ArtBeat is a small but lovely art store geared primarily toward kids and teens, although I found plenty of interesting things there too and I’m a bonified grown up. The stock is on the light side, but offers many interesting kits for do-at-home-projects. Not the kind of kits you find at target or Michaels, instead unusual things. I really like the choices, and bought a gift there yesterday for my niece — a book on creating your own family tree and a kit for a window mosaic made up of little gel squares so it looks like stained glass when you’re done. There is not a lage selection of raw materials, however. If I were in need of paint, paper etc., I could get it here, but would probably go to a different store that would offer more selection and a little bit better value. The real heart of the store is the studio where you can at any time drop in and do one of several(maybe 6 – 8) projects using raw material they have available in store. They do groups too, so you could come with friends or do a child’s party here. Cozy and inspiring, a good little shop!
