The food looks better than it actually tastes :(The ingredients just don’t seem that fresh. The first night I ate here, I had a burger with a salad(they somehow ran out of regular and sweet potatos. seriously?). My salad was ridiculously over-dressed. The second night I came in, I had the smoked salmon bruschetta. My order was mistaken for the smoked salmon personal pizza. I corrected the waitress, and she got my order squared away. However, when the bill came, I was still being charged for the pizza. Had to get that corrected as well. Needless to say, I didn’t eat at Amuse for the rest of my stay at Le Meridien.

I recently had a chance to eat lunch here thanks to my dear friend who works in the area. I had cavatelli with sausage and broccoli rabe and I liked it. The side salad I had before pasta was a generous portion for a side and it was well tossed with dressing. The pasta my friend had actually tasted better than what I had. It was rigatoni with arabiata sauce with shrimp I believe. Our server was attentive and friendly. Compliment to the Chinese chef who can cook pretty good Italian pasta dishes!

Amuse in Le Meridien hotel is the most popular hang out among Deloitte staff in the Rosslyn office since it is connected and easy to walk right over. I have tried their breakfast, lunch, happy hour and dinner! Always had such excellent service since they know me by name and know exactly what I usually ordered, which was salmon with a particular salad. The staff would even remember the slight modifications I would tell them with my salad such as add beets and avocado and prepare the salmon medium rare. I scheduled many business lunches there and everyone always walked out of there very satisfied. Only recommendation would be for the restaurant to add a little more variety or options to their menu. Especially for someone like me and im sure many people who worked in neighboring offices, who frequented this joint a lot, it would be nice to try new dishes.

Came here for a lunch and the service was extremely slow. The drinks came to us 10 minutes after we sat down. The food didn’t get to us until 45 – 50 minutes later. It was overall, a terrible experience. My food was cold when it came out and cold salmon is not exactly what I was envisioning my lunch to be.

Not a good experience… So I’ve come to amuse for lunch once before and it was okay, nothing to rave out, especially for the high prices but it wasn’t bad either. This time my friend wanted to treat me for lunch so we came here since its located next to our building. The place is usually empty, so when we walked in it was quite a surprise to see so many people there. We sat down at our table around 12:20pm and didn’t end up getting our food till 1:15pm or later. My friend and I were both starving, and come to find with our luck, when the food came out it wasn’t cooked well. I ordered the shrimp rigatoni — the rigatoni was so hard; barely cooked! I told the waiter and his response was«well, what do you want me to do?» (-_-) — my face from his response. I asked if the chef could cook it more, so he took it back. But at this point it we were already at lunch for over an hour. When my dish came back, I tried it and it still wasn’t good. I had to get back to work so I got it to go in hopes that I could take it home and try to cook it/fix it. I feel like amuse is not used to a big lunch crowd and felt rushed or something. Never going back. Service and food were horrible!

3.5 stars but I’ll round up because the server was very accommodating when I had to leave early for a meeting and needed my food to-go. Otherwise pretty average food, good for a business lunch.

Amuse tries to be a high end restaurant but fails with its slow service and horrible food. I asked for a salad without goat cheese, but of course there was a huge wad of goat cheese plopped right on top. Very embarrassing if you are in a business dinner. In the end it was just a bunch of arugula and store bought dressing for $ 15. I could have gone back to their kitchen and made a much better salad. There are zero vegan options as well. I would get much better food and service at Chipotle for 1⁄10 the price. Someone needs to open up another high end restaurant in Rosslyn for business lunches. Then Amuse would either get its act together or go out of business.

Very excited about the new chef at Amuse! This restaurant has one of the best views in the city, but for so long lacked food to match. Executive Chef Tony Hang is at the helm of the kitchen now and for the first time I was really impressed with my meal. Today’s special was expertly prepared Shrimp, Salmon, Crab Cake on a bed of saffron risotto with microgreens and blistered cherry tomatoes. The service has always been exceptional so Amuse feels like a complete restaurant experience now. Can’t wait to see some more updates to the menu that has been much needed.

I had lunch here while in town for business. The food was good, nothing exceptional but a good meal. What is the reason for the 3-stars was the service at the table. They seemed to work a team of servers even though there was only one other table open(it was about 3 in the afternoon — late lunch). They served bread with only one plate of olive oil so only a few people could reach it — we had 6 total. They mixed up the drinks. The brought food to the wrong people. And they picked up plates with food left on them before asking if we were finished. The view and the atmosphere was nice but I would be a little skeptical they could handle a full restaurant when they made so many mistakes with a table of 6.

Mediocre food and worst service. Don’t waste your money here. The view is ok but trust me its not worth the money you will spend for tasteless food and bad service. The first warning sign should had been that the restaurant was empty on a Friday night.

The two stars are for the view ONLY, and of course we were able to see everything else because we were left in the dark outside. It doesn’t look like in the picture. Service… what service? I had to go ask for the waiter too many times. A restaurant in this area should be able to deal with big groups with smiles on their faces and no attitudes. Moreover, they should be able to make it easier for us, not make us do the work for them.

