Filipino breakfast is delicious, I wish this was the typical breakfast! A sweet glaze on the chicken with 2 fried eggs over garlic rice and a side of sauce. Amazing. My husband loves it and got his with chicken and beef. Both times we traveled to DC we made a point to stop here.

I was excited that I was near a Filipino restaurant! Unilocal helped me to find this quaint restaurant. So I had to try it out! The entrance had a big Christmas tree with outdoor seatings. Inside had plenty of seatings and was clean and even the décor was surprisingly nice! It was just one other couple in the restaurant when we walked in about 6:00pm so, we were able to get seated and waiter came for our order pretty quickly. Only 20 mins after we arrived, the restaurant got pretty packed! And that’s when it all went down hill! It took forever to get our food, our waiter didn’t check on us or refilled our drinks. It was just 1 waiter out of the whole restaurant. That is just ridiculous! Finally! Our food came and it looked and smelled so good. One bite of my Pinakbet and I didn’t like it. I am Filipino who cooks and eat and breathe the Filipino dishes. But this one caught me off guard because the«sabaw»(the sauce) used is anchovies paste vs shrimp paste. And for me I just didn’t like it the anchovies taste. My hubby’s meal was good though. He always stick to the basics when we eat at Asian restaurants — bbq chicken with garlic rice. Nice grilled flavorful chicken and garlic rice that wasn’t too garlicky but seasoned well was a winner! I also tried the Turon(banana lumpia) and that was good too. It had Langka(jackfruit) which gave each bite a sweet treat. I can appreciate the artistry of the dishes because it wasn’t something that was just slapped on a plate. But they have to do better with the service!

I really enjoyed this restaurant a lot! It wasn’t crowded when we visited, and the staff was smiley and warm. I ordered ‘lumpia’ as a starter and then ‘dinuguan’ as entrée. My fellow Filipino friends ordered ‘bistek’(beefsteak) and I think we had the usual ‘lechon kawali’ as a side dish(you can never have«too much meat» when it comes to Filipino food). The dinuguan was interesting; it was most likely the prettiest I’ve seen this dish presented in my entire life! And it’s challenging to make this«chocolate meat» attractive to the uninitiated, so props for that! I won’t say it tasted authentic though, but it most likely suits the American taste. Lastly, their ‘buko pandan’(not sure if it is really buko pandan, but just ask for their coconut dessert with condensed milk) is HEAVENLY!!! I’ve not tasted this dessert in a long time but this was really well done – the best I’ve tasted outside of the PH. My friend and I couldn’t stop raving about it being soooooo good. Try it!!!

Filipino food is(finally) becoming trendy in the DMV and amongst foodies. As a Filipina, I’ve been hoping our amazing food would catch on. Now the DMV has many options to explore Filipino food including Bistro 7107. Bistro 7107 is located in a mini restaurant row in Crystal City. It’s a cozy restaurant where the artwork and furniture reflect the food and culture of the Philippines. We made reservations-highly recommend since there is limited seating. It was also busy when we went. Our server greeted us immediately and brought out our menus and waters. This is what we ordered: Lumpia Shanghai, Calamares(squid), Krispy Pata(fried pig), Pancit Bihon(lumpia) pork and chicken BBQ, Eggplant with crab, and Bikol express(pork belly with vegetables). There was also plenty of rice. It’s a lot of food but it’s served family style and the portions are not too big. The food came out soon after we ordered. Everything we had was delicious, flavorful, and reminded me of true Filipino food. The chef did a good job of staying true to the flavors and food while making Filipino food accessible to the masses and those less familiar with the cuisine. My favorites were the pancit, lumpia, krispy pata, and bikol express. I love krispy pata in general and any time I can get some crispy pig, I’ll take the opportunity. We also ordered dessert– sans srival(a nut cake), ube, leche flan, and cassava– these are some of the traditional Filipino desserts. The desserts were good, not overly sweet, which is good especially for the sans srival which is a decadent cake. Service was very good throughout our meal. Staff was friendly and checked on us throughout their meal. Note– they do not have alcoholic drinks yet but I am told they are working on getting their license. Overall a good place to try authentic Filipino food.

After seeing one of my friend’s instagram posts about this place, I had to try it. My first impression of this place, «so dark and a struggle to find» but then when we finally found it, I found it quite nice. My friend took me here because we’ve always shared in common our love for Filipino food. Usually we frequent places like Manila Café in Springfield or Kababayan in Woodbridge if we are craving. Although when we decided to come here, we wanted a fine dining kind of experience and our expectations were definitely met. First when you enter, the lighting is dim but the interior is nice, there are booths and tables lined up all the way into the kitchen. The restaurant is not huge but a decent size. It’s a good place for dinner or a date. We were seated at a booth and given menus. The menu was straightforward and not too overwhelming. My friend and I decided to get some dishes to share together. We ordered the sinigang, the pinoy curry, and the sisig. I have to say… the sisig was the best!!! It was like amazinggg~ I’d never tasted it done so well. It was an explosion of taste, and I would have reacted just like how the characters react(if you watch Animé) in Food Wars. The other dishes were alright, had a good taste but we the sisig was definitely the best decision we made. I like how flavorful it was in addition with the sauce and the visual presentation was on point. Everything about visual presentation was on point actually, because their silverware and bowls and dishes looked clean, nice and classy. I had a really great first experience. The food was great and I definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys Filipino food. Service was good, well, it should have been since we were the only two in the restaurant at the time. Our server was quick and always refilled our water and checked on us. I like that the portions are huge, we had to get doggy bags. Will definitely be back to try other dishes :)

