Artistic Drywall Textures

After more than three years of intensive remodeling on our house (while living in it), it was time for drywall. My husband is good at everything construction except that. We got several bids for the work, but the moment Steve, their bidder, from Artistic Drywall walked in and started to take measurements, my husband was sold. He was a contractors contractor. They gave us a bid, not the lowest, but fair.
Of course it took way longer to get ready than we had planned, but 5 months later there was no question as to the bid. The office staff was easy to deal with and more than willing to answer all of my «stupid» questions. The sheet rock team showed up on time, worked all day, followed the original bid for some different little things, and finished that evening. We were extremely pleased with their work, not a thing needed to be changed or fixed.
The next morning Romero showed up to tape and mud. He was great to have around, worked like a maniac and came back each morning to work again. This was the tedious part for me. I was ready to start painting as soon as the sheet rock was hung, but of course the drying part takes the time it takes. Finally it was all perfect according to Romero’s standards.
The first day possible when the mud was dry, the priming team showed up, carefully masked the windows, doors, floors, outlets and fans, etc. sprayed and wrapped it up and left. The next day Romero showed up again to check any places he may have missed and put on a little more mud in the places he deemed not perfect and was gone.
I have personally painted every wall in this place and found nothing that was less than great. I would recommend this company anytime.

As a contractor of over 30 years this has to be one of the worst drywall companies out there.
I was doing a full rebuild on a house from a flood and hired in Artistic Drywall to hang around 2800 sq ft of drywall including repairing a 2ft flood cut upstairs. For starters when they delivered the Sheetrock they drove through and wrecked a neighbors yard which I had to fix and they also destroyed a screen on a window getting Sheetrock into the house. The window sills were BAD. All very uneven. Whenever we called this company out on anything their excuse was always the framing which as a contractor I know to be untrue. Had to call back numerous times to get someone out to fix it and once they finally sent someone out, he barely spoke English and said he could not fix the window sills because he didn’t know how!!! WHAT? You’re a drywall finisher and you can’t repair drywall? Long story short, after many many days of fixing their crap work and pushing all my other subs out costing me lots of money they have the nerve to jack my bill way up and charge me more and put s lien on the house 1 month after they got kicked off the job!!! The sales man the whole time was reassuring me they’d be greatly discounting my bill from everything. The lady in the office Terri is an absolute nightmare. One of the rudest people I have ever met. Will be taking legal action against this awful company. BEWARE!!!

Great on every front. They were able to send me a prompt bid at a good price and start the job quite quickly. They did a great job with my drywall repairs (from flood damage), worked quickly, and the people doing the work were very nice, friendly people. They took more care than I usually see to protect my carpet and other materials that were not getting work. There were a few loose ends to clean up (as there always are), but they were very responsive and helpful to make any necessary fixes super quickly. Very good experience overall.

Rule of thumb is never go with the cheapest bid and there is a reason why, it’s called Artistic Drywall. I actually used these guys on two different projects. The first project was drywall repair through several rooms of a house. The guy they sent out was a «new hire» and I’m so glad they used my house to test out his skills. The guy spent more time talking then actually working and when he was supposedly done the end result was nowhere near perfection. Chris did come out and spent another day fixing the previous workers mistakes.
Stupidly I picked them for another much larger project, hanging and finishing drywall in a 988 sq. ft. apartment. Once they started the project I had to call no less than 7 times to inquire where the workers were right in the middle of the job. Their excuse was either they were just so busy or «he’s not there?» There again the finished project was left unsatisfactory. They didn’t clean the dust off the walls before spraying PVA which left a very rough texture on what was supposed to be smooth walls, they hung drywall over one of my air vents, they sprayed over all my light bulbs and light switches because they didn’t properly prep and they left several areas of pock holes for me to fix. In total I had to spend no less than two days fixing their drywall issues myself. Granted I’m not the fastest drywaller but I know what it takes to do a proper job.
In my view the reason Artistic Drywall can do a project for less is they hire out all sub-​contractors and they just act as the general contractor which is fine in most situations but if the general contractor never sets foot on the project then there is no accountability for what the sub-​contractors are doing. Therefore their sub-​contractors are taking advantage of them and in turn they turn out a poor product. I would advise to spend a little more and hire a more professional outfit for your drywall needs.