Worst place. Yes it has a beautiful view to Georgetown but service is horrible! We were at a birthday dinner and they just treated us with disdain. We had to ask many times for drinks and menu. Then when the bill came they told us they could only split the bill 3 ways. It was 15 of us! and that’s ok because we would have been prepared but at any time this was disclosed, and the waiter nor the manager was helpful. Then they even asked for tip! For real? There are better places around Rosslyn, and this would be a great place if management is replaced — hence the current rating it has. –___–

The service at the restaurant was beyond aggravating and the weekend hours are bizarre! When entering Amuse, there was never anyone to greet us or ask us for help. We were staying at the hotel and dined there a few times, in the hopes the next time would be better… but it wasn’t. Every time we got there there was someone hanging about just staring at us awkwardly like we shouldn’t be there… instead of asking us if we needed help or seating us. So we just sat ourselves. The one time they had heating on for some inexplicable reason even though it was really warm out… so it was a hot dinning experience. Every time we dined there the waiter made us feel like we were totally inconveniencing him and the kitchen staff by placing orders. We had to ask every time for a spoon for our coffees or yogurts or desserts, as if it was surprising we would need one at all. The order was always missing something, and we could hear the kitchen staff complaining about any adjustments we made in our order. And the fact that they are not open for dinner on the weekend is just stupid. Overall, the food was decent, nothing special… but definitely not worth the aggravating experience of dining there.

Closed for dinner on Saturdays? Final Four wknd, Cherry Blossom Festival, no decent competition in Rosslyn and you are closed for dinner??!

My sweet boyfriend brought me here for my birthday celebration. The food was good, customer service was good, and the interior was nice. A classy/chill/low key feel. We sat by a huge open window overlooking the city, but we actually couldn’t see much of the cityscape. And this was at night. Located very close to the Rosslyn metro station and a lot of people coming in/out for happy hour. I started off with their jumbo shrimp, a glass of merlot, cavatelli for my main entrée, and was later surprised with a personalized birthday dessert! Everything was delicious and I enjoyed my visit.

Happy hour can be a good deal — if you like what the special is that night(wine one night, $ 5 margs another night, etc). Service is good however, and the inside hotel area is really nice. The winning aspect is the patio deck! Perfect for perfect weather :)

I was here for a business lunch so I was excited that I was getting a free meal. The place seems nice and was quite beautiful inside. Definitely a lot more fancy than the restaurants that I usually go to. We got the smoked salmon flatbread as an appetizer and I got a sausage pasta for my entrée. The salmon flatbread was awesome. I am a huge fan of smoked salmon and I think they did a fine job with it. It was pretty easy to make: cream cheese spread, capers, dills, and smoked salmon over some flatbread; hard to mess up. The pasta sounded a lot better than it tasted. It was a little sour which I didn’t like. The dish had no sauce what so ever so it was really, really dry. The pasta itself wasn’t al-dente which was kinda lame. The service was great. We had an older man serving us and he was extremely attentive and friendly. I enjoyed my time there and it was fun. It is however, quite pricey and something that I didn’t expect. Overall, it was a decent experience. The food is okay but the view is quite gorgeous.

Salmon flatbread — generous toppings of salmon. Too many capers in my opinion(capers tend to oversalt many dishes). Truffle fries — typical serving of skinny fries with ketchup and mustard. Nothing to write home about. Olive oil cake with crème fraîche gelato — this was the best part of the meal. The sweet tartness of the berries combined with the cool gelato and firm cake made each bite an experience in deliciousness. Sidenote — restaurant is closed for dinner on the weekend but the bar serves basically everything but proper dinner entrees. Verdict — as far as hotel bars go, this is pretty nice but don’t get your hopes up about the food.

The executive director of my department invited myself and few of us newer associates to lunch here for a belated welcome. I was really looking forward to it as I have only interacted with her indirectly in our larger operations meetings. There were ten of us including her, nine of us being associates and eight of those being women. The restaurant is located on the 4th floor of the Le Meridien Hotel in Arlington overlooking the Potomac River. There are clear glass windows spanning from the ceiling to close to the floor offering a panoramic view of Georgetown. Our group was seated in a little slightly more private space within the modern dining room but still somewhat amongst the other diners. The menu is an inspiration from both French and Italian cuisine with locally sourced ingredients and served on beautifully crisp white serving dishes. Everybody was able to find something they liked with ease(that is if you take out that it all looked good). I opted for the spinach salad, which came with roasted beets, goat cheese, and I added grilled chicken. Everything was fine minus that I had to wait about 5−7(ish) minutes for my salad dressing to come out. Ate some of a colleagues sweet potato fries in the meantime. =] The timing of the whole meal was just right: from an introduction and taking orders to delivering our food and clearing our places. What I enjoyed about the restaurant is its«simple elegance.» I can see now why it’s a popular spot for business lunches. It offers something special but without the fuss and snootiness. The restaurant and lobby has beautiful décor but while still open and welcoming.