Authentic Filipino food with generous portions and wonderful staff. The crispy pata, Lechon kawali, leche flan, Binagoongan, mongo etc was super yummy! Best Filipino food in the state for sure! Highly recommended!

Very disappointed with the food. I ordered a chicken curry dish where the sauce was lukewarm at best. I sent it back. The chicken was hotter; the sauce was not. It was clear at this point that the dish wasn’t made to order. Also, it was served in a shallow plate, so there wasn’t much sauce at all. The person with whom I dined ordered the pig leg. It was mostly fat and tendons. Another disappointing dish. In short, we won’t be back.

I’m giving 3 rather than 2 stars because the service was attentive and friendly. For an appetizer, I tried the lumpia and it was just ok. Nothing special. For the main dish, I ordered the pansit and a friend ordered the pork belly while a third ordered noodles that looked like pansit but came with mushrooms but no cabbage. I was completely underwhelmed by my selection but the others seem to enjoy theirs. I think I ordered the wrong dish. Next time I will take the waiter’s recommendation,

The food is good but over priced and of course that is due to the location. Friendly staff and fast service.

Probably one of the best Filipino restaurants I’ve been to in a while. I loved everything about it. My brother and his wife found this place and took me and my wife there for dinner on a Saturday night. There is outside seating and the weather was perfect. The service was a bit confusing because we had two to three servers coming to us. They do take reservations so that’s a plus. We had a reservation and requested to be moved and they accommodated to us which was awesome. For the food, we ordered a lot of pork. My wife got the sinigang dish and it was slightly disappointment. We normally like our sinigang to be a bit more sour, so it was missing taste. The lumpia and lechon was on point. Loved the halo halo at the end as well as the flan and ube ice cream. The restaurant got super busy as the night progressed. I would definitely be back. The prices weren’t too expensive either. The serving is large for the price. Again, loved this place.

This is the only«fine dine» Filipino restaurant in the area so I had nothing to compare to. Great service. Food is a hit or miss except for the best halo-halo in the area. A little pricey although I understand because they are located in Crystal City. I’d like to see this place to stay so they need to add a little spice to the restaurant to make it more appealing to other ethnicity.

ANGSARAPKUMAINDITO! For everyone else, if you’re looking for an authentic filipino restaurant this is one of the best place to go when you’re in the DC area. Delicious food paired with warm friendly service there’s no way you can go wrong with this place. Thank you Bistro 7107!

I notice many Filipinos rating this place low on the grounds that they are Filipino. Seriously? You’re using your mom’s cooking as a standard? There are 81 different provinces in the Philippines with different styles of cooking and preferences. So here’s a newsflash. Your mother’s cooking isn’t the only way to cook a Filipino dish. Disregard any reviews starting with, «I am Filipino» or «I am part Filipino» as they are judging the food on a scale with their MOMs cooking as the golden standard. On that note, their sisig is off the chain. None of the pork belly sisig nonsense. They legit use pig ears in this dish. YES, YES and YES. Their menu changed from last year and quality seems to have declined a bit(last year I would have rated it a 5) but it’s still a fairly decent Filipino restaurant. The restaurant serves your traditional Filipino fare as well as American influenced dishes. Longonisa burgers anyone? They also serve breakfast! It seems they have extended their dessert menu with buko pandan, halo halo and ginataan as well. I suspect that is the reason their quality has gone down. Instead of focusing on the taste of few dishes they’ve expanded and rush cook orders. Like other reviews have mentioned, some of their dishes taste like they poured the sauce over the meat(Kare Kare and bicol express). The beauty of these dishes is the taste of all the simple ingredients melded together. But since they seem precook their meat, their saucy dishes seem to fall flat. Oh yeah. I’m Filipina.

I’ve been here a couple of times and am finally ready to write a review. For a filipino restaurant in the DMV area this place is a solid 4, but if this were somewhere with a higher filipino population, say, LA or San Francisco, it would dwindle. It is also upped by the fact that it is metro accessible. I’m half filipina and lived in Manila for 10 years so feel like I know good filipino food when I eat it. Bistro 7107 has some good dishes that stand out: ukoy, crispy pata and the lumpia are all good and taste like something your Lola would make. The sisig was OK, kare-kare OK, halo-halo sub par. This place really hits the spot when you’re craving filipino food but don’t have the means to get out to some of the better spots in Maryland. I’ll be back!

