Very nice place to have lunch at. We were 5 and ate a lot for not much. I’d highly recommend it. The waitress is very kind.

I had what I would describe as solid Cantonese for dinner tonight. Restaurant was very quiet inside, doing a brisk carry-out business though. Fair value, dinner entrée with egg drop soup and a Tsingtao was $ 23. If you are staying at the Hilton Crystal City it is a very short walk. I would envision this place hops for lunch with all the office traffic in the area.

The food was decent but the service was awful. We had a waitress who could not speak enough English to even take our order. She had to run to the manager several times to ask what ahword mean. Like Sriracha. My wife ordered green beans but she got Mongolian Beef. The food was fine. Fresh and tasty. Service? Terrible.

Lunch buffet is so cheap … nothing special but I do love some hot buffet menu. Disappointed with mogolian grill

Had lunch here with my husband. We used to order delivery from another of their locations before we moved out of range. The Mongolian Grill looked well run, but in general that format is a turn-off for me so I skipped it, opting for the hot buffet instead. In general the buffet was good-I tried a little bit of everything. None of the dishes stood out as being special, but everything was hot, tasty and«as expected». Most fried items were a bit too oily, and most of the sauces were too thick. Savory items were all too salty, most sweet sauces were too sweet. Not much subtlty in flavors, but that’s hard to achieve on buffet service. So all in all I’d say it’s a safe choice for a weekday lunch, especially if you are with a large crowd and need the time-saving of the self-service buffet format.

Came here with coworkers for lunch. We all had the Mongolian grill meats and vegetables as well as the buffet items. Long story short, I got sick with mild food poisoning, so did several other coworkers. It ranged from upset stomachs to mild food poisoning. Anyway, I will not be coming here again.

Excellent Customer Service — I was welcomed by a warm, welcoming, and friendly voice when I called to place my delivery order on Friday night, so I am bummed to only give 2 stars for the food quality. Delivery Time — Arrived exactly within the range I was given. Food Quality — I ordered Hot & Sour Soup, Sesame Chicken, and Pan Fried Noodles with Vegetables. The Hot & Sour Soup tasted a bit BBQ-y, and definitely wasn’t the best I’ve ever had. This was my first time having Pan Fried Noodles, so I really can’t comment, though the vegetables did seem«fresh, not frozen,» as their marketing materials advertise on their menu. However, the Sesame Chicken(which I realize is an Americanized dish anyway) was terrible — absolutely inedible. I had a couple bites in a valiant attempt, yet ended up throwing out the entire dish, because the bits of chicken tasted and looked like glorified chicken nuggets. Yes, really.

People of the DC area, don’t neglect this place. After moving far away, I miss it and no Chinese place seems capable of taking it’s place. It’s not perfect or super authentic, but the General Tso’s is really really good, and that is plenty to keep it in a good carry-out rotation.

I live in Mt. Rainier, MD and whenever I want Chinese food this is where I go. The Sesame Chicken and The Crispy Skin Shrimp Rolls are dope. The fasr service and clean environment make this one of my favorite places to dine.

Fast delivery, very sweet customer service, and the best darn crab rangoons ever. Well, if you are not a crab fan – they’re super cream cheesy. Seriously. I’m so sorry diet gods. I know I’m supposed to be eating healthy, but hot damn they’re delicious. The General Tso’s chicken is not too spicy, but just spicy enough. This is my go to when I need good food. I’ve gotten take out, delivery, and even sat in. I want to marry Charlie Chiang’s.

I will not be returning… half of my step dad’s order was cold and the other half was lukewarm, the staff was pretty inattentive, and they messed my order up multiple times This was on 11/08/2014

Pretty good Chinese food in an old school kind of atmosphere. Dumplings, hot and sour soup, mu shu pork and beef with mixed vegetables were all at or above standard. Ingredients used here are far superior to the usual greasy take out joints but prices are somewhat high, though not outrageous. Service was friendly and efficient. We waddled out happy. No complaints here.

