’s and a carne asada burrito, both of which he loves! I’ve tried several items on the menu, but I think I’ll be repeating the Los Mejores De La Casa for the next couple visits. I always get a margarita with silver tequila and it’s never too strong or too mild… just right! Yum — I want one now. The restaurant is clean and we love the ambiance. One of our regular favorite restaurants. We go to at least once a month — sometimes more when I get my way!

Our waiter, Dillion had a positive, upbeat attitude and made our experience even more enjoyable. He checked on our party of 8 regularly to make sure we were doing okay, our drinks stayed filled and napkins were available. The food was served promptly, nice sized portions and tasted great. Best dining experience in a while.

Had the pleasure of eating lunch here, after the rush period. Sat in the bar area, tables conveniently across from a few flat screens. There are these little machines to save time you can punch your Oder in and viola it should appear… Not at my station lol… But I’m sure they work. The bartender brought the house salsa… OMJEEZ, the pineapple salsa is bananas. I could rave for the entire day after having this spicy yet sweet salsa peppered on my tortilla chip. I didn’t care what else was on the menu because I found something that taste sooo good in the salsa. I wound up ordering a few tacos, tasty too. Manager was serving which I found odd but we talked he loves his job and it shows. I’ll definitely revisit when back in Arlington.

The spinach enchiladas are sooooo good. I love it when your food comes out piping hot like it just came out of the oven. Everything on my plate was good from the spinach enchiladas to the refried beans to the papas. Overall was a great dinner. The best part was the dessert! A must try!

I can’t believed I lived in Arlington my whole life without eating here — Abuelo’s is awesome! They have all of the usual favorites, which are delicious: tortilla soup, enchiladas, fajitas, etc. The chips and queso is one of my favorites I’ve had recently, and the margaritas are good. They also have some dressed up options for a fairly inexpensive price, like bacon wrapped steak and shrimp. It’s a huge menu and definitely worth coming back multiple times to try different things. You get the feeling that a family chef really did create it. Our server could not have been more lovely. The restaurant is large and decorated in Mexican style. Things look new and well cared for.
