Highly recommend for ALL gun owners!
Just finished 4 hour Utah CCW course. Learned and refreshed a lot of good information. Course is jam packed with great knowledge and information for anyone owning a gun, much less preparing an individual for concealed carry.
Mark Briley obviously is passionate about what he does, class moves quickly and does not feel like a lecture. Very interactive and gives you what you need to secure either the VA permit if your in need of that or your Utah as advertised and makes it easy if you already possess a VA permit.
Will likely take next step in doing some training with these guys. They seem to care as much about proper training and not just teaching you basic law or «pushing through» the course. From fundamentals to advance techniques, Mark and his team are focused on the «big picture» and want you to not just learn safety, but improve efficiency all while keeping you out of trouble as well.

I’m leaving this review for two things. The conceal carry class & the 1-​on-​1 instruction with Mark.
First, the class was very informative and Mark is very animated and keeps you engaged. The 4 hours goes by very quickly and I left feeling like it was very worth the money with the knowledge I gained. They also provide you with all the necessary items and instructions to apply for the VA and UT permits. Absolutely recommend this class.
Second, the instruction with Mark was worth every penny! I’m a first time gun owner and only shot about 150 rounds prior to the lesson. From 7 yards on my own, I would spray all over the place. Mark was awesome in explaining the fundamentals — grip, stance, trigger control, where to focus eyesight, etc. Within 20 minutes I was hitting bullseye. He had me shoot left handed (I’m right handed) and one handed with both hands. By the end of the lesson, I hit a 1.5″ bullseye on my first ever shot using just my left hand. Incredible! Will definitely be scheduling for more advanced lessons! I recommend this to anyone who is a first time owner or if you want to improve your shooting skills.

I took a class with Capital Defense Instruction yesterday and it was fantastic. Mark did a tremendous job covering the material while still keeping the class fun and interesting. I would highly recommend using CDI for all your training needs.

Capital Defense Instruction is a great place to go for any of your fire arm permit classes, safety classes and/​or training. The instructors are extremely knowledgable and engaging. I would highly reccomend them to anyone looking for an NRA approved group.

Took the Utah/​Virginia conceal and carry class with Mark. Great instructor and made it clear and easy to apply for our permits after the class. Totally worth the $$ over the cheap Stuff online.

I completed the CCP Safety course, and found the class extremely informative, and the instructor was professional, informative and helpful. I would recommend this course or any other course that the company offers to anyone in the Northern Virginia/​DC/​Maryland area. Thank you Mark!

We took their class this last week and were extremely impressed with their knowledge and professionalism. Very nice and the day went by very fast! I would recommend this class to anyone, including non gun fans. I am anti gun but I am pro safety and home protection! Sadly, we all need to take care of ourselves as the bad guys outnumber the good ones!

We came for a bachelorette party and had a wonderful experience. Mark and Jody were patient, thoughtful and made sure we both learned and had a great time. It was worth every penny.