The place has a nice little Mongolian grill style table that you build your own bowl of stuff and have them cook it. The food comes out average tasting, not amazing and not displeasing. A happy medium for a quick lunch on a work day. The service is quick, buffet is okay(not much variety) but the food tastes like the average Chinese buffet. The restaurant is clean.

Found a cockroach in the broccoli @ the Mongolian BBQ station. Do I need to say anymore? I brought it to the attention of the«manager»(I think he must be the owner’s son, there is no other explanation for hiring someone so incompetent). No apology, no explanation, he just ordered the cook to remove the roach. No doubt the broccoli returned to the BBQ station 30 mins later.

I would only recommend Charlie Chang for lunch buffet only. The place is clean and the food taste is ok. Nothing extradionarly good but enough to get you by if your looking to have a buffet of cheap chinese and mongolian BBQ. I am okay with this place.

Charlie Chang is cheaper than take-out. For a buffet, I would say it is rather clean. The food was hot and tasted fresh. I did not eat anything that gave me the impression that this food has been sitting out for a while. I usually do not like buffets but I am okay with this place. And while I am ashamed to say it, I had three of their crab wantons. They were so good. I loved their mushrooms too. Next time I am craving Chinese food, I will definitely come here. $ 9.95 for their buffet lunch special. Do not mind if I do!

Man, I’ve been eating a lot of junk food lately based on my Unilocal reviews. My stomach is probably wondering what it has done wrong to deserve this. Anyway… Best Chinese fast food buffet in the area! I’m glad they only have the lunch buffet during the week otherwise I’d be here all the time since I live nearby. I didn’t try the grill or order from the menu, but the hot buffet was perfect. The chicken was mostly big pieces of white meat, and the spring rolls and crab rangoons were on point. Yeah, my stomach hurt after I was done disgracing myself here but I’d expect nothing less. This is definitely my new neighborhood go-to spot for takeout next time I’m craving some greasy delights.

I have eaten here in person thrice and had delivery several times as well. My favorite item on the menu is probably the TaiPei dumplings. The dough is very fresh and homemade and the filling is savory and delicious. I can’t recommend the Spicy Tangy Dumplings — they were essentially the Red Oil Dumplings with peanut butter mixed into the sauce and they weren’t particularly good. All of the crispy/fried-type items(General Tso, Crispy Beef, Orange Chicken, etc,) are made with quality cuts of meat and the fry batter isn’t overwhelming. There’s just enough to have a good coating but it’s not caked on like I’ve seen at other places. The service is usually attentive and the portions are very generous. For neighborhood Chinese cuisine, this is a good stop. Highly recommended.

We come here a lot for lunch during work and I really enjoy the mongolian grill that is part of the buffet. You get to pick your veggies, meats, and sauces and they grill it right in front of you… a definite step up from your typical chinese buffet. They also have $ 2 beer at happy hour. Every time we come after work for a drink, we are the only ones at the bar, which is nice.

AMAZING! I was looking for a quick stop for a quick meal. My phone battery was running low so I couldn’t really browse through Unilocal for help. I started walking around the area and was interested in a few places. However, other restaurants nearby appeared more formal and wasn’t really what I was looking for. I saw this place offering good happy hour food and decided to give it a try. I walked in and it was pretty empty given this restaurant was big. You can see the salad bar where you can buy salad based on per pound price. Around $ 5 – 6 per pound I think. I asked about happy hour and they directed me to sit in the bar area. They don’t have an extensive happy hour menu but enough to sample around. No drink minimum purchase required. They also offer a good selection of soup(in a small bowl) for $ 2 on the regular menu. Other rice dishes are around $ 13-$ 15. Note their lunch buffet isn’t all you can eat, it is sold by weight as well. I sampled around and was pretty happy with the food. Although I have to say the chicken skewers were very, very differentl from the west coast. The sauce was pretty unique. It was good and delicious, nonetheless. I was very happy with the service. Waiters have good command of English. I don’t know how busy they normally get. But they were free enough to check back on me and really considerate. The bathroom was also extremely clean. So happy I was here! Will return if I am in the area again!
