I purchased 2 cabinets from IKEA, fully intending to assemble them, as I always have for our DIY furniture, bookcases, etc. There were also 5 drawers, kick panel, decorative panels, doors, handles, etc. Usually, I just tough it out and load the stuff and carry it home. But, getting smarter in my old age, I opted this time for IKEA to deliver. As a result, I had no idea how much «stuff» there was for two cabinets, 1– 30″ and 1– 24″. WOW, 20 — 30 boxes of varying sizes plus a 2′ x 3′ tote full of miscellaneous stuff. WOW, 2 — 300 pounds of frustration; I knew that I was no match for this project!
So, since IKEA had offered «setup» at purchase, I called them. After 20 — 30 minutes of runaround, I was told that «setup» was not possible after the sale. Now what? Google, of course, and I’ll save you the effort…
AssemblyWorx, and, specifically, Tony, was helpful from the first contact and even better in person! A quick quote based on my IKEA invoice, appointment time and he showed up as scheduled! A little less than 4 hours later our cabinets were installed, anchored to the wall and looked and worked great! The work area was neat and clean and I had saved myself two or three days of major frustration.
Katie B., above, said it best: «affordable, responsive, reliable, professional.» And, I would add to that: comfortable to have in your home. There is no need to beat yourself to death with the frustration of building IKEA (or, any other) projects — let Tony do it!

Tony is wonderful! I hired him to assemble quite a bit of Ikea furniture and he even agreed to hang a curtain and curtain rod for me too. He’s professional responsive and flexible with scheduling, which was essential for someone like me who works full-​time. He was also cheaper than some of the Ikea recommended assemblers.

Sub-​category should be furniture assembly (for me Ikea furniture) but this wasn’t given as an option so I just put it under «handyman». The best characteristics I would use to describe the service: affordable, responsive, reliable, professional. The only bad thing I have to say about Assembly Worx is that they weren’t already posted on Unilocal,this I can’t believe. I believe I had initially googled «Ikea Furniture Assembly» and found them, I had several pieces of Ikea furniture (table, chairs, couch, tv stand, dressers) and there was basically no way I was going to assemble everything myself. Tony was SUPER responsive, as opposed to the official 3^rd party Ikea contractor who took days to respond to my initial inquiry. I was a bit timid as Assembly Worx wasn’t the approved but figured for the price I couldn’t go wrong, I was sure they would do a better, quicker job than I could plus had guaranteed if anything went wrong in 90 days they would come back out (that didn’t void the Ikea warranty). The assembly took under an hour, was really professional and he helped explain all the tidbits that I should be aware of when taking care of the furniture. I mean honestly, I still can’t believe no one has written about this before… I was not impressed with Ikea and their slow service and delivery of the furniture and so can’t thank you (tony) enough for helping make the rest of the job a breeze.