Where do I begin? We were a group of 13. We ordered family style. Bottom line, this place tried too hard but didn’t hit the mark. Are they going for an upscale Filipino restaurant or serving comfort food? It seemed like they focused more on presentation rather than taste. And honestly with all the eye rolling from multiple servers… It’s should be a 1. The 2 is generous. 1) when I eat my appetizers, I’d like a clean plate afterwords to eat my main dish. 2) Clearly, if we are ordering family style and have 8 dishes sent to our table… I would think you would give us serving spoons instead of having us ask repeatedly. 3) is the temperature set at 80 to give us an island feel? 4) this is not California… Don’t make us keep asking for water. Food wise, the calamari was tasty and the egg rolls were solid. The Kare Kare was not tender and tasted like they just poured the sauce over the meat. On a positive note, we did like the egg plant and Bok Choy on the side. Maybe it should be renamed Kare Kare Deconstructed? The fried rice… We ordered all 3 versions were solid, for Filipino style fried rice. Our group was satisfied with the pancit Bihon, as for the pancit Palabok we all had mixed reviews with… Maybe it was the texture of the noodles? The Tortang Talong(egg plant) was disappointing, unless you were looking for an egg plant omelette? The chicken adobo was good but small portion for the price, 12.00(1 leg, 1 thigh) seriously? Dessert wise the leche flan was good, perfect texture and the Turon was delicious! We may give this place another chance if we have out of town guests come but for now… Were open to other local options…

We discovered the bistro by a word-of-mouth recommendation via a friend of a friend. They told us the crispy pata and kare kare are very good. They were correct. We ordered crispy pata, kare kare, garlic rice, binagoongan rice, pancit palabok and ukoy. All the dishes were delicious. However, I want to single out their kare kare — specifically for their bagoong. They make their own bagoong and it’s some of the best I’ve ever had. IMO, you can’t have good kare kare without good bagoong. Well done!

It’s hard to find sisig around here so I was so happy to finally try this place. I wish the sisig came with a sunnyside egg though. Great nonetheless. The kare kare was awesome as well. I probably shouldn’t have ordered the Bicol Express since I’m not a big fan of coconut milk, but it was still pretty good. The sans rival was great. It’s more like a wafer cookie even though it looks similar to a cake. I loved it but my friends, who aren’t big on sweets to begin with, found it too sweet to eat more than one bite. I can’t wait to go back again and again to try the rest of their menu.

I was pretty excited to FINALLY try some Filipino food, but boy was I disappointed with the food that came out. It also took soooo long for the food to actually come out that I wanted to leave with my group, but we reluctantly stayed since we put so much time into waiting already. Ok…so we ordered 2 orders of the lumpia and a big tray that included different meats/veggies. Out of the dinner the lumpia was the best part. The outside was flaky/crunchy and the dipping sauce was legit. But that’s it. I do blame my self for not getting the adobo, but being so hungry and being there with 3 other ppl I thought ordering that big tray would’ve hit the spot. I will definitely give it another try and order some other dishes.

One really good sisig. Everything else was meh. The pancit was a little bland, the Bicol express was solid, the lumpia good, the sinigang was bland, using lemon instead of tamarind and frozen shrimp. Don’t order the seafood trio app, it’s three bites. Lastly the halo halo was also disappointing: it’s supposed to be very sweet and came off as bland. Worst of all the service was extremely slow, we had to ask multiple times for water, silverware, rice, boxes and the check. Let’s sum this up: we won’t be going out of our way to come back. If we’re in the neighborhood, if everywhere else was busy maybe. Not worth the price.

A nice addition to the 23rd Street restaurant block, although it suffers from lack of staff and being a touch overpriced. Stopped by here at the most random of times, 2:00 pm on a Monday. Walking in you’ll notice the new, vibrant décor and bold colors… as well as the fact that there was nobody in the restaurant, customers or servers. It was a Monday afternoon, so we cut them some slack and sat down. We waited for a good 10 minutes until a very surprised waiter came out. After that initial experience, the rest of the time was very pleasant. The waiter was very attentive and made several recommendations on the menu. I ordered the Chicken Barbecue($ 12) and my girlfriend ordered the Adobo Chicken($ 12). The Barbecue Chicken was a simple dish of cut chicken in a soy brown sugar sauce with a side of garlic rice. The chicken was cooked very well, crispy and tender, and the sauce was tangy(the closest comparison I can make is like a better A-1 steak sauce). The garlic rice was one of the best parts — rice was looked light and fluffy and the garlic seasoning was delicious. The Adobo Chicken is chicken in a gravy/soy-vin sauce. My girlfriend really liked it — the juicy chicken fell off the bone. We also ordered the Kalamansi Juice($ 3), which was a very sweet fruity drink(would go great with vodka) that tasted a lot better than anything you buy at the store. Overall, it was a great meal. The serving sizes aren’t massive, but we left the restaurant satisfied. I plan on coming back to try some more Filipino fare in the near future.
