I have lived in Arlington Oaks since 2000. I think ones experience can vary based on who your neighbors are-just like anywhere. We have great neighbors and we love living here. We love the large open green spaces. We like being able to walk to Ballston. We’re near Metro and multiple bus lines. Or hop in your car and go anywhere. Depending on the day and time we can drive to downtown DC in 10 – 15 mins. There used to be some isolated, seasonal parking issues but those seem to have stopped. We have a bikeshare station on our corner now. We really like it.

I was shocked to see the previous review of Arlington Oaks, since we have been living there for years and really like it. We have never heard of any«attempted murders» — I wonder where that came from? In fact, it is a great community to live in and the management staff are always very friendly and responsive to any concerns. Here is my response to the issues the last reviewer brought up: 1. Neighborhood: The neighborhood is safe and we have never had any issues. For the money, this place is a great deal in Ballston — it avoids the higher charges that come with a high rise, and offers a peaceful park setting. Two metro stations are nearby, and you can drive to DC in 15 minutes! Our neighbors are friendly and always courteous to others. 2. Dogs: Arlington Oaks also doesn’t accept all types of dogs. We don’t have one, but we never heard dog barking in our building, either. If the previous reviewer is bothered by dogs, he should really have called the condo association. 3: Door slamming: This is simply not an issue. If you are bothered by door closing(like the previous reviewer said) — you should call the condo office or simply put on some rubber or felt materials on it to dumb the sound. Just common sense! 4. Pests: This has never been an issue for us, and the management office does regular pest control. 5. Trash: The trash service is good and there has never been any issue in this regard. Just go take a look at the trash bins in the complex and you will know. 6: Amenities: All condo associations vary in the types of amenities. Arlington oaks does offer a gym, there is also a community garden, extra storage available if you need it, and they really keep care of the grounds. 7. Parking: There is ample parking and Arlington Oaks give you two parking passes upon moving in. Overall, I would definitely recommend Arlington Oaks. Even the previous poster agrees that«Arlington Oaks is in a great location and has such a bucolic natural landscape going for it!»
